Sneak Peek at the New Arcade
Howdy!
Finally all the games are in one (well two adjoining) rooms. Here is a sneak peek flyby of the arcade as I fine tune some things down in the new digs. I will make a more detailed video soon once all the dust has cleared.
Thanks!

Atari's Anti-Aircraft Arcade Coin-Op from 1975
มุมมอง 2K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Howdy! In this exciting video we check out an Anti-Aircraft from 1975, one of the very first arcade shooters from Atari. I also rattle on about selling my Liberator upright, and the progress of the Trak 10 restoration. Oh, and my voice sounds like crap because I am allergic to odd foods. Thanks for watching!
Sega Turbo Mini Arcade Cabinet Restoration
มุมมอง 1.7K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
Howdy! This time in the Arcade Chronicles we check out a restored 1982 Sega Turbo mini arcade cabinet, a variant of the standard upright cabinet that was released in the USA in late of 1981. This was a challenging game to restore requiring a good bit of both cabinet restoration and electronic work. Turbo was a revolutionary game within the realm of sprite scaling, a technique which would become...

Howdy! For those classic arcade game fans out there that really like to take a deep dive into rare gear in this video we check out a hyper rare Atari TF 101 testing unit. This was the very first Atari testing equipment item offered from Atari although they didn't even make it! You aren't likely to see another one of these very often since few were made and fewer have survived into the 21st cent...
Atari's Stunt Cycle Arcade Coin-Op from 1976
มุมมอง 2.4Kปีที่แล้ว
Howdy! This time in the workshop we talk about (and look at an example of...) the innovative arcade game Stunt Cycle from Atari! The game might have been influenced by a 70's pop culture celebrity, but it stands on its own as an important game in the history of video games. Thanks! Cassandra
Tips and Techniques for Applying Stencils on Classic Arcade Games
มุมมอง 1.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Howdy! I've been super busy but here is a quick video on some tips if you are interested in restoring your arcade game using stencils! Many classic arcade games used stencils and although some folks simply use ink jet prints to restore their games, they often lose the magic and originality of what stencils can provide. Stencils can be challenging to apply but can also be very rewarding. Thanks!...

Classic Arcade Game Restoration VS. Preservation
มุมมอง 10K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Howdy! In this video I rant and give my deep feelings (HA!) about the concepts around arcade game restoration in a modern reality of inkjet printed side art and reproduction parts... and why we need to move towards the concepts of preservation of originality in the hobby and tread carefully when using reproduction parts and "fixing" cabinets when they might be better off as-is. We look at two e...

The History of Super Pac-Man : From Pac-Man Fever, to a Mild Chill

Howdy! In this video I deep dive into the history of the arcade video game Super Pac-Man developed as the original sequel to Pac-Man by Namco and why Super Pac-Man doesn’t seem to share the same legacy as other Pac-Man sequels. We discuss the rather dodgy relationship between Namco and the US license holder for Pac-Man Bally/Midway and how a series of some what less than officially designed seq...

The side art made me think of Solar Fox, but Liberator has more details. The art on both cabinets makes me think of sci-fi books that came out around then or earlier. Anyway, I really like the side art and I'm glad you were able to save it.

Thank you for the video! I have the same cabinet but it was upgraded to MK 3 Ultimate, I found the original graphic artwork on the playboard underneath a cheap MK3 playboard paper decal and now have been trying to restore the cabinet. The CRT worked ok but not a great image I don't know enough about them to fix it sadly, I'm looking for a replacement option if you have any pointers. I had to replace all the joysticks and buttons and installed a new jamma harness that I can switch between the original board and a pandoras box (I know...)

I have a galaga arcade cabinet and I need to connect a wire that is is connected to the speaker and on the metal frame of the monitor ( it was originally like that to ground it). So those two wires would go on the bottom of the screw of the EMI filter or the isolation transformer? And dose that method applies to other transformer that looks likes yours for ground?

Hi there. I absolutely love this video on your arcade history. If you get a chance to come to Girard Ohio, you need to visit Past Times Arcade. They have over 600 games, ranging from mechanical to pinball to video. I love the video games, especially the ones from the 80s Era. Pong is definitely a classic. You should get computer space being its the first video game ever. Past Times Arcade has it near the front entrance. I absolutely love the facility. Check out the video I made on my December 30th 2023 visit. Musicman0150 is my other account.

This was so informative and well edited! You definitely gained a subscriber. I recently started becoming obsessed with the local arcade and building a MAME cabinet but don't have the money, know how, or space to start so I've just been looking at other people's collections and tours online and obsessing over them/learning as much as I can. Your channel is definitely one of the most informative I've come across. Thanks and keep up the good work!
