Z Grills 550A Pellet Grill Review
มุมมอง 1.9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Scott Williamson, from Grillpartsforless.com takes a look at the Z Grills 550A and all of the similarities it shares with another popular grill on the market. It even has the side handle, but why? The 550A, another pellet grill made in China by Z Grills is really just a copy of the Traeger 22 Series. It's a great little grill at a very good price but it has a feature that is totally useless. I ...

    I've gone through the troubleshooting, and ended up replacing the vacuum switch. Now, it feeds pellets when I turn it on, but doesn't continue to feed them for very long after that. The amount of time it feeds them seems to vary. Suggestions?

    Thank you so much! My issue was the hopper lid switch. I made a jumper with a piece of insulated wire, removed the switch and jumped the leads, turned the stove one, and it started feeding pellets again. I ordered a new switch and am hopeful I will be fully operational again.

    Thanks for such an informative video! I have an issue where my stove stops feeding pellets so eventually the fire dies out and the stove turns off. Does anybody know if there's a sensor or something that's not signaling the stove to dump more pellets into the fire? For the record, the stove initially feeds enough pellets to get the fire started but then doesnt dump anymore so the fire dies off. Please help!

    Any help with why my auger won't stop feeding? I have 2 of these. Swapped the lid switch and diaphragm from the properly working stove. Hasn't made a difference. Not sure if the auger motor is bad or the control board. Stove runs if I trigger the switch manually. But won't stop feeding otherwise.

    Good site, this will definitely help a lot of people. Let me run a story past some of you , it may save you or someone some hair pulling out. I have been working on the same pellet stove, the stove will start, it will dump pellets for about 10 minutes, it will ignite but then it will shut down. I put direct power to the auger motor so I didn't think it would be the auger motor that was bad. So i bypassed the vac switches still no auger , I figured it had to be the heat sensor, not sensing the fire in the burn pot, some stoves have a snap disk that performs a similar function but on this stove it appears it is like a thermocouple screwed in directly under the ignitor. So I replaced that, the unit ran for 10 mins again then stopped feeding, I quickly pulled the wires from the auger motor again and ran line voltage to the ager motor . . . .would ya believe the auger motor would not turn now ? seems the auger motor was getting incredibly hot and when it reached a certain temp, it just stopped , until it cooled down enough , then would spin. Bad windings in the auger motor! if anyone has a similar issue just rule out bad windings too just let it run, run run and see if the auger stops on it's own. when I found it was not the pressure switches and not the circuit board and not any kind of hopper safety switch , I just assumed it had to be the heat sensor switch and I was wrong. It was a good thing I was still there when it failed though to retest the auger motor when it was hot

    I have a 25-CBPAH that I bough 10/2021. I having issues with this model and I don't see much videos on it. I've replaced the augar motor, vaccuum switch and hose, combustion motor. Cleaned out the little hold from hose to front where ash bin is. It will light and run at startup. Room blower doesn't come on at this time until I manually have to push feed up for it to start working normally but after a certain level like 6 it will sort of choke up and automatically shuts down. Fellets are feeding little. i ordered the augar motor accordingly to manual specs but still feeds little. i had question on CCW is what I need. I don't know if its the fellets itself but its driving me crazy.

    They made it as hard as humanly possible to get to the fuse. Ridiculous. We've watched your other videos and have isolated the problem (pressure switch) but in the course of doing it..... a small short happened and the fuse popped. Now we're spending forever and having to remove the entire control board just to get to the fuse. Jesus. (But thanks for these super helpful videos!!!)

    ALSO If you don't cut all the way across your pellet bag. Leave 3 or 4" of the bag corner intact. This pocket easily catches ½ of the sawdust in the bag. The bucket/strainer catches the other ½. Dump these spoils into another bucket every day. Bout once a month i'll blow my shop vac exaust through this. Dust blows away, pellets stay

  • @jameswaller-eo9bg
    @jameswaller-eo9bg 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I cut most of the bottom out of a 5 gal bucket, leaving about a ¾" lip remaining. Next i cut the bucket in ½ verticaly (keeping the handle side) forming a basic trough. Then i formed a piece of ¼" mesh hardware cloth loosely to the inside of the trough bending it over the ¾ lip i left on the bottom perimeter, stapling it to the inside ½ of the almost bottomless bucket. Now Lay this screen contraption right in your hopper and dump your pellets on top of it. Simply lift up on the screen, tilting forward and LIGHTLY shake it as you pull it up and out of the pellet pile. The pellets are too big to fall through screen so they spill forth into the hopper. The dust on the other hand falls through the screen and piles up above the ¾ " lip. Now you've got a bucket/screen with a strong handfull of sawdust out of every bag. No Brainer

    Another thing that could help till you figure out what’s wrong is to wait till a small amount of pellets are in the burn pot, grab a single pellet (long to medium sized) and stick it in the igniter hole touching the igniter and hanging out. In the 10 years I’ve own this model of stove I’ve never had a problem with the igniter lighting my pellets except every once in a while but this is most likely to be a case where the pellets fall in a weird way into the burn pot. Probably the case of being too far away. Anyways if this happens I always stick a pellet into the igniter hole and it always lights after this. Hope this helps some people.

    Great video and thank you for putting it together, but "it's simple" then proceeds to show all the parts required in the feed system (overly complicated for pushing pellets). -lol-... Honestly though, I would start with the most basic first. I was hoping to find how to "prime it again"(when you run the stove empty, empty) because if the pellets don't reach the burn pot it may seem like its not feeding. We just got our pellet pro last year and it heated our house on the lower settings(huge improvement from the napoleon we had for 8+ years), when are you finding that these additional steps are needed? 2 years in?? 3?
