    I have this and the 30° version and love them both! I'm actually inside the 50° version right now with the additional bag liner from them for $8. With the triple layer I've slept inside my truck down to -10°f. Wouldn't say it's safe to do that cold outside or in a tent with the 3 combo but inside I do fine

    I have zero trust in anything walmart sells . even the name brands they have partnered with cant be trusted . walmart always makes a cheap walmart specific version of that product . klymit. decathlon , you name it . I love my decathlon backpack , but camparing it to the one walmart is selling there is A night and day difference

    Ozark Trail makes good gear, not the lightest or smallest or warmest but great for the price. I bought three of their backpacking chairs when I needed chairs for an outdoor movie that my family discovered on a vacation. They're similar to a Helinox One except for the weight, much heavier but at a small fraction of the price. I still use one regularly for kayak-camping where weight is not an issue. The other two come in handy occasionally and can replace the one I use regularly if it breaks, but it shows no sign of breaking. I wouldn't be surprised if it's more durable than a Helinox. I had an OT tent years ago, but it finally wore out. Probably would have lasted longer with better care. I take better care of my gear now. I have a 15 deg sleeping bag and wouldn't take it anywhere it near its extreme rating. Sleep is critically important, and though I am very budget conscious when buying gear, I won't compromise on a sleeping bag, pad and pillow. That said, this OT bag packs smaller than my 650 fill down bag, and I'd consider it as a warm weather bag if I were in the market for one.

      I use an OT tent for backpacking that still going strong until I switched to hammocks. I saw those OT chairs, it’s good To know they are durable. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Ive had this bag for a while now and its the best!! We went backpacking for about 4 days and it got down to 45 and I started to get cold the night I didnt put socks on. with socks on and a base layer I was good. My son said he slept great and comfortable. I do have a smaller down camp blank I put over me if it gets any colder than that and it does amazing. For $17 you honestly cant beat it!. We did use this early fall where it was 95 during the days and about 80s at night and it was way too warm but comfortable. Hammock tip! Unzip it about half way, turn the zipper part under you and use it was a quilt. Works great and gives more room to move around. I do have an under quilt for our hammocks which make a BIG difference!

    • @MarkedMiles
      @MarkedMiles 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Glad to see it’s working for you. I usually always turn my bags upside down and use it as a quilt. I can get claustrophobic feeling stuck in a hammock.

    Yes, they are small. You will freeze in it at 50 deg. It is okay on warm summer nights. There is like to no insulation. I keep it as a small back up in a vehicle.

    Happy new year mark !!! I don’t know that specific bag , but me and my boys used to use an even smaller bag all the time. I’ve had it down to single digit temps by layering it w other insulation, and it didn’t add too much more bulk to the pack. I’d throw in a fleece bag liner , some heavier long Johns and a military style jungle blanket and was “comfy” for most of the night. A couple of times I had to wear my coat inside it too in order to make it last till morning. But what we liked about that was, we felt it was cheaper to just add a small item to our summer bag and we’d be fine into the fall. Add another item or two and go into the warmer part of winter. We just made our own modular sleep system. And if all else falls … just scoot a little closer to whomever is lying beside you 😂

    • @MarkedMiles
      @MarkedMiles 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Happy New Year. Definitely all the above. I’m definitely going to use this over the spring summer mainly for the extra room inside.

    I've had mine for about 11 years still holding up, stitching coming out of the zipper in some spots, I wash mine about every other month, mostly sleep on top of it during the summer as padding, In the winter time I've used it in temperatures below -20 yes I froze my ass off. ( I could see my breath) The zipper is sometimes a fight getting into zip up correctly. Or when it does zip up correctly comes apart when you move around. the elastic bands on the bottom that keep it together when rolled up have completely come off, was thinking of tying in Long shoe laces like the old school sleeping bags used to have.

    I have this same light and love it! I lay it in my truck dashboard to charge, then it's good for several evenings before needing another charge. No, it won't fully charge your phone, but the idea is that it will charge it enough to call 911 in an emergency. I practically live in my camper full time, and I have found this light to be dependable and bright. However, I think it's been replaced by Ozark's new 150 lumen magnetically solar charged camping light which I also have. It's very bright and will last a couple of weeks on one charge if used only a few hours in the evening. I haven't used the sun to charge it yet (days of rain) so I'll have to see how fast and well it charges with just sun, and how long that charge lasts. I'm trying to get away from electricity and batteries. Anyway, this little lantern you're unhappy with has been a great companion to me.

    Cook hot dogs on a stick over a fire or boil them in the fry pan or pot the handle weld tack that came off jb weld is a perm fix and commo. Sense about how much weight should stress that handle I've used this kit as have several friends dozens of times if you think it through they last years , too luck blazing has stove heat under any cookware is goingvto turn out bad we ALL use Strtno folding stoves with WOOD easy to control and monitor heat, wide 6.5 Inc square stove top surface / grill holds pots and pans better than any other fuel type stove and is perfect for this mess set or cooking fish or game right on the grill . This is the best flat packable mess kit and stove set up throw in the ozark trail survival cup 18 0z with folding handles and you are good to go. No need to spend a fortune if you had to toss away one piece of tgis kit and just buy another full set so what it's now up yo around $ 10 bucks so between $ 30 to $ 80 bu KS savings o er the " good brands " I've used tgis mess and cup ozark stuff from Spain to the Dolomites to Morrocco has not failed me yet

    I use low heat...real low, like half a simmer ring low or a couple candle flames low, it helps to lift the skillet away from the fire and put it close when it gets cool and not just leave it in the fire. But the kettle is the best piece in the kit, and I use it as part of my severe weather kit that I take to my parents if the power goes out for instant coffee
