Striking at West Point
มุมมอง 134 หลายเดือนก่อน
My friend and neighbor, who's retired from the US Army, brought me up to the campus of the US Military Academy at West Point for a day out. We stopped at their MWR building which had a very modern 10 lane bowling center. Yes, I bowled and bowled well there.
Yes I can hook a bowling ball!

Rare Dr Pepper movie ad
มุมมอง 34ปีที่แล้ว
This is the extended version of an intermission ad for Dr. Pepper. Most versions have an animated Jill towards the end. This version has a live action Jill instead. (NOTE AND DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO THIS AD!)

The tracks ran behind my house in White Plains...now the White Plains Greenway. The Gedney station was a block away. Fun video, thanks! 🎉
Irish. They gotta be on a ship, drinking, or fighting. Sometimes all three. Yeah, I'm Irish, as well as English, dane, French, Spanish, Creek and Choctaw. Mostly Irish though.
A classic commercial! I'd love to see a cover version by Meav of Celtic Woman fame.
Theyre currenty doing a lot of digging on Quaker Ridge road where the old Fountain Head catering hall used to be. Approximately 1,000 feet following the ROW from where the North Ave station was. Im thinking of sneaking onto the property as there absolutely has to be remnants buried…. ties, concrete structures, rail spikes, etc. Fascinating but always kind of sad.
but not Gekkeikan on chicken, pass!
Nice Shot Mop!!!!!!💪💪
The Best I've ever Seen You Roll it👍💪
Tommy, we need to bowl for a coffee or sugar Free soda. I haven't rolled a ball since 2003
Tommy, i have been Binge watching old PBA telecasts recently. Truly believe that the tour was Actually More exciting in the 1970,'s & 1980's!!!! imho.
Love those Retro commercials.👍
Okd School cash Register Mop?
Tommy, i finally saw the Men in Black 3 Bowling Alley Scene. Sad to hear that they closed down. PS; Tommy What year did they Film that Movie there?

I don’t live too far from North Avenue in New Rochelle I live in the town of Eastchester
Great Shot and Awesome Camera Angle!!
Tommy, what House is that in?
Put some Doo Doo on that ball Louie😂😂
When i was about 12 i went to visit my friend's brother who played point guard for Army.
Hello Tommy. Is that west point, the military academy?
Nice hook 😅
I grew up (late 12:34 70's & 80's) less than a block from where the tracks ran between the Quaker Ridge and Heathcote stations. Many of the houses had rails piled up in their backyards kind of hidden out of sight. However, during games of manhunt we would always come across these old rails.
Wow! This has been up here for *nine years*? It was part of my "watch the space launches" childhood (I see I am not the only one :) ) and it took me years after that to track it to the original "Gallant Forty Twa" it was based on (of course Google didn't work nearly as well back then as it would not exist for several decades :) ). Ironically was just doing some Googling today on the original and its Wikipedia article actually had a link to here which is how I found it. Of course I would have sworn it was Exxon or Mobil --- never thought of Gulf.
A great commercial, showing just how much TV advertising has declined. But this was being shown some 25 years before the Exxon Valdez oil spill. And it didn't get much coverage in the US, but 10 years before a tanker off loading at terminal in Bantry Bay (seen in the final shot) caught fire and exploded. Fifty people were killed and a major oil spill resulted. This commercial was also before major concern about global warming. No oil company is going to take out ads glorifying their tankers any more.
I dated my present wife back in the 70’s She lived only a few blocks from 219th street and White plains rd station. And I was coming from Brooklyn. That was a long haul. Must’ve been love (LOL) Great train memories.
I saw this commercial in 1967. The commercial has stuck in my head since then. It sounds like a old Irish love song.
Great memories of this commercials....getting up super early to watch the Apollo launches....let me go back, just for one day!
Back when oil was not bad! It got us to where we were, and to this day, it’s brought to where we’re at.
I was there at the Fair in 1964 and went to the Hall of Science. But something is missing in the movie.
This is essentially the "lost" Bell Science short as it's by Frank Capra and is done in the style of "Our Mr. Sun" and "Hemo the Magnificent"- in fact the clip of the owls and the fish coming out of the sea I believe are from Hemo. Some music cues are the same as Our Mr. Sun. The only thing missing is the wonderful Dr. Frank Baxter (Dr. Research).
I think in the crowd there is Alan Reed (voice of Fred Flintstone)and Sid Melton. I also hear Marvin Miller, June Foray, and Mel Blanc's voices, I believe.
Maximum Bob is Waiting For You in P.B.A.50. 👍
Loved it!
The movie that inspired Kubrick to make 2001
1:51 Bascule bridge closed permanently due to a new pedestrian bridge next to it blocking Bronx River vessels. No Port Morris, Casanova or Hunts Point Station.
When I was a child in the 1960's my Irish neighbors listened to music that all sounded to me like The Clancy Brothers. Fortunately years later I discovered the wonderful variety of Celtic music.
👍👏😊❤️ I enjoyed this video very much...... thanks for posting
I saw that movie on a school field trip in maybe 3rd or 4th grade, somewhere around 1969 or 1970.
Epic commercial, thank you Gulf …👍🏻
I remember this ad from the NBC coverage of the moonshots. Gulf was the exclusive sponsor of the coverage, and this ad celebrated the new generation of supertankers.
I live ear the Whiddy Island oil terminal and I can see it from my house
Remember watching this in school when our teacher would show coverage of the Apollo missions. Happy memories!
What are the rules
THANK YOU! It's been over fifty years and I still remember this. Was always on the coverage of the NASA shots. Great song!
Man I wish I could ride the NYW&B
You can, if you ride an IRT 5 train from E. 180th Street to Dyre Avenue.
@@pbatommy I know that
My favorite kid song along with "big fig newton,"
Back when oil was respected as the fuel of freedom and prosperity.
Remember these....had them all the time as a child!
This is one of the most underrated games Goodson/Todman ever created. I have the Milton Bradley board game of this show. You can even play the Open Game with 3 answers in a row with 2 verbal one word clues with $50 bills. This episode aired Wednesday May 7, 1964 because Frank Buxton mentioned Jane Withers is a guest on Missing Links.
Do you have any footage re: New Rochelle?
Wow! Nostalgia! Is it possible for me to use and share this footage on my youtube page? I share footage from all kind of activities on our ocean. Cargo ships in the 1960s till now, oil rigs, fishing vessels, etc. Of course full credit will be given to the owner of the footage. Looking forward to your reply. Kind regards. Cheers.
