A Man's A Man for A' That - Robert Burns

My favourite version of the poem. 1. Is there for honest poverty That hings his head, an' a' that? The coward slave, we pass him by We dare be poor for a' that! For a' that, an' a' that, Our toils obscure, an' a' that, The rank is but the guinea's stamp, The man's the gowd for a' that. 2. What though on hamely fare we dine, Wear hoddin grey, an' a' that? Gie fools their silks, and knaves their ...
May these words guide the majority of us through the next 4 years of chaos and division.
Кто честной бедности своей Стыдится и всё прочее, Тот самый жалкий из людей, Трусливый раб и прочее. При всём при том, при всём при том, Пускай бедный мы с вами, Богатство штамп ну золотом, А золото - мы сами.
One false step and I'm an x rated India Jones movie 😂
It’s nice. But it’s wishful thinking. Human nature is too complex and the devil too pernicious. Perhaps if Burns spent more time at church and less time having children out of wedlock for their mothers to starve he’d have seen that. Modern Scotland is a tyrannical nation and it’s no wonder, it’s based upon this. Makes me sad to see.
A mans a man for a' that
This is fantastic, does anyone know the source of the footage and/or what is was shot for?
Focussing a problem?

Just wonderful. Thank you for posting.
I remember watching this when it was first on and I about fell off the couch I was laughing so hard. I loved this show, never missed it.
Really beautiful ❤✨😍
❤
He never fails to bring up the coffee joke.
No matter how many times I see this, it never fails to crack me up!
Needs subtitles. I can't understand what they are saying.
Please see the description.
@@jirihuf I did :D It skips a section of text and maybe you just have to be Scottish to understand the lyrics for a'that?
@@jirihuf Thanks immensely for the post and for the words!
Kapitalismus tu nikdy nebyl.
O čem ty mluvíš? Kde kapitalismus nebyl?
Byl tu naposled za první Republiky.
@@mareknovak2144 A teď je tu co? xd
@@enoughvincent Jakýsi hybrid socialní demokracie a oligarchie.
@@mareknovak2144 To jo, ale kapitalismus chápu spíše jako způsob řízení ekonomiky a ta je u nás kapitalistická, samozřejmě není to nějaký anarcho-kapitalismus, ale stále je to kapitalismus.
Happy burns
Strange perhaps, but I prefer the parts read by the non-actors. They sound more honest.
best tv series ever 😂
IMHO, it's best recited, rather than sung. Very nice job.
I totally agree. It makes a nice song, but it is much better recited.
This is a beautiful rendition. Thank you for sharing it.
We are not dreamers, we are the awaken WWWWWWWW ^^^^^^^^^^^WWWWWWWWW
Correction, officially, it can hold as many as 160,000 thousand people. During the last demonstration (not in the video), there were 80-120 thousand.
My favorite show of all time!!!!
@jsbethke -- That's an interesting observation. Damn the automobile.....
@jsbethke That's an interesting fact! I never realized. For example the square in the video (St. Wenceslas sq.) can hold many, many thousands, maybe even tens of thousands.
A beautiful poem. Spoken beautifully.
Burns and Scotland at its best.
Larry Smith i am Scottish and thanks the country you live in is awesome too!
@Kootje792 Thank you!
Just wandering around on YT and found this. Thank you for posting. Glorious poem, not heard it before but gone straight into my top 10 ever. Again, thank you.
I love this poem. I think the best version is the version sang by Ewan Maccoll.
