It's a shame but that boat is probably not worth repairing. It would never be worth what you put into it. Not every boat can be saved.

It sounds like the guy who tried to load it on the trailer didn't understand what he was doing. He should have run straps around the hull instead of tying to the cleat and rudder. That is a terrible shame. That rudder is $500 to replace. The Seaward is a well made boat, it's a good product, not cheap - they command good money on resale. This is way too much for me, but somebody might take it on. But the Seaward is not some junky boat, it is a quality product.

It should be opened up to the harbor and docks installed. Looking at it on Google earth there are hundreds of canals close by loaded with docks. A few more aren't going to make that great an impact on the environment and it'll increase the value of the land providing more tax dollars.. As for the Tarpon; its probably a good thing that it self released otherwise im not sure how you would have landed it and let it go..

Brian, when I was in the 9th grade (1965-'66), we lived in Marathon, about half a mile from the place where they kept and trained the Flipper dolphins. There were five or so they used for the TV show, depending on what tricks they needed. I'd stop and visit with them on the way to and from school. Amazing animals!
