Hey Rick, I have been thinking about getting an X-Air as the prices have dropped recently. The key is to make the most use of AUX's and Buss's for maximum flexibility.

Do all the virtual rack effects you've shown come with the X/air hardware purchase and can you use multiple instances of any effect in a profile as can be done with a standard DAW and audio interface?

Thank you for the video. I got it running but decode for me is very spotty, even with a really good, strong FT-8 signal. Not anywhere as good as my Icom 7300 using the same antenna. How can I adjust levels or tweak the reception when using the TCI interface?

Hello. I have watched your videos about getting EESDR to run VARAHF. That is what I am trying to do. Unfortunately the videos are out of date. I have the audio working but not the cat control. Any chance of an updated video? Any other ideas?

Darren that spike as you call it doesn't go out over air.and it's a timing or was a timing between TX to RX switching. If you increase the switching delay few ms it doesn't occur which is now how I have it set.

Sorry to say, you did not isolate the audio sources.. (Both were heard mixed together, on both channals). This would normally not be a problem IF you did A B testing..

I've been trying to make it work with my HL2. It works fine with Powersdr mrx but not with Thetis, choppy audio no matter what I do. The version I have here there is no Hermes Lite option, only Hermes. Could you please provide the link for this version? It seems the file does not exist at all, 73

What hardware is this based on? I ask because I want to download the correct version of pi-star for mine. Thank you.

You have a bent against the eesdr, and yes your issues are justified, what happened? I use expert elactrons and very much appreciate all the work you did with your videos.

Great mode. Especially if you buy the license for the higher speed. Nice features that work well. mailbox, relay function....unfortunately very few seem to be using it. Almost everybody just doing signal reports with FT8. I like doing FT8 sometimes just to see how far I can get out but it gets boring. I do most SSB when mobile with 10 meters lately.

Only 384 views, and this is repetitive verbal diarrhoea. I am not pissed, I am a happy camper, you're a bitter guy regarding this radio. I too am a person that will say what is on their mind, I too can back up things that I say, and this radio is a champion, I am a dxer, I use it daily, on HF/8/6/5/4/2M bands and 100w. I don't need the pure tone or whatever that crap is. I work DX daily. So your opinion is quite blinkered, getting caught up on this duplex rubbish, you won't work anymore dx.. So get over it... There are many and I mean many people happy with this radio, you really need to build a bridge. Move on, and stick to the herpes. No one really cares about full duplex!

When ever I need a good laugh, I listen to the group on 3.999! Oh, your 59+ 20 here tonight. Spending hundreds of dollars for equipment between the microphone and rig, for perhaps 4kHz of audio! You just need a microphone! Place the bandwidth of your SDR rigs from 3 to 4kHz, and you will hear very little energy in that bandwidth (when you have audio set to 4kHz)! Splatter comes from over driving an amplifier, or not having the mic audio set correctly... it can happen using any rig!

Is there any equivalent of Ping Jockey site for European stations?

A great reference of how clean the guys are on 3.999 with no IMD's, and shows the Buck Shot splatter box'es coming over from 3.995 they must be on Yaesu's

Really good Rick. It’s a shame that these guys have zero idea about optics of running a business. They’re liars. Period. Hermes Lite 2 blows it away as does the anan. Glad I sold mine when there was still a demand for it.

How can one edit the band plan in Thetis software? It isn't correct for my country.

There is no way to do full duplex on sunsdr with a single ADC even in time sharing it will be ugly, they must redesign it with 2 adc’s to achieve that. But wait and see.

I just wonder if you taking on a lot more than you realize ... I hope it grows exponentially but doesn't over welm you .. when word gets out. Best wishes for your success with this idea ... Purchased a HL2 today. If you can try opening up both receivers on the sun and set vfo 2 on 2 meter while vfo 1 is on hf. while setting the freq on 145.000 I'm hearing national time beacon. If I switch vfo 1 to 2 meter it corrects itself.

Really can tell you like Thetis SDR software with your HL2 !!!! Just got a HL2+ here and it light years ahead of the FlexRadio SmartSDR stuff !

The HL2 sounds better thanks to NR2. The hash on the Flex wrecks my head.

Only 3 qsos in a year. All beacons, plenty of them. I love the mode. I was a Amtor man for years, was hoping this was the mode to revitalise those lost days.

NOTE: the version of Thetis I am using which has the option for Remote use is a modified version for the Hermes Lite 2 rigs, Unless Ritchie or someone updating the standard version (aka Ritchie's versions) adds this option, it is currently only available in Reid's MI0BOT HL2 Beta 5 Thetis version- Connecting Thetis HL2 Beta 5 remotely Connect your HL2 or HL2+ to your router (HL2 or HL2+ needs to be seen by your router) On your Router you will need to open the correct port- this port also needs to be pointed to the IP address of your HL2 or HL2+ (the default is 1024 however you can specify another and I would suggest you do) Using Thetis on the side you are remoting from aka: Client side- you want the Public WAN IP address and Port number (port number used in the above step) Use the STATIC IP option BOX for the above settings check the BOX to USE STATIC IP address, UNCHECK the LIMIT SUBNET BOX Reid does suggest the following as well on the CLIENT-SIDE setting within Thetis: Sample Rate set to 4800 and set the TX Latency to 70ms and the PTT delay to 30ms. Rember this is still in testing and things may change, also remember your Internet at both locations will play a role in success as well.
