Hello all! My name is Daniela (most people call me Dan), and I am a twenty-something trying to live a life that feels authentic but also slightly uncomfortable! I post content about going through challenging times, vlogs, reflections on young adult life, and the occasional travel video. My sister and I used to run a very successful YT channel called “Our Hidden Mermaid Life”, so I am excited to be returning to this platform almost 10 years later!
Alone & Abroad | Koh Lanta, Thailand
Henlo again,
In this video, I intended to walk you through my ideal day in Koh Lanta, Thailand, but my wandering thoughts and Koh Lanta’s beauty kind of derailed things. Anywho, enjoy this very scatter-brained piece. My only hope is that I adequately showcased just how stunning Koh Lanta is! I do not own the rights to any of this music. All credit to:

Henlo stinky birbs! In this video, I take you with me as I explore Bangkok, Thailand, my first stop on a 2.5 week backpacking trip. Bangkok was verdant, beautifully noisy, and all in all breathtaking. I hope to be back someday soon :) I do not own the rights to any of the music used in this video. Seeing myself through rose-colored glasses for a change

Henlo friends. In this video, I reflect on my solo trip to Prague, Vienna, and Budapest, detailing some of the more painful and beautiful revelations I came to. I know this video runs the risk of being disgustingly cheesy, but I had to share how I truly felt! Reading Kristin Neff’s books on self-compassion, coupled with a week’s worth of constantly showing up for myself led me to understand how...

Henlo squirrels. This video and the next one I’m going to post are some of the most meaningful I’ve ever made. Being alone in central/eastern Europe for 2 weeks was, as corny as it sounds, one of the most life changing experiences I’ve had. It was hard at times, and I did not go without my doubts. However, by the end, I found myself falling so deeply in love with life, my own solitude, and the ...

Henlo returning squirrels! August has been HARD, both emotionally and mentally. I’ve been working non-stop on personal projects, recovering from a breakup, and thinking about difficult life decisions. That’s why we are taking a weekend to relax, reset, and roam. Making this video had me feeling like a tourist again, which was so bittersweet! I hope everyone is doing okay out there! Much love xoxo.
WASHINGTON D.C. STUDIO APARTMENT TOUR | $1,750 | Logan Circle Neighborhood
มุมมอง 3K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Henlo squirrels! I return to you with yet another Washington D.C. studio apartment tour. This time, we are looking at my old apartment in the Logan Circle neighborhood, which was 390 sq.ft but highly functional! I loved almost everything about living here. The quiet, the DISHWASHER, the minimalism, and MORE! Leave any questions you may have in the comments!
Healing from a #breakup
มุมมอง 4585 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hi all. I poured my heart out in this video and it’s a bit embare bare! But yes, going through a breakup of any sort is incredibly sad and uncomfortable so I of course had to turn to my favorite form of art to get out some of my reflections. Cheers to being young and getting your heart broken multiple times if it means waiting for the person you know you deserve :) Music is not mine. All credit...

Trying a New (to me) DC Coffee Shop on a Poopy Day
มุมมอง 1258 หลายเดือนก่อน
Henlo handful of viewers. Today, it is rainy, cold, and lifeless outside. That's why we are headed to a new coffee shop called Elle Cafe in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood! This coffee shop definitely did not disappoint! I am a bit of an espresso snob, and I can confidently say this was a very smooth latte. I also ordered a guava turnover which was delicious and reminiscent of my days in Hawaii. ...
A Week in a Working Squirrel's Life
มุมมอง 2399 หลายเดือนก่อน
Henlo and happy spring! In this video, I take you through a rather standard work week in my life. I hope you can see a piece of yourself in the monotony or the small ups and downs that come with this little rat race we find ourselves in. All things considered, I'm very grateful to have a job that affords me the chance to live in DC.
23 Things I Learned at 23

As I depart this wonderfully unpredictable, sensitive age, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the things I learned along the way. Through all of the painful mistakes, calculated risks, laughs, pleasant surprises, and blunders, I find myself incredibly grateful for these past 365 days. I look forward to everything 24 has in store. I do not own the rights to this music. All credit to: Acoust...

Lower your expectations in many things, stop comparing yourself to others. There are hundreds of millions of people who don't have a partner and have a good life. And even if one day you think this is the right person, how sure are you that in 5-10-15 years it will still be the right person or that he won't die before his time? Learning to live alone is good but not easy to do and not everyone can do it. That's what my daughter's generation should learn.
Hi , lovely videos . My goal is to travel and donate to poor communities

I used to be obsessed with you and your sisters mermaid videos when I was like 11!! I’m 24 now 😂
Sorry for this But I thought you must be in your mid to late thirties Ooopps my bad Glad you enjoy your ocean time 🤙
good video keep it up
cool to see you drive the scooter!! i won’t tell 💪🏽

11:22 Reject modernity, embrace unconscious-snail tradition 🐌
First of all, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this video, and I must say, your storytelling and editing skills are truly unparalleled. If you haven’t ventured into blogging yet, it seems like a natural extension of your gift-it’s rare to see such innate talent shine so effortlessly. Sometimes, peace of mind is beyond value; as you gaze over the ocean, reflecting on life’s next steps, it’s a moment of clarity that many seek but few truly find. Growing up in Florida, I often found myself doing the same until I manifested a life of full-time travel. I see an abundance of grace and promise in you-cherish your 20s and allow them to unfold without haste. True maturity as a woman blossoms beautifully in her 30s. As a solo traveler since 2016, I resonate deeply with the balance of loneliness and self-discovery-it’s a paradox that fosters growth. Even as an introvert, I’ve gradually broken free from my shell, and I see echoes of that journey in your content. Your vlogs are captivating, and I’m genuinely excited to see where this path takes you next. Keep inspiring-your journey is magnetic. -Leon
Thank you so much, that means a lot!! I hope you keep up your passion of making videos as well :)
@ I’m just getting started 😉
Booking my flight to Thailand after watching, need to visit that coffee shop!
You should bring an umbrella and a fan with you and drink a lot of clod water that can help reduce the heat. First a few day you are not get use to the warm weather, you should go inside the building and walk outside 1-2 hours in the morning after that you'll ok enjoying a trip to Thailand.
I really enjoyed your videos: I hope you do this full time
I'm lonely when i 'd not see her.🎉🎉

Great video ,i have been to bangkok on 2021,great vibes
Thank you! I will consider Thailand!!
The cooking class looked wonderful, as did the rest of Bangkok!
the trip looked so stunning omg can't wait for part 2!
Hello queen 👑❤️
NYC has lots of nature easily accessible. Start with Breakneck Ridge, you don't even need a car to get there. That being said, choose carefully if you want to be able to easily go for a run (without a highway next to you or having to stop at intersections).
Hey Daniela thanks for the review and by the way diving in w/ Daniela sounds catchy 😊 Question: what neighborhoods would you recommend for a newbie moving to DC wanting to be close to everything, also safety and no car? Also, when you mentioned people being really driven and like talking politics was this friends/colleagues working for the govt? Or private sector? This is something I wonder about as well, as I'm looking for a city with lots of opportunities but also need something more laid back as I'll be coming from lovely Prague in EU And where to next?
Hey there! I’d recommend Logan Circle or DuPont Circle for a newbie! Both are very safe, lively, and have great public transit. To be near most metro lines, I’d say Logan circle takes the cake. Mt. Vernon and Shaw are also great! Honestly I’d say people are like that across both private and public! It’s because DC in general draws a lot of book smart-smarty pants relative to other US cities I’d say. But regardless, you will find your group!! And not everyone is that way by any means :) I’ve been to Prague and I think DC is a great city to go to next! Just not nearly as beautiful
Oh wow! Thank you for your reply!!! I really appreciate it!! And yes I agree, Prague is hard to beat beauty wise! Looking forward to more vlogs!!😊
As a Michigander that has been living in DC for going on 2 years, if I move from this area, it will be to Chicago.
That said, I think you will probably move to Boston. Early 20s, I would go with the gut feeling tbh.
My unbiased vote is for Chicago
excited to see where you go!! sad you didn’t choose miami
Noch ein Meisterwerk 🤩 Danke
thank you for pointing out Central Europe in the notes. The Stalin Statue was made fun of by Praguers (there were standard communist themed people lined up behind Stalin which was named the "meat line," since during Communism people were always waiting line for things like meat and bananas). They always considered the Communist times as an occupation.
Suggestion, I'd put the television and entertainment piece, on wall where entry door is. Sofa would be facing the tv. Bed can be moved closer to where the closet area is. This way, there is a better flow with kitchen and living area. Try it, just to see. However your apartment is very nice.😊
Dear Daniela, Thanks for sharing these intimate thoughts with us! How are you feeling these days compared to when you made the video? You're a beautiful person, I wish we could talk about all those things in person:(
Hi! You reached out to Portugal! 🥰
Tolles Video! 😍
My first German fan! 😆
Love your videos!
Thanks crow!
the nova highlight!!
Nice place!
I found your vlog looking for info on the DC half-marathon. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with that but I still binge watched your videos. If you're still in DC for the half and see a guy running by on top of a dinosaur, please say hi to a fan!
Oh, and sorry to hear about how long your runs have been (because I watched the video where you said if you're stressed the mileage goes up ;). I hope the beer was everything you dreamed it would be. I run by a brewery and always think how cool it'd be to stop there for a drink. But I'm also mostly sober and the fear of dehydration stops me.
Awesome!!
Cool vlog, that ice coffee looked 🔥 I never been to D.C. Thanks for sharing.
I love that you are so open to healing through acts of kindness.
I really appreciate that, and honestly never even thought of it that way! Thank you for the new perspective :)

DC is my favorite city to visit. I always drive from NYC to DC every year to visit the museums and monuments.
