Can someone explain how the two key shifts (Pause at 2:31 part 31 in your diagram) connects the selected gear to the wheel axle/driveshaft? I have a Lawnboy with the same gearbox. I've studied the diagram and can't figure it out. I've figured out that when you move the shift lever it slides that ring (part 33) which slides the two key shifts in and out to the selected gear (low, med, high) but I can't for the life of me figure out what is actually connecting the selected gear to the shaft!

Would have been a great video if only you had the camera actually showing what you were talking about instead of the side of the muffler. 😮

Just changed my alternator! Thanks for the video, life saver. My only concern was lifting the engine to take the alternator out. The body moves slightly when lifting the engine so just go slow and the engine will rise eventually.

ahhaha edits out the part of actually getting out the alternator, you may need to jack up the motor just a little to get it out, just a little hint for people.

use some of that youtube money and get yourself some battery operated power tools and some ratchet wrenches....

FYI... the actual term for the grease in the bottle is "double ought grease" ought as in zero. Two zeros. Thus.... double ought. If you ask one of the kids at O'Reilly's for it you'll get a funny look. I ask once and when we found it the kid said: "Oh yeah, double zero grease." I almost LMAO. Yes, No 2 grease is fine in these transmissions.

What is the size for screws on primer bulb?

You got the spring hooked on wrong on the carburetor side you got to put it on that little lip in the middle of it

I bought this exact mower today for $5. Missing the air cleaner and most of the springs. They have the choke zip tied. I’ll get it restored and rebuilt. This video gave me a heads up

It’s 2022 and I have a 2015 model. The engine mounting bolts have broken twice and Ive had several other small issues, but the low cost of repairs will keep my time master going. Paid $999 for mine, now they’re $1500. Not willing to pay the Biden inflation price.

I use springs on my b&g engine. My mower has no throttle on the handle, and I use another 2 springs for it to work. It’s a mess if you look at it but it gets the job done.

I think I may see what the problem is with the choke arm spring tension. The carburetor (outside) end of the spring should be hooked into the notch on the "finger" with the little arrow point at the end of the choke arm. This should increase the spring tension to allow the choke arm to function properly. Good video, though.
