this was heartbreaking to listen to; imposible to imagine going thru. but kudos for telling what happened, because it is an object lesson for those who say "why didn't she tell anyone?". inwardly i groaned when you related that yr mom "took you over to confront him"... What - a child's word vs a grown man and her mother's sister, the child having to deal with feelings shame and embarrasment and going-against-loved-ones that are particularly acute for kids?? And no consequences for the dude other than restricted access to this victim? The moms might think it's been dealt with, but the take-away for the little girl - the lesson those moms helped teach - is that telling isn't worth the embarassment & hurt. And so the trash is past on so that the abuse can continue in other contexts, with all *sorts* of consequences -for the victim throughout her life, and for *who knows how* many other girls who encounter these abusers down the line. It's a lot of compound pain, which the abusers need to recognize by being arrested and taken out of circulation.

OMG girl... you need to listen to your doctors better, lol. You can't just stop taking your antibiotics after 3 days because you "took yourself off them"! And you should have listened to the doctor and kept the drains in as long as they wanted you - who cares if it was your birthday? Just celebrate a week later. Your incisions got suuuuuper infected that's why you had that bad smell. I'm so glad you healed and everything worked out in the end but I was ON EDGE listening to you talk about this experience, wondering if you got really sick from an infection or something.

Sorry this happened to you 😔. I too was in a similar situation. From first cousins and a much older kid from the neighborhood. Thank GOD the kids from the neighborhood moved away. Sometimes I felt like I was passed around. 6 up to age 14, I fought back, stopped going around. I started working, eventually dating and spent my time between the two. You are sooo strong! I'm 35 and never told these secrets just bc of the backlash from it all. Not wanting to deal or confront family members/friends and their delusional minds trying to make it seem like I was. After a while my actions should of been enough to tell a story ( I started exotic dancing at 18yo and by the time I was promisicous at 23yo). I keep my kids(5yo & 11 boys) in sight at all times, educate them on their body parts and that no one should ever touch them inappropriately. I tell my kids that I'm always on their side and they can tell me anything so they can be comfortable telling. Ik. I am still paranoid. Being Silent is deadly! It's dumb that loved ones think being silent is okay and let's not forget the unforseen punishment of these abusers. Ij sit and wait for KARMA
