Great video! I have a recently acquired original Xbox S controller with a broken up and left d-pad input that was not solved by cleaning, and I suspected some other components along the path were to blame (the PCB is very dirty). It was nice to see your thought process, which is similar to what I started to do with mine. Hopefully I can fix it!

I found out it won't charge unless it's plugged into a USB output of 2.5 amps. The old phone .2 amp chargers just make the power light glow, the 1.5 amp USB makes a fast blink but it won't charge. After plugging it into a 2.5 amp USB it has a steady slow blink and charges. If it has an original Nikon charger put a load on it to find out how many amps it puts out.

You can fix this without taking it apart just by twisting the joystick back into place with your fingers
