The owner of the viva is a 16 year old who has been saving for 5 years to buy his own classic car!!! His mum still has to travel with him as he is still on his learners licence. He drives up from waipukurau (50mins away)

Ahh the good old colliery ... I myself was a proud miner , Worked underground for 20 years making New roadways and also working the coalface , all at 2000 ft down ... Best days of my life .... I loved my job at the Pit... Another great video ... thanks

I loved your comments about the hardship of miners in our grandfathers' days - mine worked in Abertillery. As a student, we went down a deep mine in Northampton and overalls were mandatory as they were trepanning a 24 inch seam so we had to slide along on our backs and came to appreciate the darkness, the damp, the noise of the machine and the grumbling of the rock which fell down as the coalface progressed. Modern youth would not survive! We were spoilt as visitors and had a hot shower when out of wet, dirty overalls. As you can see in the video, the miners would finish their shift and go to the pub - then home for a bath in a tin tub in the kitchen! Tough times indeed. My grandparents house suffered major damage due to subsidence and they had to move, I believe with no compensation.

I forget, what's the basis of Midge? I loved this tour video, my roots are in Abertillery and I have relatives in Brecon.

Another nicely documented account of an Enthusiasts weekend away. This is a really picturesque part of our country, so picturesque in fact it still looks lovely in the rain. As our Rover had had a bit of a hissy fit on the way down it was nice for Lorraine and myself to be welcomed as passengers in several other cars throughout the tour. We had a great time whilst Big Rov rested in the carpark. Oh, I love the little computerised animation at the end of this video too.

Paul, What are you doing leaving the warmth of New Zealand to come to the uk in February? Enjoyable tour although the grand designs house was a bit of a sad tale. Cost them a lot more than money and gained nothing from it.

Mk III cortina estate passed on the left??

Great to see the cars and hear your voice again. Gramps had the Velox, in white, as did my uncle. Dad had the Victor (super I think), with the bench up front. No problem to fit 6 people in them days. Cousin still has his 1600 ghia cortina mk II, acquired brand new when he got his licence I believe. All beauties! Someone please invent a time machine and take me back 😢

A new venue. and another great show. Enjoying the sunshine and blue sky. It always amazes me how far some cars from the UK get to. I'm not surprised to see the Austins etc but it the ones you don't expect to get that far such as the Bond bug, i understand you have one in the NZ motor museum. Then this TVR. The 80's styling marvellous. The Xk8 looks nice and the prefect colour. They are such good value for money over here at present. Some interesting number plates.

We visited Napier in January 2023 ,loved all the classic cars we saw around the town. I have a lifelong love of them due to my late father . When we left quite a few were lined up along the quayside along with a band playing, nice touch and a fitting goodbye to a very friendly place.

Looks amazing. I have relatives in NZ. Never been. Maybe I could visit them someday, but with a secret agenda to see this car show! So many memories from childhood in these lovely pictures.

I love Stags, i was thinking of buying a Stag in 2022 i had thought about it many times before and thought why not and i ended up buying an XJS. That's how it goes sometimes. The Datsun 260c are a rare sight these days. They were quite something back in 1976. The Daimler looked lovely.
