Time for some new rear springs and some traction bars. Then you won't be axle wrappin it so bad! Lol, drive er like you stole er!😂
@@lowellfunk8974 the rear springs are actually missing a few lol. I'm just giving it hell till I can afford a 4" bds kit and I'm gonna do 3-4 link. Stay tuned!
Dude hell yes haha. Reminds me of my old chevy cheyenne 2wd i just stoved through everything to get to the good spots.
Good times💀
the fender exhaust was cool.
I put mine up in the garage after changing. No matter how bald, or worn they are. As long as they’re holding air. Never know when you or a buddy might need a tire👍🏼
Thanks Funkin Right
Awesome!
That fucken America 🇺🇸 right there fuck ya America 🇺🇸
Ohhhh brother
Looking like the locomotive I used to operate. Had to clean that bitch every other weak. Used diesel to run it and clean it.
Or a 6.0
Little oily.
What is it bad piston rings or turbo issues 😂definitely not looking good
I think it's the turbo exhaust side fingers crossed it's not the block
Super cool
Very cool!
Had a 300 in a 76 f150, it cruised freeways easy at 75 mph three on the tree manual transmission
My favorite engine for sure
Get her a seat cover and she'll give you another 40 years.
Those 300s were as reliable as a hammer!
what tyres and suspension lift do you have?
30s no lift. Switching to 35" and 4inch torch lift soon
Not your average truck
That’s a thing if audible beauty Love the dash work
yeah , you wont smell any exhaust
If you keep the window up and fill in the holes in the floor then there's a chance 🤣
Sounds fantastic one of my favorite engines
Great motor, but where's the V8 sounds mod🤔
You really need to swap the T18 (or NP435) for a '84 Diesel T19 or a Diesel ZF S5-42 - I put a Diesel T19 behind a 1986 F150 w/300-4bbl Comp Cam 260H 212°/212° with 1.7 Rockers, and a 3.25:1 Locking 9" Axle.... You Loose "Granny Gear" but on your 4x4 you have Low Range on 205 T-Case so no biggie...My Truck was ON ROAD 2WD...So No biggie.....The T19/S5-42 gears are MUCH closer together so when you shift you aren't dropping BELOW your torque curve....The 300-6 and the 6.9 IDI have almost identical torque curves, especially with some cam added!
I just shift out at 3k and I don't bottom out on the curve but it's pretty bad bog down when u hit 3rd. It would be nice to have i od too but granny low pays for itself
Aren't you supposed to run @ 2,000 rpm to break the cam in?
I'm pretty sure that's only necessary if you have solid lifters.
Yep definitely a necessity. I did that in the first part of the video but didn't really record because I had too much going on trying to keep that rpm up
Did not know this, thanks for the tip because I'm thinking about camming my EFI 300 i6, any ideas on cams?
@@ivanpudge1187 my off the shelf comp cams 268 work and has a nice chop too it but if I were to do it again I would find a company I can't remember the name to make you a custom grind with the characteristics you want. Get a lot more chomp out of it
@@dilbeck6785 I know yours is carved but do you know anything bout camming a EFI setup with auto trans? What all is needed to be done for it to be successful and what if I'm trying to produce more power instead of just having a loud idle
NOT A COLD START!
How so?
Still a great motor.
Rude and crude totally gnarly
That's a solid ass rig bro
It's only gonna get more solid. Lift and 3 link coming soon
4.9 with a stick shift 2wd short bed loved driving that truck no clutch.
No clutch?
@@dilbeck6785 Floating the gears like a big rig. Rev matching I learned on this style truck. Can't do that with newer vehicles just older ones.
@@TrokaRC I might have to give it a try
Manufacturers need to start making trucks like this again. Simple basic affordable without all the high tech gadgets.
I'm trying to start a business building old classic cars that carry the same reliability and comfort of a modern car.
@@dilbeck6785you actually have a business? I have some ideas I would love to share with someone who has the time to make it reality.
What exhaust and turbo did it have? Sounds really good!
Stock turbo. Cold air intake really brings out the whistle and wastegate. Just a 3" out the back. Got a stack on it now tho
Inline 6, 4 spd, 4wd, custom dash. Damn son, you're living right! Isn't that the last year for a solid front axle, too?
Early 80s some too. But I got lucky for sure. Rebuilding the front axle right now so we can do some wheeling
Sweet!!
Thanks!
Awesome video thanks a lot
Lotta work been put into this ol sweetheart, I love it.
Trying to burn a starter are ya
Can't stop or she'el be dead
first. Also that is a sick build. that thing is ready to rip.
Nice truck bud!!
Of it wasn't an inline six ... Id like it
That could be the inner spindle nut
Yea spindle threads and nuts were toast. Might have also been caused by the driving around...
It was probably long gone but pretty sure that has the good old school bearings that you can repack … when they aren’t completely shot.
cute man sexy blue jeans and boots
Why would someone be stupid enough to drive the truck with a bad left front wheel that needs to be fixed before driving it again 😂
I did those donuts and then drove it onto the trailer and then drove it into the shop. After I jacked it up the only thing holding the wheel on was the caliper not even the axle nut
frickin wicked dude! just curious whats your mpg like? Ive always wanted to daily something like this
12-15 as a ruff estimate. I plan on accurately testing it here soon
You see how fast that thing Started up
She loves to run!
That thing sounds fuckin' mean for a 300 i6
Thanks! Sounds great at idle. Rev it up and you gotta Honda
