I know, I know.... Being a fan of this car is sometimes a rod for my own back. I see missing details or misshapen modelling and unfortunately, I see that here. I really wanted to get this car based on the Scalextric media push they gave. Accurate digital scans..of what? Another toy? It looks more like the spin masters RC than the actual prop. The rear vents are wrong, the side vents are wrong, the gas caps are wrong, the porthole windows are wrong, the canopy, the nozzle, the wheel hubs, the front turbine, the front wing spacing.... As I said, a rod for my own back.... this would really get under my skin to have it displayed... So much promise, yet in the end not enough passion to carry it through....I really wanted this to be great.

Somebody knows, how to add geo tag to a video now? The Es Ol.Share has not possibility to add geo tag to video anymore.

Dinky und Corgi haben tolle Modelle gebaut. Heute gibt es keine Dicast Modelle die so viele Funktionen haben. Das haben die früher echt besser gemacht. Guckt Euch mal die Felgen und Speichen bei den 261 Modellen an, Niemals gab es detailietere. Rs wurde immer einfacher und billiger 😢

Just a heads up for you - Scalextric has just announced to make a SPV slot car this year . Also the patrol car .

The colour on the batmobile is more of a Satin black and not a full blown matt black. If it was matt as stated here and elsewhere, it would be a very dull and non-reflective black.

After 60 years, you need to allow for colour fade.

Where was the original version build? a bit difficult to see on the video.

where did you source the worktop from please? i assume it was from a dealer due to the sink cut out?

The SPV looks really great ! "Look out Mysterons , Here comes CAPTAIN SCARLET" ! Corgi does a great job with authenticity of the vehicle !

It seemed the license plates of the new one could turn around and change the plate numbers.

A great replica that is true to the original and mine also came upside down in the box with Robin rattling around inside. I still have my Batmobile, Batboat and Batcopter from around 1978 still boxed and in mint condition.

Does the knurled wheel launcher free wheel backwards. Mine turns pretty freely when turned towards the back or the car?

I'm looking for a re-issue Batmobile WITHOUT towhook. Where can I get one? Regards.

Your original could do with a dust, my friend - 1/2 inch paintbrush should suffice. Interesting that the Corgi Club membership offers that little bit extra. In truth, I prefer the matte finish - tho' there's nothing intrinsically wrong with your '67 model.

Hopefully mine will arrive soon. Can imagine it's like getting a brand new one back in the day. Closest you're going to get without going back in time! I had a couple as a kid mid 70s, the fire going in/ out the exhaust. Loved it

I have about 20 of them and various smaller versions in a box to rebuild with all the new parts its a rainy day project

I remember mine . I played with it to destruction . Lost the figures of course . Probably inside an old hoover like most 😊 . I had the bigger version too and bat man and robin . Destroyed them too and the Batmobile in some way . Much fun and memories 👍🏻

1966 would be the best number for when the show came out

My brother and I each had one of the originals in about 1974ish. We quickly lost the rockets, so snapped off pieces of matchsticks became the replacement rockets. We later got the bat boat and batcopter. I wish I still had them…

It’s beautiful! I prefer the matte. I had at least five Corgi Batmobiles from the late 60s to the early 70s. Why didn’t I save them😢

A relatively sought after version which is commonly referred to as the 'matt DB5 or 1st Issue' due to paint anomalies.

That's a very poor rendition of Stingray. The proportions are wrong and the missile tubes are total fantasy. Opportunity missed.

Well I noticed that you said you wouldn't go too far into the various versions, then you did 😂. You refer to the finish as matte. To my eye it seems more shiny than matte. I would refer to it as satin. Thanks for the video! Have fun with your toys.

How. Come its got the revolving plates. The one on Corgis website hasn’t got that feature and its got less detail.

Kind of disappointed it’s not a 1:1 recreation with some minor upgrades like the second petrol cap and plate numbers.

Love my Corgi Stingray. Only waited 50+ years to have a proper die cast model!

Bad idea so close to the fire. Plenty of better options nearby with access to the surface.

Excellent video and I loved your work getting under that swing bridge. I have explored this canal - from the towpath and most often by bike - countless times over the past decade and it has long been my personal favourite. Did you also at a different time kayak a further part of the canal beyond New Mills, as I am sure I passed you about that kind of time.
