I grew up listening to this wonderful music. So good to hear it again.
It’s “Whoa, Mule”
Love "Hey Boys"!
If this song dont get yar hog kickers goin yar dead or near it...Fabulous.!!!
That’s the darlings
Music is a great release from all the other media. Especially blasts from the past. If you could post some tunes from Mr. Boots Randolph, I think it would be much appreciated by many. Boots had the big sax solo on Brenda Lee's Rocke'n Around the Christmas Tree
These guys were so good you can see why they were so popular on TAGS. Even got noticed by Judy Garland. We need shows like this again with real talent.
👍
Spurgeon never preached a sermon with this title. This guy is making stuff up.
Genuine Ozark hillbilly
Song Starts at 0:33
anyone notice the bare feet? This song makes me cry.
Ya cant get no better..
I wonder what it smelled like in there
How can a performance done 61 years ago still be so enjoyable to hear and so much fun to watch?
I Agree! I think only Rodney is the only one still living. They were so great
@kystars Yes, I think Rodney is the last surviving member of the band. But the others passed only recently, in the last ten years, so they all had some degree of longevity, which they certainly deserved for making so many people happy.
Because great never gets old! ❤
The bare feet a perfect touch!!
And Jerry Van Dyke. Good stuff!
The band from Andy Griffith, the Darlings.
From Andy Griffith show! Lol
They just aint the same without denver pile blowing on his jug.
I saw them in the 1970's at Delmont, PA. They played in a bluegrass festival that included the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and June and Mabel Carter.
Did anyone get a contact high from Judy' alcoholic breath blowing in their face?
When I was 7 years old I was in LOVE with Charlene Darling.
This was a classic performance by the Dillards. How Rodney could always have that dumbfounded look is pure comedy. ❤❤❤
I like the original Dillards on the Andy Griffith show better than these guys !
That's them, dude.
@Aubreykrendale no it's not, only a couple of them are from the Griffith show.
@@davidlauter1622 The other 2 were murdered and had to be replaced. You happy now?
They were the reason I liked bluegrass.
Me too! The first time I heard them I was a kid watching the Andy Griffith show, that was my introduction to bluegrass and I've been hooked ever since! Like Briscoe Darling would say "If you got time to breathe you got time for music"!
Think that was Jerry Van Dyke introducing them. Dick's brother
This sounds ten times better when played back at ,75 speed.
My existence is not predicated on your beliefs.
RAY FAIRCHILD'S SONG IN MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C. R.I.P. BROTHER RAY!!
They are fantastic and played the Darlings on the Andy Griffith Show.
I wish they didn't play this song; it always makes me cry.
Ya gotta fight it!
😊😊😊😊Naw the one that made Charlene cry was Hit your granny with a big ol stick.
Yes, Sir! I remember the Darlings!
Why would it make you cry? Are you out of moonshine?
Hilarious. Good job…
That one always makes me cry!
He was "scratching" on banjo before rock and reggae musicians were doing it on guitar.
Wow is all I can say. Amazing 🎉😂❤
Nothin but good ol Bill Monroe type Music
Comedy was always part of the act for bluegrass bands back then.
Play that flat top banjo Doug!!
They were great but I think I prefer the grandpa jones version a little better
Cool
Female should be singing
