Same here!
This is helpful for me being new to making candles. I think I would only be able to handle business part time. Also hello, from the Akron/Canton area!
Fun video! I would have loved to hear how much the jars were!! They’re beautiful! 💚
I am using the wooden wicks in my jars.
I enjoy all of your videos. Yes! I do have the same jars, the only problem I am having is finding the boxes for them. Can you help me. I am a candle maker as well.
That pink would be awesome for my Cranberry Apple… very pretty !
@@TrishOliverAll_Things_Trish that’s the first thing I poured into it when I got that jar. Cranberry Apple Marmalade is perfect for that jar! I have that scent year round and it’s my #1 seller soooo…I’ve decided to go with something brand new for this one. I’m getting ready to test Winter Citrus Wreath from Hive and Honey. I think it’ll be a winner too.
@@roundtowncandleco8579 💯. Good choice !
this video was full of money-saving tips and gorgeous jars. okuuurrr!!!! seriously, the wick split is genius. i love all of those posh jars though i have to say, i am partial to that yummy chocolate color. omggosh, you can keep that all year round it's stunning.
@@couturehomeandbody I can’t wait to test that chocolate color jar. I have a feeling it’s gonna be next level. 🤎
@@roundtowncandleco8579 how many diff colors do they do?!
@@couturehomeandbodythey have several different colors in stock, and you can actually customize a color too which is awesome and also dangerous. 🤣😂
Those jars 😍
@@calafiacandleco aren’t they absolutely gorgeous?! I already can’t get enough. I’m afraid I’ll have to try every color.
Great video Jessica! Thanks for sharing. Love the Posh jars, it’s one of my favourite to use in my own candle line.
@@LisaKelly-cl2xn thanks for watching! I’m so excited to see how these jars do when they hit the shelves. I’m obsessed! 😍
enjoy watching your vedio
@@Loecandles thank you!! 😊
YOU SEEM FRIED! Your poor brain/body! Um, I think you may need some help with organization and efficiency. FOCUS. INHALE. There is no need whatsoever for your space to look like this. I believe it just adds to the "pressure" and "panic" of trying to get your candles ready for launch. You may even be a procrastinator? I'm not sure why you are even putting yourself in this position to be ready to launch before you are ready. I wish you all the best, but look at yourself and take ownership for what you are adding to your stress levels. On top of that, businesses all seem to drop in AN ELECTION YEAR. So go easy on yourself, know that you are special and allow yourself some breathing room.
@@stevechappellie904 thanks for watching! I totally agree with you that my space shouldn’t look like it does in the video. My business took off a lot faster than I anticipated, and I clearly wasn’t prepared. Thankfully, I’m planning on moving the candle studio soon, and of course that will be another video. As hard as it is to face some of these challenges, it’s going to make for a great look-back one of these days. I definitely see myself and take ownership which was the entire purpose of the video. I think most, if not all, small businesses deal with some level of stress, disorganization, etc. It’s part of the learning process and a sign of growth. I’m grateful for the temporary stress, late nights, and messy room I had to deal with because my launch was amazing!! (Side note: definitely not a procrastinator 😉)
I love the authenticity of your sharing here. We all understand 100%. Do you have any helpers?
@@cupofintention thank you so much! It really does help to know I’m not the only one. The candle community is pretty amazing! I don’t have any helpers, but you asking that question just sparked another video topic. Thank you!! 😊
@@roundtowncandleco8579 Yes! You are more than ready for helpers! It is a game changer. I work out of my home and still pay helpers.
I am actually in this phase as well I went from barely having any markets or orders to now picking up and getting in some shelfs in stores so trying to figure out a flow that works is so HARD!!!!
@@FurbabiesnFun23 yay for growth!!! I think it’s a lot of trial and error when it comes to finding a good flow. And sometimes it seems like as soon as you find it, you get busy and outgrow it. 🤣 Best of luck to you! ❤️
All I could do was laugh as you did the tour. 😂 It’s crazy juggling and fumbling through everything. I with you though I love what I do and the pride it gives me doing it.
@@jasonrichards4066 I’m laughing too, and I’m also super grateful I haven’t fallen yet. There’s definitely been a couple close calls. 🤣😂 I’m glad I’m in good company, and you’re so spot on about the feeling of pride.
when you said you only add in the newest items to apply the discount and the code does not change..I wonder when you added her specific candle if that is where the problem is (maybe a button that says default to this item being the free item in the cart got selected, etc). I would do a fake order with her specific items in the cart (because maybe its the other two that is the problem-maybe something got selected that says do not apply discount to this item so its defaulting to more expensive one!) and see if that triggers the difference.
@@rastascoob thanks for the input. I did a mock order and it was perfect for me. Even Shopify said it was working on their end, and they couldn’t find any issues with the discount. I guess it was a random glitch. Thankfully I haven’t had any trouble since. Fingers crossed!!
Don't be hard on yourself!!!! Is creative chaos as every maker is having. Remember about your mental health 😊 I wish you all success.
@@aga_n916 you are so right! Thank you for the reminder. 🥰
You should let that customer make her purchase where she gets the expensive item for free
@@galaxia4709 she didn’t feel comfortable knowing that it wasn’t right. We got things all worked out, and she was able to make her purchase. 😊
Just curious but how do you ventilate your candle studio
@@angiebee20 our first floor has 10’ ceilings and it’s an open floor plan which I think helps to keep the scent from being overwhelming in any one room. Additionally, we have an air purifier.

@@TheSouthShoreStudio hello to my fellow buckeye! O-H!! Testing is definitely a daunting task, and it’s so frustrating to have a scent you like be so hard to wick. Hang in there. You can do it!! ❤️🩶
@@roundtowncandleco8579 I-O!! I'll keep trying! It's pretty great when you get a combo that works.

Hi Jessica, I wish I had more orders like yours. You are tired but you are a great person to share the way you did. Bless you!
Thank you, sweet friend. Don’t give up! It takes a lot of trial and error to find what works best.
Have a great launch...Thanks for sharing... I'm right there with you. So busy ...so little sales...it's gonna get better for all of us Universe do your thing!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yesssss!! Universe, please do your thing!! And remember that being so busy will ultimately lead to sales. Don’t give up!! ❤
All the best on the launch. I totally get you. I did a re org of my room. It took a while but it's much better now. Have a break, a walk. Thank you for sharing.
I love the advice to have a break and take a walk. I need to remember how impactful that can be when things are getting heavy. Thank you! ❤
Wow did I really need to see this video! I’m working out of the smallest room in our house and I work full time. I ran out of space ages ago but somehow am still making it work. I’m glad I’m not the only one tripping over stock and boxes! I’ve only just cleared a little room by packing wholesale orders when I got home from work. I think I’ve cleared enough space to walk 😅
Oh my goodness, yes! There’s nothing quite like the feeling of creating a good walking path! 😂 Congrats on the wholesale orders, and thanks for watching!
I can’t wait until I get to this point! Working hard for something that’s yours and that you love ❤

I’m on the struggle bus with you and also love it. I’ve taken over 2 rooms in the house so far 😂
Two rooms?! Oh that’s great!! I think if I take over any more rooms I’ll get kicked out. 😂 But in all seriousness, it’s so fulfilling to create something and watch it grow. I wish you the best!! ❤
I feel ya, I’m right there with you friend! My small business space is also overflowing out of a tiny spare bedroom. Hooray for us growing though!✨ Keep up the great work!👏 I’m sure you’ll be expanding into a beautiful big space soon!🙌 Wish you all the best✨
Yessss!!! I love that you get it, and I'm so happy to be in good company! Thank you for watching.

Thank you! The launch was great, but not without its own drama. That video will be coming up next. Haha!
For my wicks I took a couple (because I have too many I needed two) over the door shoe organizers and sorted my wicks in them. I get the ones with the clear pockets so I can read the labels . 😊
@@TrishOliverAll_Things_Trish that’s a great idea! Funny how everyday simple things can be transformed into some of the best candle tools & storage. Thanks for watching!

And can you mix and match colours? I tried messaging manufacturer and i don’t get good response from them. maybe because it is much harder to ship to Canada? Thank you for sharing.

Don't give up. I don't have a retail store and sell at events, this is my thirds year, but I took May, June, July off as summer months are slow. I have a couple of events in August, but my focus this year will be Sept. - Dec. The end of the year is really the best time for me. However, this year has been slow for me and others from what I have heard in other soap and candle groups. Also, I usually have a mix of items as my sister and mother make jewelry and some decor.
@@anastasialujan6238 that’s awesome you get to add some handmade items along with your candles. I agree the summer is slower which isn’t a terrible thing as it gives us time to prep for busy season. I’ve kept my store open during the spring and summer and have actually had decent sales. It’s convenient for me though because it’s next to the building where I work full time, so it’s easy to pop over when someone stops by. I hope you have a great fall & holiday season! Thanks for following along. ❤️
I sell 45-50K candles a year. I shut down between Mother's Day and Labor Day every year.
@@crykyt I know several people who shut down or at least scale back during spring and summer. It’s definitely not a bad idea at all. I’ve stayed open because my store is on the property where I work my full time job, so it makes sense for me to stay open. Sales have surprised me this year, but of course it’s nothing like what’s to come in the fall & winter seasons. Hope you’re enjoying your break and you have a great fall! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Thanks for sharing!
@@cindyedmiston9304 you’re welcome! I’m so grateful you’re following along with me on this journey. ❤️
Jessica can you give me some tips on how you started your online business? Did you use facebook groups?
Hi Sally! I didn’t join any facebook groups, but I did create a business facebook page. I just started with friends and family and it spread organically from there.
@@roundtowncandleco8579 How do you grow organically after friends and family?
Probably a combination of things, less discretionary spending due to inflation as well as why people purchase decor. In our store we see less movement in the summer/spring of all decor/art work. When I ask our customer why they are purchasing decor items, usually they are looking for gifts.
Very good points! I’m hoping by fall/holiday shopping time things will start moving. Thank you so much for watching! ❤
What about bundle deals, pick a home decor item and a candle for a discount? Or gift baskets?
Love the idea of the bundle deal!! Thanks, girl! I appreciate it greatly! ❤
Maybe gift baskets with leftover items? Love your shop!
That’s a great idea!! Thank you so much. ❤
