Wondering how well the seal holds up when cutting like that, every laminating pouch says to leave a border around the paper. So when you cut through it like that doesn't it ruin the seal?

hii, i just got my machine today and ive tried everything but it's not working for me 😭 im using matte paper so there is no glare or anything, ive tried manually, i tried this trick with light, i used full thickness of my lines and i tried colouring my square too 😭 pls help

Thank you! I have a portrait 1 and was having a lot of issues and i wasn't sure if it was because my machine was old. I bought it cheap off the internet to "make sure" i would really use it before spending big moo laa's on it. I have been using it. I wasn't sure if it was these old mats it came it or because of the machine being old. I did your little trick with the light and BAM...worked. Question...apparently, my gaming laptop is too GOOD to work with this thing, because it has a hard time connecting because it will only connects through the the USB (doesn't have blue tooth). I end up unplugging it and plugging it into another USB and keep going back and forth until it will connect. I have to do your light trick EVERY time or it will not read. Just having little issues like this...but it does take more time to cut one sticker sheet. I have been looking all of the internet and these seem like issues everyone has at some point with all machines. Does anyone notice things being a lot easier on the new machines? Just wondering.

This worked! Thank you. As a side note, instead of worrying about directional light (like a flashlight on a phone) or a tripod. I got my Trond daylight lamp (from amazon but any daylight lamp should work) and clipped it to the table- I put it on the lowest setting. Worked perfectly the first time with your hack 👍

Hallo, wie kommt es, dass das Papier nicht rausrutscht, Sie haben es ja sehr knapp geschnitten. Also keine Laminierfolie an den Seiten erkennbar. Bei mir sind die Seiten nach dem Schneiden offen, hatte allerdings 2 Papiere übereinander. Schöne Arbeit, Danke fürs Zeigen. Gruß aus Deutschland Anke

Rafaela, I must say this has been the most useful video I have watched. I was frustrated with my Portrait... I Google forums, even in Silhoutte's web page looked for answers and absolutely nothing worked I even changed the settings for the print paper. Thanks for taking your time to show us how you figured it out. Kudos!

Beautiful work. Here’s a tip when you make the offset, while it’s still selected select release compound path then unclick the outline you want to keep, and delete the inner lines.

Thank you for this tutorial. Very precise! I am fuzzy on how to get my cameo 4 to cut both the red and blue lines. It looks to me like I got the settings like you had them for the red, then blue lines. But when my machine cut them, it only cut out the kiss cut line (the red)...and it was done =(

thanks for the video but it didnt work for me, i dont know what to do, im so stressed right now because i have a project and the machine only reads whenever it wants, even with the same settings it register some and others dont, im really frustrated and i have watch so many differents videos and i still dont know why sometimes does it and others failed, i have lost so much material by now 😭😭
