It's my first time seeing this video and I've got to say it has been the most organized and the most helpful to starting my kids on homeschool this year. Thank you so much for sharing your hard work! I am also a working mom. I am a first responder (law enforcement) so it can feel overwhelming doing the planning but this video is so helpful. Thank you!!

What a great video! Thank you for sharing what worked in your homeschool. I’ve been curious about some of these, especially the science into studies. I also appreciate that you share resources that have worked for you as a homeschool mom who is working….My husband and I have a family business that goes through busy seasons and less busy seasons, but it is very unpredictable in terms of when it gets busy, so I definitely need open and go curriculums that don’t need a lot of prep work.

I am looking into getting the Reading pathways. If a child successfully finishes it, what reading level would they be?

I would love to hear more specifics about how you manage homeschooling and being a practicing attorney. Something like a day in the life overview for a day you are also working would be valuable. I am a 3L and just had my baby in August. Managing school has not been easy, but it's been doable. I really hope to homeschool in the future and my current plan is that I will able to go solo by the time my son would start but I know that time management as a solo attorney can already be difficult. It would be immensely valuable for me to see an example of how another homeschool mom/attorney manages their daily commitments.

I can't really recommend it yet, but for art next year I'm looking into "Ever Ancient, Ever New: Art History, Appreciation, Theory, and Practice" by Catholic Heritage Curricula. It looks beautiful with some hands-on project ideas. There is a volume 2 as well.

I feel so blessed that the algorithm recommended this video today! It’s finally recommending Catholic homeschoolers to me-yay! I’m a professor at a Canadian university. My older daughter is in grade 8 in our homeschool, and I have her doing BJU English 8, BJU science, BJU Spanish 1, and BJU Math-all of these are from the distance online. She also does two lessons per week in Saxon math (she needs some spiral to help her remember concepts 😅👍🏾). I have her doing Mass readings and reflection, Seton’s Witness to the Faith, Seton’s Spelling, and also IEW (but at a slower pace -we are year-round-homeschoolers, so it works out). There are a lot of people that are adamant that Catholic homeschoolers shouldn’t use BJU, but I find that their Distance Online is excellent. Also, I feel that as long as I don’t rely on BJU to teach Bible and use Catholic sources instead, the kids will be very Catholic. My eldest daughter also does confirmation classes at our Catholic parish too. My youngest daughter does BJU for English, Reading, and Math, but also does Seton reading, religion, phonics, spelling, and vocabulary, and mass readings with our family. I’m a convert to the Catholic faith-I was raised Pentecostal, then became Anglican in my 30s, then started wondering what was different between Anglicans and Catholics so decided to read Catholic primary and secondary sources about Catholicism….and finally converted to the Catholic faith😍👍🏾. It’s wonderful to see all you’re offering to your kids through homeschooling🎉

Do you still work part-time? I have a 2yo and newborn and would like to be a SAHM now and homeschool when they’re ready. I wood have to work part-time from home if I quit now. Is working at home part-time doable with homeschool and extracurricular activities?
