It’s been a minute….but I believe that is where you can store the twine/rope during storage. When you are putting the tent away, you roll up/tie the rope and then store it in there so it doesn’t get tangled. That’s what we do anywho. Hope this helps!

Water safety is important! Fossil creek is far from any help. Water in the creek/river is constantly changing. The weather plays a big role in this. The flow rate and the current are always changing. My older kids are strong swimmers, but there are always risks. Adults have recently drowned at fossil creek. I will always advise caution and water safety for all ages and abilities.

Glad you are okay! The water there can be strong…especially right next to the falls there.

This was a couple summers ago now. From what I remember there is paid parking right next to Tunnel Creek Cafe. I don’t recall seeing any free parking though. That place had great breakfast and lunch btw 🙌🏽😎.

I don’t know the exact distance. However, from the sign, we went right a little bit, crossed the creek, then hiked left for about 5-10 min on the rocks along the creek side. Then we came to that spot. It’s not difficult, but not advised for little kids or toddlers. Hope this helps 🤪. Enjoy!

I’m unsure either. This was somewhere along senator highway though. It was a small little parking lot 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I still enjoy the quality. We took it camping about a month ago. Still works great and no tear/holes!

I’m pretty sure just one ring/hook in the center of the tent.

This was taken the end of January in 2021. We had a 4wd Toyota 4Runner. Highly recommend 4wd or chains for something. We definitely watched someone get pulled out by a big truck. They were in a small 2wd sedan that got stuck in the snow sludge.

Honestly, I’m not sure of something closer than Prescott. Maybe unofficial areas in Payson, Pine, Strawberry or Happy Jack area. Just an idea, not sure. There is unofficial areas on Mt. Lemmon, in Tucson though. About equal or more distance than Prescott though, just in a different direction. Also, I believe they are offering some sort of tubing (slide) activities at The Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale at the moment.

There are definitely snakes out there! We’ve encountered two different types so far: Sonoran gopher and rattlesnake. The Sonoran gopher is “harmless” compared to the rattlesnake. We found it in a tree at about eye level 😬. No big lizards so far…

@@UpTheTrail I just had to joke with you about the lizards and rattlesnakes. I've lived off grid in Arizona arid grassland for 17 years. It's been very interesting and a rwal learning experience. For me, it is time to move on though as I'm getting older and also I would like to get back into rehabbing properties again. Good luck with your ranch. I'm sure you will have fun putting it all together.

Yes, there are some bathrooms as you walk from the parking lot, to the recreation area. Also, there are bathrooms on the side of the jumping area. It is a fun spot for sure!

When we began working on it and the lumber prices skyrocketed. We put the project on hold for the moment but the footings are built.

I don’t believe you can get all the way in. They have it blocked off and divided for swimmers and boats….to keep everyone safe. This video was two years ago, when the water levels were wayyyyy higher.
