    This is the tractor I learned on, I drove one of these without hydraulics and PTO for around three years, all the impliments were old horse drawn ones trailed behind the Major. We also had a Standard, war issue.

    Wow! Six years ago and I've only just found the clip! Great to hear the ol' TC roar back into life after it's slumber. I've got a '79 Triumph 2500S M/OD - one of the last to come out of the Nelson, NZ factory and first registered 4 days after the plant closed. She was an absolute peach, but I parked her outside because I needed my garage to store things for a mate for a while, then I got quite sick for a long while and she's been parked there now for coming up on four years too. Unfortunately, Auckland is not as dry as where you are and the damp has taken its toll and allowed the tin worm to flourish in a few spots and the right rear brake has locked on even though the handbrake has been off, so now that I am better than I was, I have a bit of a project to get her back on the road. First trick will be to get the garage sorted again and get her back inside after a thorough waterblasting and a good wash! Your wee beasty looks to have solid bones at least and that engine sounds darn good....although the gearbox might need a bit of oil from the sound of it. Typical Triumph saloon! Love the beasts myself. Bought mine back in August 2017 because I was in the market for a Stag and couldn't find one I was happy with. She ran like a one-legged dog when I bought her, but I knew what was wrong and it wasn't a hard fix. Got her running sweet as a nut and drove it several thousand km before I found the Stag I wanted (at the other end of the country) and drove it back home......but then I could NOT bear to sell the 2500S! I loved driving it too much! The Stag has been used since I've been able to get around again, but to be honest, it's just not a pinch on the 2500. The 2500 is so chuckable in the corners and she'll do anything and handle anything I throw at (or ask of) her.....and better than the Stag does. Before I parked it, my family and I had been away in it several times and I used it as my daily driver, clocking up over 30,000km in the beast in 4 years. She carried anything from the weekly shopping to several bags of cement in her boot - including a spare gearbox and diff in one trip and a pile of other parts - including the bonnet off a 1977 Mini - in another. Such a practical, comfortable, fun car to drive....and yet it is surprisingly good on petrol for a six cylinder. When I do the engine at some point down the track, I'm going to drop a cam with a TR5 or road race grind in the beast - something that will increase the torque in the low end and keep the power on until around 5000rpm - and slap a set of headers on it. THEN it will be absolutely perfect! Good luck with yours, mate. Hope you still have it!

    You have done a beautiful job on the old lady I was born into one in Ireland,meaning it was there before me and started driving it when I could reach that clutch pedal,bit disconcerting for the neighborhood farm kids from Fergy David Brown etc with I thought clutch pedal on wrong side Why Ford did that?. I have done quite a lot of work and research on them the clutch drag is caused by the oil been wet clutch another Fordson quirk and no clutch brake it will drag and cause gear grind We would overcome it by snapping it into 1st gear and go from there and the power train on them is virtually unbreakable There’s a good Canadian channel bloke does full engine etc rebuild can’t think of the channel name right now Thanks again Good Luck 🍀🍀☘️☘️🇦🇺🇮🇪

    I have been waiting for this video for years. I am so pleased with the outcome, what a great tractor, you can be very proud of how it has turned out. I am so pleased that you have kept the toque grips on it as they are very much of the era that tractor would have been working. There is a chap in Ballarat who makes reproduction Yuba spark arrestors that were so common on these, but the streight pipe sounds sharp. You can hear it has good compression. Wish I could drop in and take it for a spin. It remember when my dad used 2 of these as as his only tractors and the post hole digger set up was very common. All the best, Dave.

    Nice tractor , running well , was it running on TVO or just straight petrol , TVO in case you call it something else is a class of kerosene / parrafin here in Ireland . Cheers🤔

    • @everythingold7968
      @everythingold7968 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just run it on petrol, kerosene is a bit expensive here at $117 for a 20L drum and its only lighting kerosene which still works just fine. You can't get power kerosene/TVO here anymore which is a bit annoying. Petrol right now is at about $1.90-$2.0 per Litre. We mainly say kero/kerosene here but we know what you mean when you say TVO or parrafin. Should be a video up soon of that tractor again. I've just finished fully restoring it. Thanks for Watching.

    When mounting valves they work better when the water or steam supply is under the seat. In this manner the valve stem doesn't have to pull the plug away from the seat. There's also the ability to repack the stem under pressure should it be necessary.
