Caravan damp detection - comparing pin & pinless moisture meters (nb: read description)
Trying out 3 moisture meters on "caravan like" materials to see how they behave. The first 2 meters have settings for different materials but the “bobble head” meter has a chart in the booklet that converts the “DISPLAYED” reading to a WOOD moisture % - you have to halve the displayed value so 20% displayed = 10% for wood and 50% displayed = 25% for wood. That is the maximum wood range. I think that works.
Btw - the thin plastic sheet over the wood (mimicking vinyl) made no difference to the pinless readings.

Powrtouch Classic Motor Mover: Cover removal & bearings etc.

How to remove the cover off a caravan Powrtouch Classic motor mover, service it by greasing it up and how to replace the roller bearings. Handy photos from the PowrTouch website where you can buy replacement components; www.powrtouch.com/changing-a-motor-model-3-4-6-classic/
How did you remove the roller?
Hi - you can only remove the roller by completely dismantling the mover. There is a bolt through the gear inside the housing through into the end of the roller so you can never just pull/wack it out after removing the “3 bolt” roller end cover. Does that answer your question?
@@MrRichardmorris yes. I had it dismantled, it just needed a couple of whacks with a hammer to get the spline of the roller to release. 👍 Thanks.
@@themorfill Brilliant!
That was really interesting thanks'
Helpful video, many thanks.
Hi great video I'm fitting one of these to my caravan now I'm just wondering how big is the gap between the motor mover and wheels before it is engaged thanks
This link will show you the different values based on model number: www.powrtouch.com/roller-gap-adjustment/ Hope that helps- and good luck!
Great video Richard, I’ll drop my van of later for new bearings.❤
