2024-12-18 Morning Snow (2nd edit)
Just fooling around with the GoPro in slow-mo. The snow got my attention as the flakes got bigger. Shot fast then slowed down by a factor of ten. It didn't last long, this spans 45 minutes.

Nick Ridout - Blackheath
มุมมอง 2152 หลายเดือนก่อน
My first video experiment using Kdenlive under Ubuntu. The tune is Blackheath, from the 1700s I believe, in the Playford collection. The video of Nick playing was shot on my phone at Dad's in Export Pennsylvania earlier this week (Tuesday Nov. 19, 2024) but I edited it with audio he'd recorded in October (14th). They don't quite match up due to tempo differences, hence the sync issues. Another ...

Time lapse of Aurora Borealis
มุมมอง 1033 หลายเดือนก่อน
2024-10-10, about 11pm, Paris Twp., Ohio. About half an hour's worth of shots squeezed into a minute. Soundtrack is from another night, it was pretty quiet tonight. While the camera's 15 second exposures picked up much more than the eye could see, there were certainly times when I could see red with my naked eye. Details: 68 images (7441 9:59pm to 7509 10:33pm) 15 second exposures every 30 seco...

Male Monarch Ecloses

2024-09-16 Paris Twp., Ohio. I didn't raise this one. I put a tent around the Swamp Milkweed so I could keep an eye on the few caterpillars there and hopefully protect them. The video is sped up X5. In case you wonder, this is not the same one I filmed pupating.
Saxophone Modification
มุมมอง 604 หลายเดือนก่อน
2024-09-05 Home-brew kludge to prevent pant-leg from interfering with mechanism when harness-slinging the saxophone. I had this same problem with an Evette Schaeffer tenor, also using piece of PET bottle in the fix. Soundtrack: Hey Herman, this is why I thought the key of G would best take advantage of the bari's range.
Monarch Caterpillar Pupating

September 2, 2024, Paris Twp., Ohio. Two camera angles (one via a mirror) of video assembled in Pinnacle. The final sequence (no sound) is a series of time-lapse still photos. I'm particularly pleased that the camera caught the emergence of the cremaster (the black stem) at 1:32 ("3:39pm"). The other chrysalis seen in some shots pupated the previous day.
Mellow Morning Minute of Spider Web

2024-07-06 Paris Twp. Ohio. I was enjoying the colours which improved as focus unsharpened. Actual soundtrack in which I think I'm hearing Mourning Dove, Cardinal, Catbird and Crow. Merlin only said Chickadee, to my surprise.
Firefly Slideshow
มุมมอง 77 หลายเดือนก่อน
Paris Twp., Ohio, 2024-06-23 A sequence of 25 second time exposures (ISO 1600, Canon 80D, Rokinon 8mm fish-eye lens). Doesn't compare to that night in the hollow (Paw Paw, WVa) some years back, eh Susie? But perhaps the best so far at my house this year. Might be a boring slideshow but being video at least it has the advantage of a soundtrack, frogs in the pond over yonder. Some noise reduction...

Very well done! Great voice and guitar!
Thank you kindly!
amazing music. really bad conversation
This is so cool Gareth. I love this song, and your version is haunting.
love the trails - and for sure the light show here is in full swing. hard to tell the stars from the blinkers love hearing your frogs calling 🐸💚
You should save the floss (fluff) for insulation.
Nice groove, fellas.
Nice one, Gareth.
They are so beautiful 2 look at and hear sing IMO.😊
Wow, that's amazing. Thanks for sharing the footage.
Neil Young classic! Good job!
Dude, the video fades are fantastic and the audio sync is perfect !! So much appreciated Gareth, muchas gracias. ( oh, I subbed your channel and will keep watch on your vids 😎)
Thanks - glad you enjoyed!
Digging it! 🎶
Scott bends the right way, when he is stending up! 😂
I enjoyed this.. Well done.
Very nice 👍🏼 All cut with a large coping saw 🤔 Even added the extra Port 👍🏼
James & Pat sound great but the crowd noise is a little much. Can they be recorded directly through their PA?
I agree and the answer is yes, which will be evident on subsequent recordings. I didn't have time to get that little logistical detail together at this particular gig. Thanks for listening!
Hello Merle Travis
wow! we had 5 under the feeder a few days ago
did you give them any treats? they're really good at keeping the tick population down
No treats - I bet they'd scram if I went out there.
Not the DNR I was looking for but was not let down.
Beautiful Work!!!
Have you ever tried like heavy metal tones?
Sorry no, not into that.
Very nice! One of my favorite Mose Allison tunes...
Well done!
That peewee is a real flying ace!
I made the same mod... Except I rear mounted the speaker which required no surgery on the amp. Didn't even cut the hole bigger. Sounds fantastic.
If I had it to do over again...!
A legendary duet! Always and forever!
revisit... one year later and it's better than ever good work g
Thanks!
A spacey odyssey.
Nice job on that one!!
Great job..!
Do Not Resuscitate
NICE! Old Farts Rule!! What does the DNR stand for?
Best gazebo blues..so far,..
Ok I pull up
Love hearing the oldies
Have you heard of @sessions? It would be amazing to have you there You should consider performing on Sessions Live! Just send you a DM
Hello, Gareth! Why are you placing speaker after wooden panel, not on front side of it? It'd look much better.
I probably did that because of how the other speaker was. Unconcerned with appearance of actual speaker as I put a tie-dye cloth in front.
jeg vun.fyi
What a nice fuzzbuddy
Happy times
I can't claim the Bluebirds are a mated pair as we have 3 males and two females hanging around. The only way I can ID the one I believe to be "Ma" is when she gets bossy and pulls rank on the others.
They love to do that!
One of my favorite Lennon's songs. Great version you've made here. Cheers from Brazil!
