Why do you need to grind off those bracket on front axle? Had the axle been mounted differently on '85 model then how you did mounted it when swapping it into '89?
One of them was for the steering stabilizer I didn’t need because of my high steer set up. The bracket for the leafs was different because I installed rear spring up front. Then I wanted to change the steering stops so yes I changed a few things.
Sick rig man! I think this might be an 83 or older axle from a pickup. The 84/84 axles had a longer truss
Thanks dude! You might be right. I thought it was an 85 donor that I got but could be wrong.
Nice swap. Hey can you tell me your rim size/pitch i like the stance on your 4runner!
17x9 Land Cruiser wheels thanks for watching
Nice bro!
Had an 89 4Runner with the V6. Other than the head gasket, which Toyota warrantied, it was a blast! I remember pulling my pop up camper to Nebraska and smoking my brother’s dodge durango with a magnum v8 pulling his camper, which was a bit heavier, but that Dodge couldn’t keep up. He also used twice as much gas. He sold that Durango and bought a Toyota 😂. I’m looking for an 85 and want to say congrats on your rig!
Thanks man they are awesome!
love your vid i have a 87 toyota pickup im having same issue but mine is a autozone starter wish i kept my old one, should i get a denso remanufactured?
If you have the time and money I would run OEM.
Great video. Thanks
Thank you for watching!
just had my 70 f100 4x4 snap the same spindle off same front right tire so unexpected
Can be very dangerous!
Did you get the wire harness and well? Trying to figure out what cost this would be for my 84 yota? Cheers mate
I wired my self didn’t want to spend the extra 1000$
Aww hell yea nice one
Thank you!
👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👑👑👑👑🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
hello! i'm interested in collaborating with you for our brands. can i have your email address or instagram to contact?
Great job!!! 👏
@@JrockTheCrusherF thank you for watching!
Thank you for taking the time to share this. I plan on doing this swap to my 86. 👊🏼Subscribed.
@@AlfredoVara-w7i right on let me know how it goes! I hope this was helpful
It is super gorgeous. You had a great job and good experience. My friend represent 1gen Toyota 4Runner❤❤❤❤❤
@@ToyotaSR51989 thanks for the love! Keep the rigs rolling!

Om606 would've been rowdy! 🤙🤙
@@jamesstilwell7955 what would have?
Om606 its a 2jz diesel engine lol @AGFreedom
@ I miss read the message lol I thought that was your TH-cam tag lol. Yeah that would be spicy but I’m not made of money and I like stuff I can find parts anywhere
Great vid. Good job boys!
you did a good job. I personally would use the factory rubber engine isolators instead of poly, you'll feel it.
Thank you! We will see how these mounts ride not hard to change them. Just had alot of bad luck with other mounts and know people who have gone threw a few.
If you got dual cases you need poly mounts the stock ones don’t last.
Can never have to much feedback from the engine and chassis. Can that stock sh!t. 😊
@@kylegage5975 people chain(limit) or run a bolt(drivers side) through stock mounts to stop tearout from dual case torque. also with duals, 2 stock transfer case mounts is a good idea too
@@kylegage5975 so far I can’t tell a difference on more vibration I’m happy!
Glad I could help! Also best place for wiring diagrams is just go to your local dealership and talk to service department, they can print off everything you need!
Right on that’s a great point!
Love the new motor bro. Sick 4runner.
Thanks for the love!
You finally put the engine in
Yes! I had a tough schedule this summer
I've got a thread that might be useful to you. "3RZ / 2RZ Swap Notes"
don't forget to check valve clearances. the exhaust valves especially. they tend to tighten up over time. that's the only thing that takes these motor down really. you'll probably have to get some shims. adjust the exhaust valves on the looser side of the specs as they will continue to tighten up over time. good luck with the swap. you'll love it.
@@liveoak7838 just got her running last night! I read all the forms ahead of time and made sure I did all my due diligence! Thanks for the info
*2.7 liter
*2.4 liter. It’s the second build I’m doing on the truck so build 2.0
Great vid man. Never seen the insides after oil sludges like that before
Yeah pretty wild. I think it had bad maintenance before my owner ship then a very long slow head gasket leak
How’d u go with the swap, easy? I have an 88 with a 4y-e looking to swap out
So far I have part 1 and 2 if you want to watch the videos on the process. I’m working on the last part and it’s been pretty smooth sailing
@@AGFreedom I’ll check them out, cheers
Need to drop that tire pressure
Naw I’m to lazy! And with lockers I wasn’t even slipping
You should get the LCE performance engine racing motor❤❤❤❤❤
lol you buy it for me and I’m in.
@@AGFreedom ahahahha I’ll put half on it
Once you fix this engine and paint it real good this engine will give you speed better than the 22RE You’re lucky that you have this engine in i’m still running the 22RE ❤❤❤
I wouldn’t say luck, but I’m very excited to see it run. Definitely hope it encourages people to make the swap
@@AGFreedom I know you’re swapping out the engine, but do you have to swap the transmission also or it will fit with your stock transmission the W 56?
@@ToyotaSR51989 that’s the awesome part of the 3rz swap you use the 3rz bell hosing in stock trans!
@@AGFreedom so it does fit on the transmission W 56 with the 3RZ engine Now I know I could buy a engine just like yours and just put it in with the stock 22RE transmission W56
@@ToyotaSR51989 correct! If you have a 22re it’s best to stick with the 3rz, if you have a v6 it’s best to keep it a v6 or you will have to swap transmissions
The 1st Gen going it be zippin

Brooklyn
Yes sir
I also have a 71 F100 4x4, broke the driver side spindle. Paid alot more than i should have for new spindles (decided to replace both). If you are watching this video, probably yours broke too.. but if not, strongly suggest inspecting them. Not much holding the wheel on once spindle breaks, basically just a snap ring.. I was lucky, mine popped while parking at work.
@@dalemitchell3794 very true I got very lucky I found the issue before bad stuff happened. Thanks for watching
👑👑👑👑👑🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
Awesome video😊
Thank you 😁
I got my celica running readjusted the shims in the bucket valves redid the timing and by god with like new compression and megan racing suspension it feels like it's flying out from under me. I cant wait to get it back in the dirt! Wooooooo!!!! 🫨
That sounds awesome!
Somebody killed a 22re! That’s impressive. Get a 4.7 out of a tundra, little modification and it’ll fit just right.
@@Dabeano15o2 over 400k she finally let go lol, a V8 would be cool but I want to stay 4cy already started the 3rz swap
V8 would unbalance the truck and is not better 😂
Add lightness to make a vehicle better not hp or displacement. 😊
@@jfriar the 4.7 are aluminum and actually really nice power to weight. Just not what I need. If it was a truck I’d consider but I enjoy the good gas mileage too
@@AGFreedom Toyota's fastest race car was a 2.0 and the first two test drivers broke ribs in corners because it was too fast. 😂 Inertia is a bitch.

@@rjmac3001 haha send it!
This is exactly how I will feel when the time comes to replace my 4Y-E with a 1UZ-FE 😂
I kept saying when my 22re let go I was going to do a swap, but I figured it would last 10 years not 2 lol
American? Must be nice to have so much excess money. In Europe (UK) if your car explodes you are pretty much fucked and need to cycle for a few years 😂
@@jackanarchycr7826 yeah unfortunately no. Thanks for assuming! I sold my broken engine for the same price I got the 2rz they sell very cheap around here because tacomas rust out. And 22res sell for good money
Factory SR5 seats are THE most comfortable seat for these rigs. I owned a '93 civic EX in '94 and those seats are vastly inferior to healthy SR5 seats.
You’re probably right but for 80$ it was a huge upgrade over paying 1000$ to fix the old seats.
Oklahoma is my favorite state!
Wouldn’t call it my favorite by a long shot lol, but man some of those Indian counties on the East are very beautiful!
@@AGFreedom that is true!
Felt this one. still waiting for my front suspension to be rebuilt after it said no on a Wednesday afternoon going 40 miles an hour.
That’s rough! Good thing is there’s always opportunities to refine and make things better!
@@AGFreedom Oh I’m going all out trust, it’s a setback for sure but I’d still rather take what I got over a brand new Kia or Hyundai
