That is true. I’m hearing some are charging for extras in the dining halls however to reduce the waste of people just ordering and not finishing the meals. Which would make sense. Like eat one entree and pay a small price for a second.

That’s crazy. But I guess if you just sit in the seat and look old enough you can get a drink from the runners. But I think on carnival they still scan the ID. But I’m not sure about other lines. I’m sure they will start addressing this stuff the more it happens.

Ahh ok because on carnival they charge everyone in the cabin if the drink package is applied to one one person in that cabin. I’m not sure if there is a warning on the card to where if someone under 21 just goes to a bar on the boat to swipe the card if it will let them get it or warn they are underaged. Still crazy however.

Info embedded in the card is supposed to prevent underage sales. Someone could have passed him drinks. Some of the problems were family dynamics.

@@julieb7882 ya that’s what I was implying in the video. The father said they don’t drink. So he is implying no one in their group gave him any, unless he was supplied it from the friends he was hanging with on the boat. Still a tragic situation regardless what happened.

Absolutely. But it’s sad the family posted it with the misleading context. Medical emergencies happen all the time, so if no one ever checked then they would complain, “why did staff never check the room” . Can’t win for losing.

@@doctorbanks7 plus I know there are a lot of parents who leave their children solo while they are out and about or go to work. I personally don’t do it because anything could go wrong. No judgement on parenting but 8/6 yrs old is absolutely too young to be left alone‼️

The charge saying “with the intent to return” like it matters. I clearly remember the first time I went to run to the grocery store and left my daughter home. She had to be 12? I was all nervous. I cannot fathom that kind of neglect. This runs deeper than the cruise and I hope she gets help or else they get new parents.

@@Iggystar71 craziness. And the fact that she does this often is insane. No telling if the neighbors didn’t catch her leaving how many more times she would have done this. But just insane to think you can leave a webcam and phone and go on about your business in the ocean is crazyyyyy

Every situation is different. I’ve seen them send security off the boat to look in the port near the boat. I’ve also seen some get left. Regardless people should make sure they pay attention to the ship time and not island time. And thank you for the kind words. 🙏🏾

More tips. Always get insurance. Cruiselines insurance almost always costs more and provides much less. Get your travel agent to give you an insurance quote. Never book directly with the cruiselines. Always use a travel agent. You will never pay more with an agent. You will often pay less, get extra perks, etc. Any issues? Your agent will spend time on hold with the cruiseline! You won’t! You can choose to let the cruiseline pay your travel agent who will give you personal attention, or you can choose just to give that same money to the cruiseline which will not give you the same level of personal attention. Do make sure your agent has experience with cruises.

With my Royal Caribbean cruise we checked in 6 weeks in advance. When you book you should be told when checkin is.

@@JaniceCrowell Royal and Carnival function differently. Royal lets you check in about 45 days prior where as Carnival is 14 days prior.

The deposit is what you pay to hold a spot on the cruise ship. What I was saying is depending on your VIFP level, that deposit can vary. Some deposits are as low as $50/pp and some are as high as $100/$200/pp depending on the amount of days sailing etc. all rooms are based on double occupancy though. I hope this cleared it up. If not ask me directly what you meant. 🙏🏾

@@christinaoshaughnessy1974 that’s sweet. I’ll be doing that in August but it will hit Cabo instead. And the internet to me works fine. Just purchase the package that best suits what you want to do. And if it’s not working great. Go to guest services and they can remove it.
