That was nice!! Lovely colors you have!🎉🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks like you are ready for the big month Kat!🎉 Are you going to do the official Inktober list or another? I love the yellow acrylic ink and the turquoise ink by Sennelier 😍 I don't use much inks, I bought my first inks this year and the ecoline liquid watercolour I bought a basic primary set years ago that I never used 😂😂 in fact I revamped it this afternoon!
I want to do the official prompts just to challenge myself because I have trouble sticking to a prompt list. The Ecoline inks are great for refilling their brush pens even if you don't use them for anything else.
Exciting and inspiring watching you getting ready!
this is beyond satisfying ☺☺
Thanks 😊
Lovely ink 🖋️ ❤🎉
I like your Art work so much! Well done👍
Thank you so much 😀
Where to find these challenges?
I've listed a few in my description. Otherwise I usually find them via instagram, when someone posts that they are going to take part or even once they start posting work.
I absolutely agree that art challenges are the best way to improve quickly and have done lots myself 🥰
Thanks. Which one is your favourite? I saw you are gearing up for Peachtober :D
❤❤❤
Great video and tight editing. Love your bright use of colours! One suggestion - you have your camera set to autofocus while drawing, and it is zooming in/out in the same shot as your hand moves around. If you manual focus/lock focus on your paper it'll stop that distracting in/out zoom
Thanks
Well done on completing the challenge! Your sketches are great! Loved this video ❤ I think I'm going to do an October challenge, maybe Peachtober.
Oh Peachtober is a good one. I feel like it doesn't really suit my art style but it does seem to have a very supportive community around it.
@sketchingtheworldwithkat I like how open ended her prompts are. You can take them in lots of different directions
Loved every page😍😍
Thanks so much :D
Congratulations Kat for completing the 3 materials challenge 🎉 so many great drawings! 🤩 I love to follow the # of this challenge and meet new artists but I realise that this challenge didn't suit me, I tried it for the second year and it doesn't work 😅 and that's OK, there much more challenges out there I can go for!
I'm exactly like that with folktale week. I love the work other people do but it just doesn't work for me.
Congratulations Kat. This might be my next thing to do because I’ve suddenly gone on a “go-slow” after drawing everyday. True if you’re consistent then there has to be some good pages in there even if some are awful. Loads of inspiration in your videos. Those Jackson’s sketchbooks are so good and I’ve bought every size.
Going slow is also good :D I've got the huge Jackson's sketchbook and it's a bit intimidating to work in!
They’re so inexpensive! I was so broke but wanted an giant A3 SO BAD and even after tax and shipping I got one for only like ten bucks!
Like your paintings so much. Especially the one in the breakfast cafe and the bus. The rest was also great!!!❤🎉
Thank you so much 😀
Lovely video ❤ you can’t work very detailed with this crayons. But i love the paint you made with it. Greetz from the Netherlands
Thank you! Cheers!
Great review thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous colours, their quality seem similar to the Neopastels and Gallery (2 of my favourites oil pastels)! The Senneliers are amazing and expensive 😂 but I find them extra buttery for my taste. What are your favourites Kat?
I really like the Mungyo ones but I haven't really tried Neopastels. I'd say these are as soft as the Sennelier.
🖼️👍its really soft and creamy , ❤ I need to buy it for next times
You should!
Hello Kat! This was so fun, and I watched it a couple of times to make sure I really saw everything. I was cracking up as you showed your new sketchbook, the size, then all those people behind you cheering/waving, haha! I look forward to your videos, and learn new things all the time. I love the umbrellas sketch, and the roller coaster one, and the little bridge one that you didn't have footage of. I really like them all though. I like your honesty about struggles as I can relate as I learn to sketch more. Thank you for being inspiring. I am looking up my local chapter for sketchers in the Midwest USA. Found one not too far. Thank you! Paula
The urban sketchers groups are great even if you're really introverted because you can wander off and sketch on your own. Also great because if there are a bunch of people sketching, you don't get that individual attention :D
@@sketchingtheworldwithkat Thank you, as I am pretty introverted, especially about my sketching!
This is beautiful❤️
Thank you
Wow this is so cool! I love that your art is so carefree, it really inspires me to go against my perfectionism and try this out for myself! Great video😃
Thanks. Definitely give it a try :D
I own this set, & I plan to buy more: *I "so" ❤ this brand of paint* 👏
It's really good quality for the price.
fantastic work, watched and enjoyed till the end 😊😊
Thank you so much 😀
Lovely 😊You've inspired me to take my sketch book outside😂
Go for it!
The most child-like sketches are often the most popular on IG, Flickr or whatever. Hyperrealism isn't necessarily the best. Jean Michel Basquiat is 1 of the best examples of an artist who skyrocketed to fame for his scribbles. The most popular urban sketchers are far from realistic in their renderings. It is hard to for me to be loose as an autistic. Your art is lovely!
Thanks
You can delete this and I hope you don't take offense but you do not need to use a filter over your face. We don't care if you look refreshed or have makeup on. We're here for your beautiful spirit and fun, unique, creative art
Thanks, I guess 😊
You are super brave Kat, not only you went for a bigger sketchbook, you also face new experiences drawing on location 🤩 I love your looseness and colours, so good!
Why is it even so scary to be 'caught' sketching in public? LOL, I'm sure I did much worse in public in my younger days.
Exactly! 😄 Unfortunately as we age we think more about what others may think ... we got to change our mindset 🤪 @@sketchingtheworldwithkat
It's crazy because the older we get, especially women, the more invisible we become.
Fabulous. Going big was a good move and your drawings are the best. I love all the pics with umbrellas. That’s one lovely sketchbook.
Thanks so much 😊I might need to spend some time just sketching umbrellas to get over my fear. I did that with bicycles once and it really helped.
Your videos are as bright and fun as your sketches. I look forward to each one! Two years ago I left my comfort zone to try out colored pencils. It was not a success, but how else to find out? Next trip I am bringing a small brightly colored sketchbook along after being inspired by one of your videos.
It's better to try something and find out you don't like it. Good luck with the bright sketchbook!
Great video, tfs. I don’t like doughnuts either so I’m with you on that. 👍 This past weekend our local Plein Air group did a session on a canal here in the UK. I tend to like buildings, not countryside, ‘cos trees in the Summer have too many leaves and I can’t work out how to sketch them! 😀
Yes! Someone else who doesn't like doughnuts. I'm not great with trees or nature either. But canals sound really fun.
Loved this video!!!
Glad you liked it!!
Thanks really great
It would be really cool if you gave some tips on brush work your touch is really delicate. Lovely colors.
Wow, I've never really thought about my brushwork before, tbh. Thanks
I love all your videos so much. I am in an ink mode lately, haha. Loving all the inks and hadn't heard of this one. The other items are so nice too. That really bright one should come in handy too at some point. Love hauls as I learn so much about newer items.
Thanks. I've got so many inks. I can't believe I never had a yellow 💛
I've been contemplating drawing inks.. I may try that one. The graphite block was cool. I feel I should dig out and use similar things I have .. but that one looked very cool
I really like the Sennelier inks but they have a really shellac mix so are hard to work over.
Some people use the tear off palettes for collage when they are full of acrylic paints, avoiding it going to the landfill in the end :) nice colours 😍 yellows always make me happy!
That's a fantastic idea. I've never been a big fan of yellow until recently.
The tear off palette was a game changer for me when using acrylic paints but I use an old fashioned metal enamelled plate for gouache.
That's a good idea. I have a ceramic palette for regular gouache but the enamel plates look so cool.
I watch your videos in enjoyment
Thank you
@@sketchingtheworldwithkat my pleasure
@@sketchingtheworldwithkat thank you for replying me no one has replied to my comment😥🥺🥰🥰
Good🎉
Every page of that sketchbook so enjoyable 😊
Thank you ❤️
Oh, that must have been tough. Take care of yourself.
Thanks :D
You have such a good eye for the 3 materials drawing challenge, the combinations of colours are great and the drawings superb! Take care Kat :)*
Thank you so much 😀
What pencils are you using? Such fun work, thanks for sharing!
Mostly the Caran d'ache luminance. I have a few prismacolours and others thrown in.
Loved the 3 material sketchbook show in tell! I feel inspired!
I'm so glad! thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for sharing your sketchbook with us all. I'm so sorry to hear about your stay at the hospial too - I know it's no fun. Do you think you may have to have hip replacemet or it hasn't gotten that far yet (I hope it hasn't)? Stay strong, keep sketching as much as you can. If you can get outside (without walking because I know you're in pain) and in nature that will help you mentally, you know. Nature always has a way of reaching us and calming us 🙂. Looking forward to your next video and I just found you on Instagram too! 🙂
Thanks. I don't really know anything until I have my specialist appointment this month. Hopefully I won't need a hip replacement.
Lovely video. Which Luminance orange is that when you mention your Alma Mater? It’s dynamic and vibrant. Also; for the #3 materials challenge, how do you select colours? What’s an easy approach - to aim for a light, middle and dark tone? It’s just that I always feel a little overwhelmed with choices / options. Hope your health stays on the up too!
The orange is dark cadmium orange (#533). I don't really have a process for picking materials. The light, middle, dark would be easiest way to do it but I use different approaches. Sometimes I have a particular material I want to use so pick two others to go with it, other times it's just colours I have left over on my palette. I have a little box of things I got to test out, like a few intense blocks etc so sometimes pull something out of that. It can be good to use materials that blend well so that you get a dark tone that way.
@@sketchingtheworldwithkat Thank you for the ##533 orange. And, nice idea to try out new materials for the 3 materials challenge. Keep the videos coming, love them!
Great little sketchbook! You have inspired me to dig out my favorite storage tins to use for practicing my drawing. Wishing you good health xx
Thanks so much. Good luck with the sketching.
It's fun to see the coffee shops you go to all over the world. Just please don't start a hospital series! Your color combinations are fantastic.
Yeah, I'd prefer to. Thanks so much.
A hospital series?
8 or 9 hours waiting? 😮 Those Jackson’s cheap sketchbooks are the best. As always, loving your work, especially the 3 materials challenge pieces.
It was a crazy wait. I think they are really understaffed.
@@sketchingtheworldwithkat hey I really wanted an a3 sketchbook and even with shipping this sketchbook was only like 11$ for an A3 size for me. K, so my question is, can it handle any wet mediums as all? A light wash? Gouache? Acrylic? Watercolor pencils etc
@@sketchingtheworldwithkatAlso, I'm only bugging you about the sketchbook because I can't find a singular review anywhere!
