Our films have limited budgets (we're working on that haha) and with your help we can grow our channel, and from strength to strength we can continue to make entertaining short films. Pervitin - WW2 Short Film (2024) 4K
A Luftwaffe Field Division Gruppe is cut off from the rest of their division on the Eastern Front in 1943. After sustaining heavy casualties from artillery bombardments by the Red Army for numerous weeks, the men hope to survive in a hastily dug trench system. The under strength Gruppe is left with rations, ammunition and morale running at an all time low. Julian, the youngest in the Gruppe, in an attempt to cope with the atrocities of war, has been abusing his stash of Pervitin. Pervitin was a stimulant given to soldiers in the German Military during World War 2.
The pill increased focus, energy and morale, while lowering fear and inhibitions. It also had severe side effects that included exhaustion, heart pain, vomiting, delirium, depression, hallucinations,
suicidal thoughts, stroke and death.
Julian and the other remaining members of the Gruppe must deal with not only the horrors of war, but manage the paranoia and infighting.

Cringy. Not only would the Germans not shout "Angriff" when in fact they are chasing someone, it also makes no sense that the pilot runs with his life vest through the forest. Appreciate the effort, but stopped watching after a short while.
I most certainly appreciate exploring this overlooked angle from WW2 German soldiers, but you need to do more research on your subject because amphetamine withdrawal does not induce intense hand shaking and vomiting. You're conflating Pervitin detox with opiates and alcohol. There are almost no physical symptoms that accompany amphetamine withdrawal, in fact. It's a mental process, not physical

I struggle with methamphetamine addiction myself, this film is very well put together however meth withdrawals do not cause sickness, its just a super bad depression and fatigue that lasts months. The hallucinations meth can cause mainly happen in low light situations and I could definitely see this happening in real life.
Big difference between street methamphetamine vs Pharmaceutical Methamphetamine.

As a german,you shouldve just used your everyday voices. The attempt at a german accent makes me cringe
The locket s taken as a trophy. It is done in all wars. Remember at the time they were both engaged in trying to kill each other. The Luftwaffe pilot showing mercy to another flier, an enemy flier, wasn't surprising.

You don’t really understand how potent the blitzkrieg could be unless you’ve taken an adderal. Even with that the German version was even stronger given that it was actual meth. It also makes sense how they completely went to crap after going for several days without a break.

In the pubs after the war at the bar would be a bowl full of Bex powder in little packages . It was common to have a Bex and chase it with a beer. Outlawed eventually. Grandfather served in the Durham light infantry. I worked with vets in the early 80's Death warmed up some of them.

22:14 Interesting film! I’ve read and listen to hundreds of soldiers diaries (Stuka pilots, Panza crews and many soldiers fighting on the Eastern front) I have only heard one entry that I’m sure referred to Pervitin. A captain wrote in his diary he was suffering flu symptoms, the medic gave him a white tablet and an hour later his flu was cured.

@@Badvirtueproductions Thanks for posting the film. It’s the first time I’ve seen a short film referring to the effects of Pervitin addictions. It must have been a pleasant experience to go through the withdrawal effects (for long term addicts) if their supply was cut off. I can only imagine how many soldiers suffered psychotic violent episode and how many were hurt or killed!

There is a great book called "Blitzed" by Norman Ohler which tells the story of Pervitin and Hitler's addiction to a selection of narcotics.
