Good approaching.
Thank you for your insight! What a story! I was recently told that it is nearly impossible to transition from transactional law to litigation. Yet, here I am hearing about you making that pivot! Did you find that move difficult or am I getting smoke blown up my ass 🤣?
Listen, of course it can be difficult. But it's also difficult to stay in a practice area or career you hate. So you really just have to pick your hard. I don't think it's as hard as people say it is. It takes work and it won't just happen but it's definitely doable!
Yes!! 🙌 this is so true. I adopted this style of goal setting 2 years ago and it’s been working. The self talk became way different. I was building and taking less pressure off of myself instead of focusing on doing everything. You brought up a good point around 11:00. Living life in fast forward will ultimately get us nowhere. My intent is to slow down and enjoy the process more. Where focus goes; energy flows.
YES! Absolutely. I feel like this is a life lesson we have to learn over and over again but learning to slow down and actually enjoy what is here is EVERYTHING!
If you want to actually stick to your goals, learn how to do them the right way. Join me for my Full-Day workshop: www.quitterclub.com/goals
There is power in the way that you deliver your message. You are right that we should not be using goals as a way to validate ourselves. That mentality is dangerous to our mental health. I want to make my goals more intentional for the coming year
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm so glad that it resonated and I love that you're looking to make it more intentional. I have 2 more episodes on goalsetting coming that will help with this!
@ you’re welcome! I’m excited for what’s to come. 😊
Great video! I did too just quit my job as a lawyer. I am trying to figure out my next step. Thank you for giving me the courage to move forward.
I'm so glad it helped you! Good luck with the transition!!
i could relate to u deeply, Thnx for sharing ! (:
My pleasure! So glad it helped!
I am 38 and considering law as a second career.
Good for you! My advice would be to try to talk to as many actual practicing lawyers as you can before you take this step. Get an understanding of what their lives and jobs are like and if that's something you want for yourself.
❤ beautifully said
Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and important video today! This is exactly what I needed.
I'm SO glad it helped. 🥰

Hi Goli! Trying to watch this video but there's no sound...
Hey, I'm so sorry but there is sound on this for me. I'm not sure what is happening. Maybe it's muted or turned down on your device.
Thanks for sharing. ❤
My pleasure! Glad you liked it!
I started out as a lousy stevedore. I didn't think I could write technical books and do technical illustration until I tried them. I could never become a lawyer though. There are way too many laws I don't agree with and too many things I think should be totally legal.
Thank you so much for making this video. I'm a former attorney who left the law for the exact same reason. This honestly helped reaffirm that I made the right choice. I'm actually working on starting my own business!
Good for you! That's awesome! And I'm so glad this video helped reaffirm your decision :)
Love the video, thanks for the authenticity and life lessons.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad it resonated!!
Good.
Thank you1
This is why I'm staying as a paralegal (in-house or small boutique firm) After 5pm its the next day's problem 😂 Heard enough horror stories from family members who are/were attorneys and friends who are attorneys.
Smart! There definitely is no work/life balance in it!
This resonates totally with me. Thank you for making this video. I subscribe! Good luck with your projects!
You are so welcome! I'm so glad it resonated! Thanks for subscribing!!
Thank you!
You're so welcome! I'm glad it helped!
Now I know this is true
As lawyers I am not so sure… we do need to decide to stop… and we May decide that we don’t wanna go back… to me, more then not deciding when I am in a middle of a burnout, is making sure (as much as possible) that i am not deciding based on emotions, but racionally…
Yeah absolutely. That's what I talk a lot about in the full episode. It tends to be hard not to make decisions from emotions when you're completely burned out. While it might require you to stop for a while to rest and tend to your burnout, it tends to be hard to make rational long-term decisions from this spot.
Subscribed. Cause I truly relate with what you said. I ONLY Have a belief to reach the stage where you currently are. Your efforts in your videos will guide people like me who are willing to stick to this approach. Keep making such videos.❤
Thank you so much! That means so much to me!
I subscribed you🎉🎉 And I wish you will complete 1k subscribe soon.
Thank you so much! Hopefully I'll get there soon! I appreciate the support!
Timely and helpful, thank you❤
So glad you found it helpful!
🔥💎 So true. We put ourselves into boxes so many times.
Yes absolutely!
Uhh no
hahah I know that can sound depressing but you can have a different relationship with work to not make it so dreadful
Not trying to be rude but your understanding of work is a lot different than most Americans where we will be luck to get our bodies past 50 so maybe if we could all work white collar jobs sure we could push to 60-70 but my dad is 59 and can't even drive anymore let alone leave the house because of how broken his body is
Some people don't have a choice and sometimes you have so much money invested into a career that already doesn't pay enough that we can just get up and change it cause it'll ruin us financially or physically
@@JIMMYTHEMAN234 I'm sorry to hear that. And I understand that this is the reality for many. And yet the reality for so many others is that they can't stop working at 60. They have no way of making ends meet without working into their 70s. That might mean finding a different type of job but they don't qualify for disability or other aid. Unfortunately we live in a very broken system. And all we can do is try to control what we can.
Thank you so much this is helpful ❤
Thank you SO MUCH for this video.
My pleasure! I'm so glad you liked it!
Sounds like a really bad return on investment and this is probably not the path that most people should take.
Not really. It afforded me a career for 7 years that gave me tons of experience and money. And it's now led me to have my own multiple six-figure business. I think we look at ROI too narrowly. You get so much out of even the "mistakes" if you learn from them.
Do you have an email to contact regarding questions?
Yes! you can email team@lessonsfromaquitter.com
This is exactly what I've been needing to hear. I'm in a 9-5 while I work on my creative project until I can get it to a point where I can go full-time on it. But no matter how much I tried to tell myself that this job isn't forever and it's allowing me to work on my project on the side, I was still making myself miserable thinking I was wasting time with the 9-5. Sometimes you just need to hear the thing from someone else and outside your own brain to get it to click. I appreciate you.
I'm so glad that this found you then. You're absolutely right that sometimes you just need to hear it from someone else. So I hope you hear this: You're hooking your future self up by doing the hard thing now. That's something to be proud of! :)
Spot on!
Thank you! Glad you agree!
The YT algorithm did a great job with this suggestion. Here's a comment, like and sub to help your channel grow. You touched a bunch of topics - would love to just go into depth with each one of them.
Thanks so much for the support! I'll definitely be diving into each topic in depth in future episodes

Yay! Thank you! Excited about finally getting on video!
I needed to hear that today ❤
I'm so glad it found you at the right time
I really like how you've mentioned the saying by Seneca, "We suffer more in imagination than in reality," because it sums up a lot. We tend to worry about things that might go wrong, causing us more stress than the actual events themselves. With overthinking, we imagine many scenarios (stories) that are unlikely to happen. It's trying to get our minds around this and back on the right track, and you help us navigate these things in a realistic, doable way. 😊🤘🤙👍🏊♀🏄♀
Yes exactly! That is exactly what happens and that's why learning to manage our minds is so crucial to our happiness!
Excited for this 🎉
Me too!!! 🥳
