The modern trams were needed but they could have at least painted and themed them to suit Blackpool history
Ever noticed how it was sort of a missing man formation with Concorde detaching from the Red Arrows? It made sense since Concorde was approaching her retirement in commercial service.
You cant make electricity out of thin air, Yes you can.
2024 didn’t they predict 3 day power cuts
A programme made when English was still the language of the United Kingdom. Nowadays it would be dominated by the use of the non-word ‘outage’ and how the LGBTQ+ community would be adversely affected…

They must've been so cross about this after having had the whole country stand still in 2003.. and then in 2020 when it happened for real for completely genuine reasons. We need empowered to be able to go offgrid everone!
Theyre all new !!! 😁
If huge power company profits were returned to infrastructure development and not greedy shareholders, the finance would be adequate.
ATMs wont work No street lighting. No traffic lights Nothing , No alarms all connected to the net. No home security. Law and order will break down almost immediately.
This eventual outcome seems inevitable.
Isn't neoliberalism wonderful. Essential services should have never been sold off to the highest bidder. You reap what you sow.
And they did not even take into account battery cars.....
The GREEN movement took the narrative of Nuclear power, the made it look dangerous because they had an agenda to work to that destroys the economy. They are aiming to cause mass deaths when there is a cold winter. THE BBC made this film but now will not mention anything about it now. There is a plan and it is coming to fruition NOW. There was an explosion, not in Russian but the Nordstream pipelines when the US destroyed Germany’s major sources of energy from Russia. This was the excuse to raise prices to the unattainable for a large sector of the UK population. All in the agenda.
Love this aircraft
1:25 Does anyone know the name of this song?
after slagging them off the the whole video Ensign now have a load of RM's for hire
3 are running in Dublin with vintage tea trips Jean-RM654 Kitty-RM 2078 Pauline-RM811
While one can appreciate the idea of no power, it irks me to no end that you make a video where nobody can see what is going on. I’m not even British and want to say bloody h. It is also well known that the British are very good at survival skills. The elderly and children have coping skills some middle aged people do not. Try watching Victorian Pharmacy and Victory Garden. Get out the old axe and practice chopping wood because that is what you will spend your days doing.
These new BYDs arent going to last anywhere near as long, but at least they'll be nice and warm in winter.😉🤣🤣🤣
Routemaster 70 took place on Both weekend on 20th July/21th July 2024 at Chiswick Business Park the Former Site of Chiswick Works to celebrate 70 years of the Prototype Routemaster RM1 since it was first launched at Earls Court Motor Show back in September 1954 & Entered Service in 1956 on Route 2 Between Golders Green & Crystal Palace from Cricklewood Bus Garage
Sorry I missed that . Stuck here in Dublin with work .
Best looking bus!
Not one mention of accessibility and how hardly anyone with a physical disability could use one, let alone a mum with a buggy.
don't people with disabilities get cars leased for them from the Government: the motorbility scheme? From what I see in London, mum's have buggies all right...BMW X5s....
@@swanvictor887you’re kidding, right? The motability scheme requires an advanced payment for the use of the vehicle over 3 years, the vehicle is then given back at the end of that term. During the 3 year term the disabled person gives up their monthly PIP allowance. So it’s not a lease because there’s no way for the disabled person to keep the vehicle they’ve invested in at the end and it’s certainly not free as is often the misconception. A full time wheelchair user will require a larger vehicle (more expensive) with an automatic transmission (more expensive) and extras like electric tailgates & seats that make a wheelchair user’s day to day life easier all have to be spec’d at their expense over the listed advanced payment too - but remember they don’t get to see any of that 3 years down the track. The Motability scheme however - owned by the big 4 banks - have it well sewn up with their own auction houses through which they offload the vehicles often at profit (because they’ve not paid any VAT on them to begin with, they’re one of the the world’s largest fleet owners so have huge discount buying power and the vehicles often have low mileage for their age) not before removing and *disposing of* any costly adaptations like hand controls, hoists and transfer plates. So. Aye. That’s all a reason to skimp on making public transport accessible in big cities 🙄
LOL in 2024 we can make 60% from wind , solar .. the rest is nuke and oil etc if the oil is gone ... we are foobard
As far as I'm concerned, it's still London Transport, not Transport for London.
Good old London Transport.
Why not off all advertising bill boards early and any non essential.. I remember in the 70s we was told north sea gas we would be independent and cheap power. What happened. Interesting video
Its quite mind boggling to think that in 2004 it was 3% renewables. In 2010 they where predicting 10% Meanwhile in 2024 we have many days where over 50% of our power comes from wind alone, and were just shutting down our final coal power station
thankfully we went down the LPG route and now ship our gas in. we still need to get off the stuff :)

I remember this being a great series, can't remember if it was repeated.
A few years ago I was about to book a short holiday in a B&B which was beside the tramway in Fleetwood. I planned to be using the tram most days. However, on calling to make a booking I was informed that the old trams had recently been replaced. I decided not to book. 😢
Drove the 2B, Crystal Palace to Baker Street Station out of Norwood Garage in 1987. My Driving instructor was Don Woodgate. Looks a bit like him on the skid pan at 11m 25,
and in 2023 the UK gets zero gas from Russia.
And they want Electric cars to take over.Really .
After watching The Crown, it's more noticeable that she was nervous at the beginning of this footage, almost grinding her teeth (she had lost her sister and her mum recently, who wouldn't be overwhelmed at that sight?) She got really glad/relaxed when the family entered, she relaxes her chin a bit. Queen Elizabeth II, no other monarch will ever be quite like her
Prince William was fine af, but Prince Harry was like hold my beer because in a few years, I will be taking that title, and he did. That boy had a glow up of all glow ups.
HAMSTERS!!! ... all you need is a decent sized farm, (500 hamsters and wheels or so), attach a motor to each wheel, have wires running from the motors into transformers, (basically two rods wrapped in copper wire, one side less than the other), to boost the small charge, run that voltage through about three more transformers, and there you go - "free" power - only down-side is paying for the animal care, hence the "free" part. IF done correctly, they could power the country, granted no one has tried it, but because no one has tried it, that means we DONT know, i mean look at them, once they get on that wheel, they run .. FAST! you attach a motor to the wheel? - small charge of electric, but if you boost that charge with step-transformers? Well, who knows how much power they can produce? i mean, all a step-transformer is, is just a power changer, if you need more charge, go from less-wrapped>more-wrapped (step-up-transformer), you want less charge, go from more-wrapped>less-wrapped (step-down-transformer), keep a small charge from the hamster wheels going through each of the step-up's and who knows how much power you can actually make?
There’s simply too many people.
25:40 It is interesting that since this was broadcast, the average uk power usage has fallen from 375twh a year to about 310twh a year. Put up the price and people sudenly use 15-20% less power. Problem solved.
Cant afford to use it?
@@CARLIN4737 or maybe they have just stopped waisting it?
In 2023, we have renewables enough to power the globe but still no means of storing their output at grid scale. The market will provide. Very, very slowly.
Buy shares in lithium miners. They are the quickest form of electricity storage and can only go up when the shtf.
Proud to be British.....had a lump in my throat ❤
RIP Concorde, RIP Queen Elizabeth, you are both remarkable.
Pity that Ponytailed mongrel got the rest of them shut down
Fascinating watch in 2023!!!!!!
The only unrealistic part is that no one checked on the little girl. What kind of neighbours don't check on their elderly and young?
there has been studies which showed people in cities are more focused on their own than other compared to others
Funny how we find ourselves in desperate need of investment in our infrastructure, the price of electricity today and they're still not investing wisely
boom, and here we are in 2023, get ready
It won’t run out, the thieving bastards will just put your bills up
Er. 13 years later. USA blew up the nord stream pipeline. Nevermind terrorists...
