HOW TO REPLACE CHEVY TAHOE SIDE MIRROR GLASS | 2003-2006

HOW TO REPLACE CHEVY TAHOE SIDE MIRROR GLASS | 2003-2006 In this video, we replace a broken driver-side mirror glass on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe. This side view mirror glass features an integrated turn signal and heated glass. See the glass used in this video: amzn.to/38PgGr6 Alternate: amzn.to/3sBLdQp
I need to know if this pads fit to my Tacoma bars.
Great video , was the mirror really 158 on Amazon per your link?
Fantastic
A 5/16 drill bit works well to remove the old clips. Gently drill the clip and it will spin right out! It doesn't damage the clip either. I only got 5 clips with my step and had to use one of the old ones.
The middle of the new mirrors not made like the original and don't pop in
Those heated mirrors burn up all the time...i had one get color- distorted on my 2005 corvette...so i ordered a mirror overlay and stuck it on...the heated part doesn't work anyway and i didn't have the built-in turn signal anyway...just some ideas for someone who doesn't have to replace the whole mirror ...blessings be upon us all
It's worth mentioning that in addition to the heat and turn signal circuits, the third pair of wires visible in this video serves the electrochromatic function which "dims" the mirror during hours of darkness.
My mirror is not popping in
Had same issue got so irritated that it broke
Good job thank you Mr.
Excellent video…lost step pad to car wash after 7 years, was going to take it to shop. Your video showed how easy this is, so I plan to save cash and do it myself. Thanks!
Thanks quick and simple straight to the point 💯👍
Good job!
Lol I wouldn’t “fix” it that way.
How would you fix it?
@@Shanonmcnab576 Loosen the bracket bolts a tad and use jack. Keep it jacked up and re-tighten the bolts.
Well done! Thanks!
Morning bro and thank you. Question can I just replace the light bulb on the arrow. ??
That’s why I’m here, just orders new mirror and want to change the bulb before placing the em in.
Same
You saved my money , rhanks a lot ,broth
Thanks for the tip brother! I just got my 2500HD out of the body shop... They replaced the bumpers of the brackets but of course has body will do... It's the details that that matter I figured that was the culprit but had not been under yet... Good to have confirmation. Thank you for your efforts!
Thats jacked up😂
I like the idea, bottle jack on floor jack.
Great video really helpful
Don't suppose it ever occurred to you to just loosen the 3 bolts on those brackets and just readjust it rather than trying to bend them?
Doing things by the service manual. What fun would that be?
Well don’t you suppose that he made this video because he has already tried that and it wouldn’t work, so in turn, he made this video
they always slip back down
Wow Well done
Where can I buy 1 like it?
Great video thanks!
Thanks for your time to make this vid. There's two bolts on each end of that bumper arm that if loosened (on my truck, they weren't tight) , may give you a mm or more to tighten that gap which I tightened under pressure.
Dang while trying to get old pegs out one dropped right inside my nerf bar .. any suggestions?
i don't have a remedy for that one.
Can’t you just leave it in there?
Too bad they don’t make a heavy duty pad that you can actually step on in sun freezing weather. They tend to shatter very easily
Nicely done.
Beautiful truck! How much lift?who’s kit? Tire size? Just bought a 05 zZ71 Dave in omaha
Thank your for the compliment! It came like you see it. I believe its a 3 inch lift. Im not sure on the brand. The tires are 285-70-17. Cheers!
Good example! My replacement pad, the plastic pins were slightly misaligned. Caused a slight ripple in the appearance. Oh well.....
when pulling out the old insert I would put in a screw not all the way and pull it out I would also put like silicone RTV or something else under the pad. I would do it all around the outer part try to keep the water out. My bar has alot of water in it or had I drilled a holei n the bottom. Harder to remove later but if you put it around the outside its easy to cut. Mine are 10 years old need replacing still looking or the right ones. Nice vid thanks
Thank you!
Thanks man those don’t last too long in the New Mexico sun. Your video helped me out on my weekend project
Thanks for the great idea on how to fix. Strait to the point.
Thank you for a straight forward and quick to the point video well done 👏
Thanks, I’ll be replacing mine soon on my 05 Silverado.
great video sir!
Good job
Man, that's great info and a very good shot of where to place the jack. Thanks !
Easy to understand. Quick and to the point. Very well done video. A+
will these work on stock bars on an 08 extended cab..??
I think you will need to know the exact step bar model that is installed on your truck to ensure that you purchase the right replacement pad.
