Analog Sine width modulation of sorts.
มุมมอง 9638 ปีที่แล้ว
I am doing a few tests in the studio and playing with combinations of ring modulators, wave folders and crossfaders, Found a simple way to do analog Sine Width Modulation and decided to film the results. A fundamental Sine (coming from an Intellijel Rubicon) is sent to a ring modulator (Intellijel uMod II) and doubled into both its inputs, this causes the ring modulator to output an octave up S...

Why can I never have enough VCAs? Part 3 - Wrapping up modulation and a few other pointers. We look at the Intellijel MicroMod2 or uMod II.
Why can I never have enough VCAs? Part 2 - VCAttenuverters and beyond!
มุมมอง 17K8 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the second video in the tutorial series, Why can I never have enough VCAs? In this episode we look at the first channel of the Abstract Data - Wave Boss. We focus on dynamic inversion and talk a little about wave shaping, amplitude modulation and four quadrant multiplication or "ring" modulation as it is often called.

Why can I never have enough VCAs? Part 1 - Types and basic usage.
มุมมอง 52K8 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the first part of this video tutorial series. In the series we explore the VCAs many uses and the many different types of VCAs you can find. In this first episode we look at the Intellijel uVCA and talk about BIAS settings, linear vs exponential VCAs and explore a few basic uses for the VCA.
Why can I never have enough VCAs? Part 0 - Introduction

Here is why you can never have enough VCAs. This is part 0 - Introduction to a coming video series about VCA usage in a modular synth environment. If you would like me to feature one of your modules in a video or tutorial, feel free to contact me.
uVCF sounds and further tips and tricks
มุมมอง 2.9K8 ปีที่แล้ว
My second instalment of uVCF videos. This time focusing on sounds and modulation possibilities. It is a bit longer then the other one. But If you really want to hear a filter you need some time. Also it has quite a wide range of sounds.
Multiple uses for Intellijel uVCF and multi mode filters in general.
มุมมอง 3.9K8 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I try to explain a few Multiple uses for the Intellijel uVCF multymode filter. Much of this information is available here and there on the net but I decided to try to get it into a single video. Also the uVCF is one of my favourite modules and has been a great tool for learning to use the modular. There are probably a few typos in the text, this is normal, I am dyslexic and also e...

Module Demo - MD-003 Paws Filter - Low Pass Tambers
มุมมอง 6229 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is about MD-003 Paws Filter. The Paws is a quad multi mode filter designed by Mario Volkel, based on the wasp filter design. It has jumpers on the back to select a filter type for each of the four filters. This demo features a single channel in lowpass mode. Only 10 PCB sets were made and this is the first one built, it was built by Mario himself and has a unique black faceplate with...

6 voice modular poliphonic patch. Patch notes: Circadian Rhythms triggers drum modules and works as a master clock. Drum modules are from tiptop and are run through a korgasmatron 2 from intellijel. A trigger from Circadian is divided by a deopher A-160-1 clock divider and sent into various inputs on the Z8000 matrix sequencer. The Z800 is set up in an algorithmic fashion so that each step on t...

Thanks for the explanation. I couldn't find any other demos of this unit on Ytube. I haven't looked at the whole circuit board... all I could see was TL07x opamps. Is this all done with opamps ?... no multiplier chip ? I wonder.

if im understanding this correctly, if you use it as an oscillator the lp outputs the sine and the hp outputs the inverse sine, does the bandpass output the cosine?

Tambour: www.google.com/search?q=tambour You mean timbre. /ˈtambər/ noun: the character or quality of a musical sound or voice as distinct from its pitch and intensity.

Thanks Frank! how come nobody makes a "liner/log" - voltage controlled attenuVERTER? Is it because of bleed and sound when used as a traditional VCA? looks like the ADE-30 is discontinued and even the style in the video is hard to find.

BIG RESPECT for sharing your knowledge! I wouldn’t know where to begin with the modular gear, having come from semi modulars, like the Moog Mother 32 or Behringer’s Neutron! I see that I have VCAs in the semi modulars, but I don’t so often remember that there are so many different forms of VCA. They are more like a Kingdom or Class of life! Not like a Species! Your final VCA example, bringing in and closing out of the FM, it is really a great eye opener for me! THANK YOU so much for sharing!
