Not sure about the 'fully renovated' Long Bar? The attraction for me in 2013 was the old enduring character of the place. The old dark wood and non-contemporary surrounds and an elevating atmosphere. Looks like blue has been added to the bar? Why? Restore it as it is, a period bar. Oxford and Cambridge know about this. They preserve the old and never change the ancient colleges. I think it is a shame you are kind of dumbing it down to cater for the clientelle instead of preserving the natural lush atmosphere. Never bow to commercialism. Preserve without fear. Let them see what a real bar is.

Loved the Long Bar. Amazing special experience in 2013. Everything about it. Had two Singapore Slings while seated at the bar. Very lovely experience. Staff were polite and attentive. I love that!

so we are to believe three LOUD shots rang out and the tiger didn't run away & just stood there to receive the 4th shot (in pitch darkness) between its eyes by a headmaster still in his pajamas? Yeah, right ^^facepalms^^

You destroyed it... 2 centuries in the making down the drains with one bad decision to strip yourself clean of your true identity. Try auctioning off any of the new furnitures you got for your greedy renovation! You cant, they are all rubbish. Try looking at the old photos of our beloved ruffles before the renovation and you will realize what has been destroyed. Owning a great institution does not allow you to play games with it. Ruffles stand above time, above competition and above all classes. Yet you bring it down to a 4 star grade hotel you can find anywhere today. Now its your responsibility to bring back the old ruffles... bring back our Jubilee hall, the old tea room and the same lobby we all love... please... not for me, not for you, but for Singapore, its children and for humanity. This renovation should never have happened. You owned something grate and you abused it.
