In the winter of 95-6 November I was driving from California to Washington DC for work , i decided to take HWY 50 to taste the flavor of " The Loneliest Hwy in America" after descending down into the Great Basin where it really hits you... There's NOTHING OUT HERE! A lone immature Bald Eagle flew over the cab of my F-250 about 5 feet....( Ive always loved Eagles) So I pulled over and walked across the Hwy just to see if I could get another glimpse of him....i walked up an embankment and to my surprise there was a huge reservoir....i was taken aback because I didn't see it from the hwy...so I carefully started walking towards the water which i thought had a light dusting of snow along its shoreline ( it was beautiful) as i stood there taking it all in I got thst feeling that something was watching me as I stood there. So I slowly panned to my left WHOA there were at least 50 Bald Eagles standing in the shallows and i slowly panned to my right and there were 50 more all of them staring at me! It wasn't snow! It was the white heads! I stood in disbelief... stood there for about 10 minutes then bowed and left! It was one of the most beautiful amazing things I've ever witnessed! I will forever think of hearing this song at a school dance in 1988 after a high school basketball game, where the song was dedicated to our 6’2 white guard who had TWO dunks (a one hand and a two hand) in our win. It was ELECTRIC in that cafeteria! WOW!!!! I don’t believe music, or memories, like this exist anymore. I would give anything to re-live that night!
