I think Matt didn't like the movie because he was bored and didn’t pay attention, looked up a plot synopsis, and then judged the entire film based on a probably 9 paragraph summary of the movie.

I will say that I wish they focused more on shadow and sonic and shadows past instead of the huge scenes with eggman. They were drug out and shadow only had one big defining flash back and one small one. I think it should have been many flash backs and more then one attempt sonic makes to understand and change shadows mind. Other the. That I loved it

I played Sonic adventure 2 as a kid and I didnt see any issue with it back then. If anything the movie was more tame.

He says the story is a generic plot that's boring because its over played and would put you to sleep...Then proceeds to not understand that same "boring plot" is an echo of Sonic Adventure 2, ya know the game almost everyone heralds as "Peak Sonic". It's the chararcters and events that make the story so engaging. I think this dude is trying a little too hard to fail at reviewing lmao

The thing is, he's right in exactly one point. Kids deserve good movies. And as the goddamned expert in shitty kids movies, this is no where close to a bad one. He could say these kinds of things about shit like Happy Feet, Surf's Up 2, and HOP. Corporate checklist? Ai? Have you fucking seen what Disney has been putting out recently. Go watch those mediocre movies and continue hating on something that your kids absolutely loved. "Its canceled." Good fucking try, bud.

Honestly as a huge nerd there are some problems i had with the movie but they're very minor issues but besides those the movie was amazing i absolutely love all the references my favorite being the sonic adventure reference when sonics in the helicopter such a great movie only thing id change is the after credits part where they showed sonic easily beating metal sonic

As an adult fan of Sonic, Matt may've just turned all of us Sonic fans who watched him, against him. XD If he didn't like the movie, he could've just stayed at the office and let his wife take the kids instead.

Matt Walsh tends to use heavy sarcasm with a dry style. It's kind of his comedic style. So, he was acdtually intentionally being hyberbolic when he compared this to pulling your kid away from a moving train. In reality, he was just saying he hated the movie.... Which I disagree with.. But, he's allowed to be wrong, I suppose.

sonic 3 was awsome, kid frendly at times and i clearly understand marias death change but it still was awsome if i had a kid he/she would of loved it but i saw it with my wife she didnt like it much so no suprise its wasnt her kind of thing it was more my generation, well i did see nosferatu since she wathced mine. this guy is a drama queen

The movie isn't even preaching politics, it's just a movie made for kids and sonic fans. It was never going to some grandiose artistic masterpiece that deserves to be in a museum. Its a feel-good movie made to simply entertain. if you were not entertained, well sorry that you weren't. If you were expecting commentary on modern society or some complex work of art masterpiece, Then you're an idiot. Its a sonic movie. The only people who were going to possibly think it was going to be a masterpiece are sonic fans. But his review was literally a nothing burger of excuses to pan out a video for views, when a short tweet could of summarized this whole video. "I did not like the movie". that's it, that's all he needed to say, cause his "reasonings" are just ramblings about nothing, with very few understandable personal reasons and tons of stalling to spit out a 10 min video.
