What are Invasive Species? | The Difference Between Native, Non-Native, Introduced and Invasive
Do you really know what invasive species are? Unfortunately, this term gets frequently misused and is often considered to be a synonym of non-native. However, there are criteria that any given species has to meet after being introduced to the new environment before being declared "invasive". Not all introduced species are invasive and many of them are, in fact, beneficial. And what about native species? Should we always prefer them over non-natives?

Learn Terminology for Grass (Poaceae) Identification | Morphology of Flowering Plants
มุมมอง 4.1K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
The morphology of grasses (family Poaceae) is quite different from that of other flowering plants. On top of that, to fully understand grasses, you need to learn special terminology to be able to describe their characters. This can be quite overwhelming. This video will provide you with some real-life examples of grass plants and their structures, as we go through all the basic characters that ...
Learn How Ferns Reproduce | Fern Life Cycle
มุมมอง 22K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Have you ever wondered about those strange "dirt clusters" that appear on the underside of fern leaves (fronds)? And moreover, how come there are no flowers and seeds to be found on ferns? We explain how fern (pteridophyte) reproduction works and what individual life stages (sporophyte and gametophyte) look like. Illustrated diagrams of the fern life cycle will also help you understand alternat...

Well explained, thanks!
Thanks for this video! I have a doubt inside angiosperm plants, I have found the liliophyta and magnoliophyta terms instead of monocotiledoneans and eucotiledoneas (I speak spanish so Im probably writing wrongly the names in english) and I understand they are not exactly refering to the same character(?) cheers!
Cellar spiders are awesome, I've handled them quite a bit. I leave them and house centipedes alone whenever I see them in the house.
I am an envsc student and this helped me so much
Thank you! Im a southamerican biologist currently studying to identify pampas flora for my job xD so this is great help!
I have elephant ears outside in the ground during this summer. Now we are headed fullspeed into Fall and i noticed one of mine (I have 12) is blooming. Exciting!
If people only new how many bugs and bug parts they eat a day they probably would be sick
It would be interesting to see a longer documentary about lichens.
Great teaching 👍 👏 👌 ❤️ 😀
Absolutely perfect very easy and simple to understand
They are great for my indoor garden. They have settled into the entire parameter of the rooms floor to wall joint. None come into the center of the room always hanging out on their webs on the edge. I have noticed that there may be a higher spider to intruder ratio as ive seen alot of cannibalism with them
I’m hoping you can help me, I have an elephant ear and I’ve had it for two years, it’s growing beautifully, but I did notice two flowers bloomed, do I have to cut them off? I heard that I should do so because it will take away from the rest of the plant. Can anyone help me with this?
So helpful thankyou so much
Do they need to have such long legs...
My giant alocasia is currently blooming!
I'm not a native English speaker , I love her tone
Really good reference for 3D modeling! Thx allot for putting this out there :)
VERY helpful in learning how I'm killing my fern! 😂😭 I'll make changes tomorrow.
Thank you so much mam very use ful vedio
The fig tree doesn’t make figs all year round so when it’s not fruiting season, where do those wasps go? How is their life cycle impacted?
Yes it helped me. Thanks

I am no expert and I am not saying this to be rude or correct you, I am saying this for my own knowledge but I had read the the Cellar Spider is one of the few that do not liquify and drink their prey but actually bite chew and swallow their food, is my understanding incorrect? There are so many different sources of information and many are constantly contradicting so just curious. Thank you for the video!❤
Utterly fascinating. I would love to know more about how such a complex mutualism evolved.
Do all ficus species produce this type of inflorescence?
@@drqazlop Yes, they do! I show many different examples in my full video about fig wasps! 😊
Wow! Love figs 😋
cottonwood trees in Bulgaria cause forest fires and severe allergies to almost everyone cherry plums and mulberries help with soil erosion prevention making even pavements start where they are even when big holes are dug close to them and serve as incredibly good source of food for birds and humans
Have them here in the house. We leave them be as they feed on other bugs that are a problem. They stay a few days in a spot then seem to travel to a new spot. Seems like they follow the sent trails of other insects. I was once in the basement, and saw a celler spider come out of a crack in the ceiling boards. It lassoed a fly in mid flight with a web it threw. Rolled it up in a little ball, and took it's prize back hidden between the boards.
except for cloves I haven't really used any other members of this family for anything in my country there mainly used as decisional flowers but in some southern regions close to the neighbouring countries they are used as a spice for desserts and meat

Excellent
Very nice presentation
Thank you!
My Elephant ear plant is blooming, too. So beautiful! God's glory displays in flowers.
That's wonderful! The flowers are so unusual and beautiful to look at. Enjoy! 🤗
@natureclearly Thanks, I did not know. They bloomed.
I always leave cellar spiders alone, i once had around 3 uk house spiders in the kitchen until the cellar spider moved in, she ate them all :)
and skipping some of the most common with the prime example of the wood sorel that shows the most violent and interesting seed dispersal around
Very much understood. Thank you ❤
I am not a native English speaker, but I love her voice tone, rhythm, and the way she addresses the topic, so clearly.
Thank you! ❤
I cannot tell you how helpful these videos have been to my understanding of botany. I've been interested in botany for over a decade now, but every time I try to wrap my head around anatomy or classification I get lost in all the variation. Your videos are so clear, but not patronizing, which is a rare combination when it comes to educational material. I finally feel like I'm starting to grasp some basic knowledge of plants. Thank you! ❤
So true
Hate the creepy fking things
These are the pests so what now
3:16 crane flies are the 3rd creature sometimes referred to as daddy long legs
That was incredibly helpful! Thanks for the clear and easy-to-understand demonstration.
can you make a free pdf downloadable about your video
Yes I have seen cellar spiders go round and around wich I guess its to make them look bigger or confuse the thing bothering it
These guys are so skittish & silly, I love the heck out of them. There's a lot in my house. Some keep making webs in my bathtub/bathroom sinks & everytime I go grab them to relocate them, they do this lmao. It looks so funny.
Gyration is 100 % to confuse predators. Few days earlier I witnessed a juvenile pholcus spider in my room start vibrating as a response to approaching jumping spider. It was quite funny to witness, the jumping spider was just staring at it confused and then left after a few minutes.
I ain't letting to listen ahh video 😭🙏🙏
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I always leave them in my home. Whenever my daughter gets rid of them, we got more random bugs in the house.
I love a woman like you who look a teeny weeny sad. Thank you for that lecture in entomology. Merci.
