LanKISSter
Downtown is full of addicts now. 40 overdoses in 1 week. The homeless took over the downtown district due to no affordable housing. They raised the rent prices and now asking 3xs income in order to rent. The city sits in a billion dollar deficit. Although it may sound cheap and affordable to move here, they just adopted a Home Charter Rule. ALL taxes are going higher. And if you work downtown be prepared to pay taxes for working in that district. The city is set up by Partnerships and Organizations by business and civic leaders. It may look and sound nice if you come from another area but when you move here you'll encounter webs put in place to keep you trapped. Its set up for all previous business leaders to stay in leadership with financial gain. Good luck if you move here. The people here are actually trying to get out.
Thanks for that deep insight!
Wanna move there. Coming from upstate
Lancaster was wonderful, great place to live !
This is a great video if you want to see none of the neighborhood, but instead would prefer to stare at a middle aged man walking around, not blinking too frequently.
I love it. I’m property tax-exempt as a veteran. I want to move to York.
Did you say some of the same for Gettysburg
I love Hanover, especially the northside. South Western School district is great.
Live in Florida, all 4 seasons would be a blessing at this point.
Lmfao this guy just doesn't want people moving there, Maryland is way more expensive than Pennsylvania. Not to mention that jobs in Pennsylvania pays very well. Don't pay attention to this goof the only truth he told you was the insurance is really cheap.
I saw my house
I like living here it’s pretty relaxing unlike cities
PA sucks!!! You get fines for everything. And they will put you in jail for fines. Parking fines. They will come to your home like the SWAT team on none moving violations. And crime and fires are real in PA . That place is hell on earth. The girls have no teeth and the people are Air heads or on drugs.
Love it tell me more, where are you from
Anyone have positive things to say about moving to Lehigh valley area from Jersey? Heading there next summer
People love the Lehigh valley area, know many people have moved there and never looked back
I lived in Maryland for 25 years. PA for 40 years. Here is the bottom line. CRIME! Income tax is 5 x in MD. And you are not likely to get carjacked or shot in PA. Maryland is a Democrat shit hole. Go home. We like our safety!
I like it too
LOTS of folks in southern York County are former Maryland residents and moved here because it’s overall cheaper than MD. You are the first person that I’ve ever heard claim Maryland is cheaper than Pennsylvania.
if you invest just 50 bucks into a mic your videos would improve exponentially
Thanks I do have a mic but maybe it’s time for an upgrade
Yes, there are too many taxes, here AND other states. Nowhere is perfect. But, York PA has been my home for over 35 years. Paid well, good people, supported my business and my family goals. And you came from Baltimore? Smart. That toilet is about to flush. Keep a positive view, and quit complaining or MOVE.
Thanks for this video. My wife and I are looking to relocate to the YOUR Area.
Great! You’ll love it here.
I appreciate you making this type of specialized comment amigo. 🤙🏻
Thanks I appreciate it
Why why why don't you show the neighborhood your walking through😊
How’s the diversity?
I love York, Pennsylvania ❤ No place is perfect, Pennsylvania is about as close as you can get if you like seasons, mountains, lakes, rivers, streams, and great food.
Is York safer than other closer cities to it? Are there any better cities that are close to York? Thx
who talk to about this program
#Wineries
Yes great wineries
I like your no-nonsense candid style, bro. The only negative thing about it is that this video is too short. I really wanted to see more of your exposition of the town.
This is my hometown. I have not been home in nearly 20 years. I am so grateful to see so much I remember. I wish you talked more about the Historic side...Carlisle is a colonial town, and has effect through some of the nation's greatest trials. But well is well.
Thanks! I will be back to Carlisle soon for another video
Nice video, except for the way you say Lancaster😂. I’m from Philly and love it but the cost of living in the city is getting out of control. So, I’ve been looking at Lancaster. It’s relatively close to Philly and the cost of living 🤯
I so want to move there, but I want to be out in the country.....really would love to find a Horse property just 1-3 acres or so is enough for me.... that has access to trails are they expensive there?
Horse farm 1-3 acres near York probably sell for between 500k-1mil
@@LivingInPennsylvaniaPA Perfect ...thank you!!
Anyone know of a good builder in Central PA?
Marc Austin, Bon Ton or Berkentine
I moved to PA 24 years ago from Alabama. My 2 cents worth~ 1~ Vehicle inspections I can live with. If you ever live in a state that has none, you would probably. 2~ TAX, TAX, TAX! I have lived all over the world but I have NEVER seen a state that taxes so much and gives so little. My taxes (school/property) are $800 PER MONTH $9,600 per year! 3~ If you like cold weather, cloudy, dreary days than PA is for you. 4~ Like most places today, illegals have invaded and crime is souring. 5~ They claim they need to raise tax for police and teachers. Maybe we should hire more cops and fire more teachers. The only ones using public schools anymore are mostly illegals who don't pay tax and do the crimes.

Avoid Pensilvania period.
Harrisburg is a nice city. I live in Baltimore and coming to Harrisburg is a breath of fresh air. I would like to move there one day.
Thankyou ,Just went through here ,Its super nice ,Need good priced home retire into🙏🙏🙏🫶it
Yes my family loves shrewsbury
Buying a Pennsylvania car is a good buy as it has been kept up. Tennessee has ZERO inspection mandates. I shudder to think of the condition a TN used car.
Is Hanover safe for African American families to live?
Oh yeah many AA families here
@@LivingInPennsylvaniaPA thank you so for your reply💜
You said it like I heard. Bmore ppl moving to York. Now we wait and see I guess, huh?
Being a York county native, I will tell you, our state used to be a nice place to live. I am originally from Spry/Dalkastown. The city is slowly moving further out. We have the highest gas tax in the US. And as far as taxes? We are amount one of the highest states. And here is something of interest too. York county has a dark history. There is a lot of superstitions, and along with that, a lot of "white" witchcraft. I know, my Grandma grew up in Yoe, and her family practiced this stuff. Look up Rehmyers hollow.
$2,000 school tax? More like $5,000. State inspections are a good idea. Gives me peace of mind that the idiots driving next to me at least have a semi-safe car. Who the heck pays $500 a month car insurance?
I was thinking that too about the car insurance, $6k a year, c'mon.
I'm living in Westminster, MD. I had considered moving to PA (Gettysburg, Hanover, York area) for retirement since housing in PA is less expensive to purchase, and PA doesn't tax retirement income. But I've done the research.. At best I'd break even, and possibly cost me more to move to PA. Bottom line I'm staying in Westminster.
nice video :) im moving there to work in the post office
Nice that’s a good job
Don't move to Pennsylvania cause taxes keep going up. You never own your property just rent from the State. Roads are not good and are not upgraded for the increased population. State Government is liberal and taxes are going up. No tax relief for elderly like Delaware.
Has this guy been living under a laundry basket? I don’t know of a single state in which property taxes don’t go to schools, and you pay regardless of whether you have kids in school or not. Also, Pennsylvania is not the only state that requires periodic vehicle inspections. In fact, Maryland’s requirement that a used car has to pass an inspection before you can register it in the state is something I had never encountered in any of the 23 states I have lived in. Given this, I couldn’t watch any more of this video.
When my folks moved us to PA. in 1978, car inspections were TWICE a year.
😳
Sales tax on a used car was also a bit of culture shock...
It’s trade off. Higher taxes on lower property values. Gas tax is high. But if you work in Maryland gas up in Maryland. It’s basically a wash. Maryland is more straightforward. PA Nickel and dines you. However the lower housing cost can offset a lot in mortgage payments. This is not an endorsement of moving to PA. I’d prefer if you didn’t.

Pennsylvania is Half the Taxes of NY NJ Just Stay away From Philadelphia and Baltimore! 🎯
❤❤❤
Car insurance is not cheaper because of state inspections but the region of PA. Move to Chester, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, or Philadelphia county and you'll pay similar to Baltimore.
Moving to the area of Red Lion possibly to be closer to family. As a non-driver is there a public transportation system that is reliable to get around?
Yes in and around York there is, connecting to other towns is trickier
@@LivingInPennsylvaniaPA thank you so much
