Drawing a conclusion based on numbers only is fairly foolish. I own a PAS and I love it. But disqualifying the GS simply because it is a couple of pounds heavier and a tad slower doesn't make the other one shine that much more. The GS has qualities that the PAS doesn't have and vice versa. Among the reason why I chose the PAS over the GS is mostly because I have access to a dealer almost next door. The price wasn't the driver for me. BMW has reputation that is spotless. Harley is working hard to keep its customer and offering a totally different bread of motorcycle is among the effort they've made to accomplish that. And they succeeded. I love the Pan America. It is perhaps the nicest bike I ever owned in 15+ machines over a 45 year period as an adult rider.

I have had a 1990 FZR 1000 for 25 years now, I'm 50 years and every time I rid it I'm 25 again, what a great bike and a great ara.

Just bought my first gear bike.. always rode a automatic.. so got a Lifan Lycon 250 d amazing cruiser. It's light but being a v twin 250 sounds good and handles amazing..and had the umph! To get you on the highway..

This is proof you don't have to get over 200MPH to have fun. It's just like a 4cil, 1000cc, that you can rev'up happily without breaking (too much) the law.

Having been the one and only owner of a 2014 RC8R, yes. It does seem daunting to ride the first time you get onboard, especially considering the fact that there are no electronic rider aids to help you out of a hole you could end up putting yourself into. With that being said, over time I've come to realize that it honestly doesn't need them. This bike doesn't hail from the same batch of bikes that have been made since the S1000R burst onto the scene. KTM did their homework and spent some serious R&D time to create a chassis that has all the same great characteristics of a late-00's Honda CBR600RR; namely how communicative, supple, firm and steady it is. You ride it and you realize rather quickly that this bike talks to you in plain language and tells you exactly what's happening all the time. It's the one purchase I've made in my lifetime that I can't bring myself to regret.
