Gift giving has always been a stressful thing to me. About a decade back, our family decided not to exchange gifts amongst the adults. So now only having to get something for the kids has made Christmas much easier to get through. Hope you really enjoy the holiday, Melanie! You're a wonderful person that deserves all the best in life.

There is no one left in my wife's and my family and we don't have any friends outside of online. We don't bother giving each other gifts at Christmas but we give each other gifts all year long. The greatest gift that we give each other is the same one we've given for almost 50 years. Undying love and loyalty.

High maintenance will never be satisfied and I don't have to dwell on that as for me I'll let them spend their own money to get what they fucking want. I've dealt with ungrateful people before as they don't phase me.

Hello Melanie, Great advice, So true there are many life lessons to be learnt in the art of gift giving and receiving, to find a gift that will be remembered and cherished by both parties is truly a task, but boy when it does happen What a gift, lol when you were teaching your kid about gift giving brought back the memory of when i tought my kids that lesson, Three kids around the age of ten Christmas the only gift i gave was each a potato That morn when they opened their gift not a word was spoken they would look at the potato then look at me over and over again, about twenty years later the three kids all chipped in and bought me a father's day gift beautifuly wrapped Guess what it was? I think that potato was the best gift i ever got, Love ya Melanie have a great Christmas 🧡

That's hilarious! Love the idea of turning anger into harmless treachery. At my former job, we had a large number of supplemental workforce come out for 2 months for planned outages and their designated building/work area was completely empty for the other 10 months. I always despised those temp contractors trashing our plant and being rude and disrespectful for their stay. The night after the last of them left for the year, amongst everything else in disarray, a janitor left an industrial size box of like 2 thousand count tampons in the hallway by my post. I spent the next 2 hours taking that box into every office and breakroom in the building. Every single unlocked drawer, cabinet, closet or tool box received a tampon. In subsequent years, I no longer viewed their arrival as "that time of year" and instead thought of it as that time of the month. Their rude behavior stopped bothering me after that knowing they would be finding tampons in file cabinets for many years after I was gone.

Probably necessary for some. I have found since Covid that pretending to sneeze uncontrollably often gets the crazy person to run away!😂 it works great on airplanes too when someone ahead of you reclines into your lap. Coupled with a splash of water it’s even better!
