My 3 card setup is Vx, Savor One, and US Bank Shoppers card. We are Walmart/Amazon patrons so the 6% back on those is sweet. Not to mention 3% on utilities.

This is definitely a new and unique setup. Usually people recommend a trifecta of cards from the same bank, or they recommend the Amex Gold Card for 4x groceries and 4x restaurants, with the Citi Custom Cash Card for 5x gas stations, with the Capital One Venture X for 2x everything else, plus the travel benefits.

Is this still applicable a year later?

Great video! Last year, I got into credit cards and added the VX, Bilt, and Savor to my core setup in that order. My first anniversary miles credit for the VX should arrive in my account next week!

Is there any way to avoid hard inquiries for a new card? If not, how did you manage the hard inquiries with so many cards? Just curious

I set up my P2 with the Cap 1 duo. Easy for her to optimize only two cards, easy for me to remember to use just the one $300 coupon for her setup. I personally churn but value Chase points highly because, y’know, Hyatt. I play an upgrade/downgrade game with the Sapphire cards.

How long did you sign your contract?

I got PRK surgery last year. Recovery was painful at first and long, but it is so so worth it. I have been recommending everyone with glasses to get the surgery. I love that I don't have to worry about wearing glasses for everything, especially first thing in the morning. It is painful only when they put that clamp on your eyeball for surgery. After surgery, small particles of old removed cornea stayed in the eyes and it was very very painful to close or open the eyes. It got better in few days and then it was only kept getting better. Vision doesn't get perfect right away, it take months for it to be near perfect. However, i didn't need glasses or anything right after the surgery. Now, i can't even properly remember what it was like living with glasses, only thing i remember now is feeling bad and unable to do a lot of things properly. I 110% recommend getting this done if you can't see clearly without glasses. I used to even have trouble seeing faces of person standing right infront of me when talking, without glasses and my eyesight wasn't even as bad as many other people i know, only 3.5 or so.

I am glad you recovered. I had surface ablation surgery (mostly the same as LASIK) done to my eyes 1 year ago to correct myopia. I had about -6.5 in each eye before surgery and wore thick glasses all my life. I recovered in 45-50 days. I no longer have that stinging sensation I had for the first 6 months whenever I would blink my eyes tightly. I got it done especially because I was joining martial arts but also because I wanted to look better. Best decision ever.

My dumb ass clicked on this thinking PRK stood for People's Republic of Korea.

I had photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Ft. Campbell, KY on Dec 6, 2006. They told me PRK “has fewer complications but more discomfort than LASIK.” They told me before they started that I would feel a LITTLE pressure. It is weird to describe. There was no pain but I felt like the pressure would make my eyes would burst. It felt like my eyeballs had been pulled out with the nerves left intact and elephants were trampling them (but again, no pain). Then the laser did its thing and it smelled bad but when they poured water in my eyes afterward, it was the clearest I've ever seen. Any itching, I'd take eye drops. They gave me Percocet for the next four days but I took half the dose they said for two days and then stopped. I just used more eye drops. I learned quickly that when it started itching, if I didn't hydrate my eyes, it would be painful in 10-15 minutes so the only pain was right when I woke up There wasn't much pain afterward except from itching and eye drops took care of that. I had a sunglasses-as-needed-for-comfort-for-six-months profile, which irked my platoon sergeant so much. 15/10 would recommend. I wore glasses from when I was four years old until I was almost 23. Now I'm 41 and my vision isn't quite as good as it was a year after the surgery but it's still so much better than it was before the surgery

How come the awardhacker website does not show Turkish airlines miles which is the lowest of all shown? In such situation, we wouldn't know to look for Turkish airlines and get the JFK to LAX flight for 7500 miles only. Also, I am looking for a flight from which is roughly 7500 miles one way. On awardhacker, Cathay pacific shows 42k miles but when I go to its website, it shows me 47k miles plus 2.5k HKD charges(tax, fees and surchages). Am I missing something?

I have the delta platinum.. the biggest incentive is the companion certificate but with the reserve is the sky lounge and the seat upgrades. Is it true you need to book first class to use the sky lounge?

For the Amex business gold card it sounded like groceries and auto related coded as the restaurant and gas category for you. If that's the case the business gold is a work horse card!

That deadlift would not have counted. You didnt control it on the way down on the first rep and you redid your grip before that last one. Just one of this is a No-Go.

I love the Venture, I was offered an upgrade from Quicksilver to Venture. So I took it and they waived the $95 annual fee. I’ve had the quicksilver since 2018 and I have the Savor one now call the savor.

It feels like you have to wait for a crash and then buy properties. With the way inflation is going you should see a nice increase in equity and that's where the real money is. Everything else is balancing leverage.

It would be nice if the CSR also provided hotel status. While not useful stateside, it would be really handy traveling overseas.
