This channel is dedicated to R.E.M.'s supercool lead guitarist Peter Buck. Other members of R.E.M. will show up on these videos, but I'll try to make Peter the focus of this channel.
Why a channel devoted to Peter Buck? Because there isn't one yet on youtube, so I hope to fill this void. But given that Peter shuns the limelight, it's tough to find Peter focused videos. I'll try my best.
I don't want to have any copyright issues. If any of the videos I've uploaded is found to be infringing on a copyright then I'll delete the video right away.
Have fun watching the videos.

A very stunning man ❤
recorded with a nokia, written with the heart
This reminds me of the gene Hackman movie the conversation from the 70 s
the 'sound' of the drums on all of REM's (especially early) albums is what I would want drums to sound like on a record. Most o0f this is due to Bill's talent and style, although the engineer surely deserves credit for this as well. I luv ya Bill. Been listenin' to your music since 1985 when I was 13. My best friend's older brother was several years older than us and was in college at the time. He played REM all the time which is how I got turned on to this music in turn a whole new world of music through college radio (which I hadn't listened to before). okay then
4:44: "not in specific terms"? What does the interviewer want - an abstract answer?
What word does he use at 2:24 when he says they put out a record that didn't ???? to the southern stereotype.
starts at 0:56
Fantastic
Looking at your watch a third time Waiting in the station for the bus Going to a place that's far So far away and if that's not enough Going where nobody says hello They don't talk to anybody they don't know You'll wind up in some factory That's full-time filth and nowhere left to go Walk home to an empty house Sit around all by yourself I know it might sound strange but I believe You'll be coming back before too long Don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to Rockville Don't go back to Rockville and waste another year At night I drink myself to sleep And pretend I don't care that you're not here with me 'Cause it's so much easier to handle All my problems if I'm too far out to sea But something better happen soon Or it's gonna be too late to bring you back Don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to Rockville Don't go back to Rockville and waste another year It's not as though I really need you If you were here I'd only bleed you But everybody else in town only wants To bring you down and that's not how it ought to be I know it might sound strange, but I believe You'll be coming back before too long Don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to Rockville Don't go back to Rockville and waste another year Don't go back to Rockville, don't go back to Rockville Don't go back to Rockville and waste another year
Mike Mills looks like marcie from peanuts.
Peter Buck seriously looks so much like Julian Casablancas
1:45 "Si puede ser, ¿pero sabes que? Me voy a tomar el subte, nos vemos Medina. "
No substitute for Bill on the drums. He drives it.
Love the low pitch of your tom-toms & floor toms!
Man that was some eyebrows
Buck looks so cool.
❤
Mike Mills used to look so nerdy back in the day.
Amazing to think this was 33 years ago. Yikes! It's fun to hear his predictions about the songs on Out of Time and to know years later how much Stipe despises Shiny Happy People. They each had their views and individuality and I love that they agreed on songs and albums even when they personally had opposing views. I haven't found anything where he discusses how he thought Fables "sucks" and would love to find it to one see if it is true and if so what his reasons were. Music is completely subjective so I have no issue with his view but remain curious as to the reasons.
What’s Bill Berry wearing lol
The same kind of shirt Six Finger Satellite wore on the cover of their split 7" with Green Magnet School
🎸
Love these guys.Huge respect for what they accomplished.
Peter Buck is very,very cool.
Discúlpame, fuego tiene?
Very refined
Quien viene por "los simuladores"?
MEM is one of the most talented and influential bassists in popular music and he seems like a really nice guy.
THE cutest shit I've ever seen
Micheal’s voice… I’m gonna pass out.
The most formidable eyebrows in rock
40 years ago...OMG.
College journalism.
Bill was their secret weapon. Terrific drummer.
As a lifelong R.E.M fan, Bill's thinking was spot on, he eventually had the courage of his convictions and the band should have disbanded when Bill left. But they should have done it in a way that no one would've known that the band called it a day because of Bill. Instead of an announcement that "Berry leaves R.E.M and the band will continue", it should have been "R.E.M call it a day". That would have been a more graceful and legendary end than what turned out to be a sad long terminal decline towards a whimper. And, i say this knowing that if that happened i would have missed out on some really great songs that came after Bill's departure, but i would happily sacrifice those songs for R.E.M calling it a day as R.E.M and not continuing on as a limping wounded canine. And this whole press release nonsense that Bill would not leave if the band would break up is just that, nonsense. Bill knew what was right, the others disagreed. Bill left, the others continued regardless.
Ocean Flower Aquarium? The one in San Fran? Oh wow
the only man to successfully rock the unibrow. REM where my first love musically, I drifted off once Bill had to leave.
"It's not any weirder than Prince, it's weirder than Heart, but Heart makes good records, there's a place for everything." Love Peter Buck.
Vamos los simuladores carajo 2022

Twelve Bucks brought me here
aaaaa they're so adorable!!! such wonderful footage!!<3
❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️
such a wonderful guy<3<3 i feel so lucky to be able to watch this footage
Everything REM did after Bill left was just crap in my opinion. Bill is an extremely underated drummer. Try to play some of his early stuff. Damn
Fully agree 👍
Stipe and Buck seem to get the limelight but I get the feeling they wouldn't have got as far without the rock solid rhythm section Mills and Berry gave them during their early years.
I agree. I think he was their true secret weapon given that he was on drums and only did subtle backing vocals. By all accounts he was a master song writer and lyricist and contributed far more creatively than the average REM fan seems to realize.
Mike has that Brainy nerd appearance. He looks like a few people I went to high school with. This interview is obviously earlier in their career. This same person who is easy to poke fun at just listed one of his homes in LA for $6.5 million. Mike’s always been a person that’s intelligent and interesting. Mike sings background vocals for REM but he’s really a second lead singer. All four band members are exceptionally talented.
Mike's a fantastic bass player, and a great backing vocalist, but he's not a second lead singer. His voice doesn't have as much character as Michael's, and any time he takes a lead vocal it tends to sound strained and pitchy. No disrespect intended, that's just how I hear it.
@@happiness1772 The point I was trying to make is Mike Mill’s is very unassuming. Perhaps my comments on Mike being a 2nd lead singer is a bit much lol. I think a better example of a true 2nd lead singer, songwriter would be Barry and Robin Gibb of The Bee Gees. If one were to ask Barry about it, he would say both himself and Robin were two individuals who both sang as Lead singers. Thanks for your reply and input. Best wishes and intentions.
Si ud nos confirma el trabajo, nos ponemos a investigar minuciosamente a Claudia.
Overdrive on the guitar???
Peter and Bill’s Mullets are EVERYTHING
