      It is not visible to the unaided eye. There are glasses that will enable you to see it BUT it is NOT visible because your eyes aren't built for it. Never stare into the business end of any "IR" scope. IR infrared the sighting lasers red or green that you can see WILL damage your vision.

Not any more complicated to set up. I had replaced mine prior to setting up. It’s nerve racking to think that your data will get lost but everything should stay. If your gonna be hunting cold temps I’d highly recommend a lithium battery. Best of luck out there.

    I could be wrong but I believe the phone apps that give decibel readings use your phones microphone to calculate the noise level, which you were covering your phones microphone with your pinky finger lol. Might get a better, more consistent reading by pointing the bottom of your phone toward the unit. With that said, I just got my hr 500 today and I’m disappointed in the noise level. No noticeable difference in my opinion. Only reason I bought it is because my hr230 drives me nuts, especially in ground blinds. I compared the noise today and they’re both about the same noise level.

    These boxes totally suck, poorly designed and not made well. Definitely not made to be used on a tree with a cable lock, especially with the back of the camera sticking out of the box. It's impossible to set one and not have the camera move.

  • @nhwnhw02

    I wouldn't count on any of that too much. I have had 7 cameras stolen off private property that were inside camlock security boxes secured to a tree with 3 lag bolts, a master lock python cable lock and a master lock padlock. All stolen after 10/14/21 and before the morning of 11/20/21. The nearest road over a half mile away. No public land anywhere near. One was ripped completely off the tree. All padlocks and cable locks were also taken. I wonder if there is some easy to unlock the python locks or do trespasser carry bolt cutters? Of course, if the cables and padlocks were cut, why carry them away?

  • @jwalker4523
    @jwalker4523 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great it’s a lock box with a cable. You cannot screw these into a tree and have them secure. The whole point of a lock box is not to get your camera stolen. It’s pretty easy to cut a cable. You don’t need to waste money buying a lock box to use a cable lock.

  • @justinreddell5396
    @justinreddell5396 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I as well didn't have any fit issues with the security box and I don't have to take the antenna off to put the cover on the box. However, I can't imagine that the Tactacam team tested these out and were happy with the product they allowed to be produced. As previously mentioned you can't really put the python lock cable through the box and the camera at he same time. I did manage to run mine through the holes on the one side and through the holes on the opposite side but not through the holes on the camera, which locked the box to the tree in hopes that the lock placed on the front door of the box would keep folks from being able to get the camera out. They could have easily put some metal ears on the back of the box with hole to match up with the holes in the camera. The other major issues I have is you can't secure it to the tree and get it set with the angle and view you want then shut the door. I have to then loosen the strap pull the camera out of the lock box enough to get the door to shut then hope when I tighten back up on the tree it's aligned as I had it previously. It would be nice if the camera would just automatically go from "setup" mode to "on" mode after some period of inactivity rather then me having to manually switch it to "on". Unless it does that and I missed it in the manual. You can't connect to the wifi to see the live view unless in setup mode...right? Or am I doing something wrong there?

  • @MrSauce31
    @MrSauce31 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pretty decent box, I bought that exact one last night. I do not need to take antenna off. Doesn't look like you do either. Unless I'm missing something. You have your camera in your box with the front on, there's a gap on the front cover below the antenna, when the front slides up to the antenna, the front should come right off without interfering with the antenna. Good Luck With Pics!

  • @MrSauce31
    @MrSauce31 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those boxes are awsome. Bought one last night. Looks exactly like one in video. I don't need to take off antenna. Put camera in box, then top on, then front, very easy. It also looks like you don't need to take the antenna off since it looks exactly like mine. Could be wrong. Maybe they altered it slightly. I have a slightly smaller diameter python cabel that makes it easier to go up and over camera through the box. 👍 Luck on Great Pics!

    Now try to secure it to a tree, it debunks nothing. The front lid opens and you can remove -aka- STEAL the camera. Tactacam is overrated , form their GUI to there pricing and to their "security" boxes. I will stick with my Spypoints and their wayyy better security boxes. You must be a rep or something as I see you have a box of security boxes on ur bench so i get the slighted positive reviews.

      @@JSALVALZO, I guess I am not following your logic. When I run my python lock through the box, it runs over the top of the camera box and out the other hole. There is plenty of room for it to move freely inside of the box and allow me to attach it to a tree.

    Man I get what your saying and it should work perfectly out of the box, but the amount of time you took making the video and struggling with getting it to close you could have easily taken that flathead screwdriver and pry the gap open just a slight amount on the 4 hinges on the back of the front cover piece and it would at least fit together properly. The main issue with those boxes people complain about is that the camera needs to be shimmed inside to get the lens and sensor at the right height. I have the first gen cameras and boxes and it seems like they tried to fix the issue with the first gen boxes where someone could simply pry back the top cover of the lockbox to steal the camera out if it dldnt have a python cable as well.

    I do not have any fit issues with the Reveal X security box I received. I think you received a bad batch as BoondHunter previously stated. I do, however, have multiple issues with this security box. I will list the only one of my issues which is, in my mind, an absolute deal breaker. Unless I'm missing something you are unable to run a python lock through the metal of the box to lock the camera and box to the tree. The only method I could see to run a python lock was to put it through the plastic "feet" of the camera which protrude out of the box. I understand that locks are only keeping honest people honest, but that's a deal breaker for me. I want my python lock to run through the metal box and camera! There's my 2 cents.

    • @kd1883
      @kd1883 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ran a 1/2" drill bit thru the padlock hasp portion of the lock box and then thru the molded in plastic "loops" in the back of the unit itself and that made it workable with my Python locks. In my mind that's something they should take care of at the factory. Plus you can always lag the lock box to the tree to avoid using Python cables.
