I have an '08 G6 that I picked up cheap. It seems to have the hard-to-find grounding issue that causes intermittent traction control to turn off. Recently the transmission will intermittently have issues deciding on a gear. I'm off to Walmart to do this fix!

This is an Automatic issue, I’m assuming? This popped up looking if I can turn off any type of traction control on a 07 Cobalt SS LE5 Manual.

The wire you looped does nothing. The one from the tcm to strut tower does.

Hi. I tried your first version because I had all those symptoms and codes. The codes are gone but I still don’t shift gears and speedometer still doesn’t work. Should I do the double wire? Do you think that is the problem? Thanks!!!

My speedometer and stuff works tho. Could it still be the same issue since it switched gears rough and doesn't go into OD??.That would be swell!!

Thanks so very much for this tutorial. I was at my wits end trying to figure out what the problem was. I watched videos upon videos and gave each solution a try. After replacing Throttle Body, Spark Plugs, and Speed Sensor, I started getting different codes on the my code reader. That's when I changed tactics. There's a short somewhere and I just had to find it. Luckily, it was the wiring to the Speed Sensor. Got those two patched up and did the TCM ground mod. After resetting the computer and all, the car is running fine with no issues at all. BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE ELECTRONICS IN YOUR VEHICLE, MAKE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST. Yes I know, most people already knows this. This is for those that tend to forget. Yes, I were one of those people. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue that I've had.

the harness into the trans needs to be pulled off you will see a bit of fluid on it brake clean both sides problem solved for a few months

My mom's car is having these exact issues and a shop she went to said it needs a new transmission. Never did the mechanic address power steering issue. If this works you have saved me time and a lot of chasing. I will definitely be back to give my update
