Sprint 27 is my project to build a coupe hot rod. As I make progress on the project I will be posting videos on things I learn and general items of interest.
I am by no means an expert but I have learned a great deal from others and this is my effort to do the same for others.
Enjoy the videos and good luck with your project.

Easy and Cheap Garage Door Insulation
A simple process of measuring garage door panel and cutting down a sheet of R5 foam insulation sheet. Measure bottom lip and top lip of your garage panel. Take the larger of the two measurements and add it to the height of the panel. In my case there was 17" between the panels and a 1" lip at the top. So I cut all my panels to be 18" tall. Trim the length to fit the panel and use the excess trip as a spacer behind the panel. Insert sheet all the way into the panel, slide sheet down to the more shallow lip of the panel.

Face Mill Aluminum Tormach PCNC 1100
มุมมอง 1.9K11 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my second machine operation on my new Tormach. I am taking a .312" sheet of 6061 aluminum down to .25". The first attempt at this operation I used the Surfacing Wizard in Mach 3 for the Tormach which works but is setup differently than I would like. So I wrote my own G-Code and ran it this way. I am sure there are better ways to accomplish the same goal. My goal for tonight was to get t...

What about the disc brake bracket?
Thank you
Where the felt dust washer and cap washer for it???
Jeez, quite a rig! At least you used a Corvair steering box, so I approve. :)
Ram Kumar good
Excellent - handy tips for thread cleaning. Thanks
Kevin speaking from experience I used the same setup on my friction shocks on the first trip out I didn't break but I bent one of the heims on each side and had to redesign
32 viewers paid someone to install their kingpins.
Nice work. I have a 1946 front axel what is the sling shot bracket called I can't find it
Chris Fernandez the bracket is a custom friction shock with a phenolic material.
What's with the blue gloves? I hate blue gloves!
Where's the car. Did u finish a long time ago???
Hey Kevin, I stumbled on your Hot Rod vids & wondering if you ever finished the car. The website is no longer available. Thanks
video bạn rất có ý nghĩa tôi xem để mà học hỏi mong bạn ra nhiều video nữa hay hơn thank
Seems to me that where you got the steering arm from, they would have the proper bolts for mounting it.
The hot rodder's motto (re: torx sockets): No job is too insignificant to justify buying and learning to use a new tool.
I believe you meant zerk fitting goes towards the front.
Chase allen can sure drive a race car
Possible to do a video taking it all apart?
could you do a video how you installed your friction shocks?
thanks. that's what I needed to get the job done.
I usually put one of the thin shims on top. I noticed you did not. Probably doesn't make any difference.
thanks, very helpfull
Hey Kevin. Rather then flood, consider an air blast. I use one of these, and I find with alloy and only a tiny bit of coolant it works marvelously with less cleanup :) The worst thing you can do for finishing is running over old chips ;) This small device runs quiet and doesn't use loads of power but pushes chips out of the way fast. You can either attach it with a drip feed of coolant into your loc line (I use a 25G needle) or you can use a spra-kool or similiar (kool mist). Very nice work bro. Thanks for that, it's what I needed
How did it come out? I've smoothed a few blocks for some demanding customers. I typically hire a patternmaker to make me a duplicate of the casting and then use a duplicate carver with a foredom. Takes a little time to align it, but if you're doing more than one its the way to go. There is a market for this work, once you're in you want out.
Hi Kevin! Good looking driveshaft. Do you already run it? Do you satisfied with quality?
Doing the same job on my 41 mercury, just come in from the garage to make sure it all goes together right, thanks for a very helpful video, just saved a lot of time and head scratching:)
John, Do you keep the same feed rate? In this video I kept the RPM the same and slowed the feed rate down 70%.
whew, thats a clean finish.
Sweet. You can definitely face in both directions. I read on cnccookbook that 66% stepover is ideal for facing, I forget why. For the finishing pass I do 0.005" and crank the rpm UP, gives a way better surface finish. Like 2-3x higher rpm if possible.
I have not purchased the fly cutter as of yet. I need to see if they have it back in stock. Yea the jack screws are hard to see. I actually used the studs and cap nuts from my strap kit. On the second side I placed a plastic spacer between the cap nuts and the material and it helped with the vibration some more. I also put a little more tension on the part. Ideally I would use two vises. I will buy another before too long.
i have a early ford axle like yours but its an aftermarket custom tubular style axle im using the same aftermarket spindles and king puns like yours but i have no hole for the lock bolt what would you sedgiest i do drill one maby? any advice would be much appreciated
Had the same issue had a machine shooe.bore a hole in the axle for the retainer pin
Hey Brow318...great video. Just a quick question/comment. It looks like you might have installed the 'rotor adapter', item #10 in parts list, the wrong way. I just installed the same kit on my 65 Mustang and the instructions show the raised portion of the adapter going outboard not inboard as you have it in the video. This might be why the caliper / rotor didn't line up with the 2 shims since the rotor would be closer to the caliper bracket, unless this is an application specific difference??
were did you get the kit from
Wow video quality is rough. Will have to post in higher resolution. It was filmed in 720p so it's the upload process.
