Yes the green anoles are the best! I just meant overall size in this particular interaction. Some of the green anoles certainly match the browns in size and the length is usually longer because the green's tails are much longer, and it seems to be this guy's weapon of choice. :) I hope you enjoy your anoles in your yard. It's probably sad that it can't be free anymore. It would probably prefer to be in the wild as it was. They are wild animals and not pets. I'm not being judgmental, because I know kids like to have lizards as pets but it's not the best thing for wild animals to be caged and their freedom taken away.

I know right! I see people in my neighborhood go out of their way to swerve and hit snakes, turtles, and ducks. People need to grow up! Cruelty to animals is so rampant anymore and it's just so uncalled for. Yes Hurricane Milton was terrifying! That made Helene look like a little rain shower. lol I heard there's another one in the Yucatan heading our way. I'll be glad when this hurricane season is over because my nerves are shot!

I know, but her wound healed and she is fine. I saw her the other day and she has a big scar on her tail. I was concerned it would get infected, and was ready with spray antibiotics, but it healed well. I'm about to publish my second book - Central Florida Wildlife Landscaping: Turn Your Yard into a Wildlife Oasis. I have a section on items to keep on hand to help injured wildlife!

Pokeweed transplants well so if you see any on the roadside your at the edge of a parking lot grab a shovel and take it home.

You're welcome. It's a great free butterfly host plant. Have fun with your butterfly gardening. One thing to note they are toxic to livestock so keep them out of your grazing areas. There is a free booklet on plants poisonous to livestock. It's called Poisonous-Plants-of-the-Southeastern-United-States. I agree. It would be great if everyone could buy them at the big box stores. I suppose the nursery trade relies on the plants looking great with flowers to attract buyers and many of the natives only bloom for a few weeks so they don't bother, and they don't do well with synthetic fertilizers which is anther nursery trade secret. They keep them pumped up with super bloom fertilizers to look great and then you take them home and they peter out. Although spotted beebalm blooms for quite a few months so it seems like it would be a good candidate for the stores. Well I can dream.

No, it's a 1/4 dripper line run through a copper pipe (to keep the squirrels from chewing it) and attached to the garden hose bib by way of a reducer adapter (goes from 1/4" to whatever a hose size is). I bury it in pvc (in case I hit it with the shovel lol) and run it over to the hose bib. The base is attached to a wooden stake next to the bird bath. I just keep it at a tiny drip with the knob on the bib. I have one on the other side where I ran the 1/4 dripper line through pvc and it's not been chewed by the squirrels so that's a cheaper option. I like the green patina the copper gets though. :) Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I know ... I love the slow motion too because you can really see so much detail in the bee's movements. Not to mention slow motion makes the flowers look so relaxing waving in a breeze. I use the option on my camera so it's totally organic and not changed in editing so it's really such nice quality. I'm so glad you enjoy, and notice, my hard work. :)

Most are volunteer oak trees. There is a large water oak at the front of my yard so probably water oak seedlings from the squirrels planting them for me (they transplant really well if you find volunteers). I think the one in the back right side, with the whitish bark, is a swamp bay tree (Persea palustris).

Thank you. My rouge plants seem to do the same thing and I've never figured it out. I get some that are amazing and gorgeous, covered in blooms and berries, and then they disappear. Hopefully the birds will replant some for us both.

Yes, it should work. I have one growing in an acacia tree with speckled sunlight and the vine is doing well ... growing all throughout the branches. The corkystem passionflower is flowering, putting out fruit, and the butterflies are laying eggs on it. I've found them in deep shade so I think your ligustrum tree would work as a natural trellis. Thank you Elizabeth! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) Yes they have a lot of work to become butterflies. They do a lot of things that people don't notice. When they go through an instar they usually go to the base of the plant to be better hidden because getting the new skin makes them much softer and more vulnerable. So keep an eye out for them when you're watering so you don't accidentally drown them while they are changing sizes. :) I check each pot for them and water gently if I see them at ground level.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes I am always trying to focus on the underdogs so maybe people will give them a second look! The big showy wildflowers don't need advocates because they look sexy and people want to grow them. I'm just hoping to show people the little wildflowers are just as beautiful and important and deserve a place in anyone's green space. It's also a necessity for me to work with what Mother Nature gives me because my MS has kept me from traditional landscaping and gardening for several decades. I have total appreciation, and gratitude, for the humblest of any wildflowers that choose to grace my green space. :)

Yes, it has tips specifically for oil based stain.

That's fantastic! They are often overlooked because they blend into the landscape AND they only bloom for about a month so if you don't catch them just right you might miss them. Not to mention the foliage almost dies back to nothing for most of the year. You definitely have to time this one just right to find it. They are such cheerful little daisy like flowers!

You're very welcome! Yes, for an inexpensive sprayer it does a decent job. Thinning, and straining, the paint is an absolute necessity with this sprayer. It seems like a pain at first, but worth it for best results and no clogging. It helps to use distilled water as well because it doesn't have minerals in it that can change the paint structure if you're going to store the prepared paint for more than a few days.

That's lovely to hear. I know what you mean about the seeds getting on the dog's fur because I've dealt with it myself. I used to keep an area out of the dog's main runs and it helped a lot keeping them off their fur. Enjoy your flowers and puppers!

Don't accept criticism for creating your garden the way you want it! When they pay your mortgage then maybe they can dictate what you plant. The critics better get out there and bully the wildlife to stop using it and propagating it!

The 4ah battery is good for about 4 tanks of paint. The smaller, 2ah battery obviously about half that. I recently painted a small house with it... about 4 gallons of paint, and I had to recharge both batteries 3 times to get through it. Almost wished I had a corded sprayer by the time I was finished as the battery life turned out to be limiting. Lots of fun on small projects... maybe not the best tool for an entire house.
