    Some things not on your list that I'm not buying this year(we have many of the same!): any special skincare products, sticking to the basics, moisturizer, cleaner, sunscreen. I've been struggling with adult acne so I bought a lot of products in 2024 to try and fix it, a few months ago I started supplementing with evening primrose oil and 95% is gone 🙌 I'm not buying new glasses or multiple packs of contact lenses, I'll probably buy a pack for summer but just for special very outdoorsy/sporty days. I'm not buying dishwasher tabs anymore, a lot less detergent does the job very well at least with my current dishwasher.

    • @minimalistsmanaged
      @minimalistsmanaged 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh wow that’s wonderful to hear that evening primrose has helped with your acne so well! 🥰 I’ve heard such good things about it and so glad it’s helped with your skin ☺️ And yes, totally agree about special fancy skincare (it’s usually so expensive too!) - it’s sometimes the best thing to bring skincare back to the basics (I know it really helped my skin too) 🥰

    • @minimalistsmanaged

      And that’s also great to hear about the dishwasher tablets etc! Sounds like you have a fantastic list! ☺️

    "Those who menstruate"... I remember when we were proud to be women.

    • @minimalistsmanaged
      @minimalistsmanaged หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a strange thing to assume I’m not proud to be a woman. I certainly am proud to be a woman 🩷 I’m also proud of being kind and considerate and understanding that not all women menstruate and not all who menstruate are women. My mother, for example, hit menopause and no longer gets her period so she certainly doesn’t have any need for a period cup. Not getting her period doesn’t make her any less of a woman. A woman’s worth or value as a woman is not dependent on if they menstruate or not. To say ‘those who menstruate’ is inclusive and specific language for those who actually do get periods.

    Have you considered the health risks of using a gas range? They have been shown to give off pollutants 24/7.

    • @minimalistsmanaged
      @minimalistsmanaged หลายเดือนก่อน

      I definitely have and wish we had the option of swapping it out for an electric one! ❤️ I make sure to always keep a window open and use the exhaust fan but yes I’d love to switch it out for an electric one for sure :) One day hopefully 🤞 Until then we’re making the best of what we have but yes totally agree electric is far better in our opinion ❤️

    • @charlenegray6788

      @@minimalistsmanaged I’m afraid gas ranges give off pollutants even when not cooking. You could use a single or double electric hot plate or an induction plate and turn off the gas.

      I would be interested in knowing a comparison with using a gas stove and living in a city and breathing car exhaust. Do you know if there has been a study on that? We have a gas stove and switched because we have lost power in the past during the winter months, once for over a week so we got a gas stove.

    Dear parents! Let the kids choose their favourite toys and souvenir toys!!! When the kids are very good, then they deserve toys. Every good behaviour kid should have plush toys, legos, puzzles, figures, dolls, souvenir toys, toys from cartoons, balls, table games, blocks, cars, outside toys and etc. Please buy only those toys, what the kids very want!!!! I know many toys and souvenir toys are very expensive, but when the kids are very good all the times, then sometimes they deserve these things!!! Please be kind parents and make Your kids very happy with these toys, what the kids have chosen and don’t say NO all the times, when the kids very deserves those toys for good behaviour!!! Dear parents! When Your kids are very good behaviour all the time and always taking good care of their things, keeping their rooms very clean, loving their favorite things and want to make nice childhood collections of their things: books, clothes, toys, video games, clothes, DVDs and etc, then donataing is very wrong thing to do. If You have few space then storage boxes and shelves will help You out and Your kids will be very happy and thankful then, if they can keep their favourite things. Childhood things are very valuable and it is very sad, if they won’t see them anymore in their life. Start and stockpile beans, lentils, rice, pasta, purchase meats on sale and buy seasonal produce. Keep a cupboard for all baking supplies. Grow some fresh herbs in a kitchen window. This will always keep your budget in check.

    You save 10,000s a year by not eating out?! Is that dollars? Where do you eat out? xD Where do you shop? I live in one of the most expensive places in my country and I could save about 5,000 pounds a year... if I never ate again in any shape or form! xD If I ate at home I would save very little.

      Yep, Australian dollars! A typical meal out is $30. For breakfast, lunch and dinner out daily that's $90 a day ($630 a week, yikes). 52 weeks in a year which equals $32,760 on food out. Working in the city, Josh and I used to eat out nearly every meal so for the two of us that number doubles ($65,520 a year). Now we eat at home, shop at Aldi, and meals cost us roughly $3 a serve :) Such savings! We have friends that still eat out every single meal but we'd definitely rather the money :)

      @@minimalistsmanaged I just realised that you meant for 2 people and in Australian dollars. It made no sense for one person in Europe. I still think that you are downplaying how much you spend at Aldi, though. Unless Aldi is 5 times cheaper over there.

      This is an Australian channel, of two people. Cooking at home with Aldi ingredients is insanely more cost efficient here. Their math is correct, trust me!

    • @NatManzano

      @@lemonlime2054 For their math to be correct, they need to take into account that they are actually spending money in Aldi. But the sound of it, they are putting together the money they have not spent, but not deducting the money they spend at the supermarket, the money they spend in energy cooking, the water they spend doing the dishes and the time. Once they remove all that money from the total of what they have saved, that gives a more realistic idea of savings.

      I'm an Aussie too, and though I think you might get breakfast more cheaply, l never expect to get lunch much less than $30. And dinner, I allow $50, more if I want a glass of wine. I seldom eat out, and every time I travel, I seem to need to budget more for meals.

    Eight years is shocking, appalling actually! I think of all the grocery shopping, errand running, pick up prescriptions at pharmacy, stopping at rummage sales for a quick run through, returning an item purchased online, etc, etc & can see where this time adds up! Ugh, I didn't retire to shop🤔I have been heavily into my decluttering/minimalism journey for about 7 months. Hubby still digging his heels in to hang onto the dangdest(is this even a word?) things...sigh...it is a process & enjoy watching your videos as a 'clutter-free' activity☺

We’re wishing you and your hubby all the very best with your decluttering journey ❤️ It can be tricky not being fully on the same page and our warmest thoughts are with you and your husband in finding good compromises and patience ❤️ Thanks so much for your kind words, we’re so happy you’re enjoying our videos 🥰
