I'm thinking of buying it as a portable word processor. I'm not a journalist, but I write for other reasons. The AlphaSmart Neo 2 is just too heavy to carry. I'm just not sure if I want to go through the trouble of replacing the battery. I may pay the premium for a refurbished one with a new battery. Edit. It’s not heavy. I meant large.

This is a really nice video. I really hope the best to Sailfish OS. I know probably some of you won´t agree, but IMO i would make a few changes: 1. Change Sailfish OS to an easier and more sticky and global name. Something like Free OS, Alpha OS, Sea OS, Sun OS, Human OS, Air OS, etc. 2. Make a call to all investors worldwide to grow, hire more developers to improve the OS and the support for other phones. 3. Release a really stunning, beautiful and simple smartphone and put ads everywhere to call people attention. 4. Make a tablet and Desktop version of the OS, with an X86 installer for PCs and release a tablet and PC as well to complete the ecosystem. 5. Collab with big companies like Adobe, Autodesk, etc. to port their apps to this system. 6. Create unique and useful features, like easy way to inteconnect devices, easy ways to locate them if you loose it, Desktop mode for smartphones when plug via USB - C, etc. Things like that would make it grow like crazy. We really need a competitor for Android and iOS and this OS is really simple and smooth and it reminds me a bit in some parts to a mix of Web OS and Windows Phone, so good.

Thank you for the review, great to see what changed and what didn't. I flashed Sailfish OS on a XA2 and it was pretty great as a daily driver for a few years. The thing that killed it for me were no Bluetooth support in Android Apps and Banking Apps not working. There were many other bugs and missing features but they were slowly getting better over time witch each release. I'm tempted to go back when they finally concentrate on one phone and make it feature complete. Still, it is amazing what such a small team of developers is able to accomplish and we should all be thankful to have another option in the duopoly that is Android and iOS.

That's well known (for 10+ years) kind of different bugs related to OS X encoding which is too damn smart (no). From the same galaxy of bugs as when you're getting gibberish like Ù¢Ì̃·Ï·ÌÈÙÔ trying to copy text from proper Google Doc file to another proprietary thing called Pages while getting no issues on pasting same text to MS Word. Regarding issue showed -> just checked on both Excel 2021 and 2024 - no any issues with autotrimming spaces and tab characters on pasting multiline datasets - while copying from normal sources like Sublime Text, Chrome, Notion, OneNote or Visual Studio. Just copy - paste - get the sum instantly. If the system encodes it in some strange and non-standard manner, it's definitely not Excel which sucks. Also you may want to use =CLEAN instead of just =TRIM but efficiency depends. Also beside Numbers free-floating tables thing (which is really cool tbh) everything else is kindergarten level (unless you're using only very basic kind of tables and small datasets) as compared to both Google Sheets and MS Excel - they are flexible as hell and lightyears ahead for any person actually working with numbers.

Blackberry devices require an activation ticket like iPhone. and there's no way to activate them without blackberry servers on because they're just like iPhone for security purposes.. but once the blackberry is activated, it remains activated until it's factory reset unlike an iPhone, which will just freak out and go back to the set up screen.
