    Used cartridge shavers and even electric foil shavers and still got irritation and bumps, this is the last solution so I hope for the best.

    Having very sensitive skin and a very tough beard, the opposite has always happened to me: 1 blade, the hair remained ingrown and caused irritation. 3 blades, perfect shave and never a single irritation.

    I still prefer the multiblade razors. I rarely ever shave very large portions of my skin (only in my private area and under my armpits) and in most cases i use a trimmer to keep everything tidy. But as previously mentioned, I still use the multiblade razors for delicate areas. I find them much more maneuverable and less likely to cut due to all the movements. It's like a potato skin peeler, you wouldn't want to use it to cut large parts of a coleslaw with it, but for a potato or carrot it is perfect.

    reducing the amount of blades doesnt reduce the amount of pressure applied onto your skin in fact it increases it to a more focal point

    I almost exclusively use a safety razor. I keep a cheap disposable one for sensitive or hard-to-reach spots (like under nostrils or along my Adam's apple) but that's it.

    I struggle with acne believe it or not... Age 32.. And when I switched over to one of those old school DE razors, I noticed my skin didn't get "pissed off" like it used to.. Meaning it doesn't cause breakouts.. I also notice when I go nice and easy on the razor (not pressing down hard) helps with those break outs as well. Last one and I'm done.. Applying a (generous) amount of VaniCream as a aftershave really helps soothe the skin.. Ok bye.

    I was a big fan of safety razors. Still use them for a quick shave, but even they don't compare to a straight razor. Especially since I now wear a beard, you just can't get the lines and edges so crisp with a safety razor as you can with a straight razor.

    Yes! I just used a DE safety razor today and an amazing razor! Much better than the 5 blade Gillette, etc! Close shave, WITH THE GRAIN TOO, no irritation, no bumps, no cuts, no burns, etc. And yes, that is coming from someone with sensitive skin. Plus, the price is much better too.

    I learned during the lockdown. I switched due to the expenses of Gillette Pro Fusion cartridges being too expensive. I went to Harry's for a while since much cheaper but still wanted that close shave, which I eventually went to safety razors. Would've gone to straight razor beyond this but stuck to the safety razor. Safety razor is much better, less razor bumps especially on black skin.

    All this safety razor hipsterism is pure bullshit. There is a reason people stopped using them in the first place. I have very coarse facial hair, with very sensitive skin. I have been using 5 blade Gillette fusion for over a decade. And after a couple of this marketing videos, I tried King C Gillette safety one. It was intstant regret. Now again on fussion and never changing it, very close shave and no skin tearing.

    Ive switched back and forth and to be honest, the cartridge razors actually gave me less irritation, but theyre too expensive.

    • @tatara.razors
      @tatara.razors 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your need to find what works best for you. However, if a safety razor is irritating, something is wrong with your razor or blade. Make sure to use a good, mild safety razor with also a mild blade and I am sure your irritation will stop.
