I absolutely LOVE high voltage crossover for the breach cutter and pairing it with the stubby. High voltage crossover is great because the slow means you can skip the stun mod and replace it with Armor Stripping. It instantly kills every weak bug, and strips naked and slows most strong bugs with armor, setting you up to kill them even faster with the stubby.
Raw damage pgl is the black sheep of pgl builds .
you forget that the lok1 has an innate armor break feature at max locks, defeating the purpose of the armor break oc.
Still using HE Grenades instead of Neuro? Still a greenbeard.
@@techdeckdudes_ still making fun of people for using what they like?

@@sirsquidles1183 season 5, patch 5 (September 17th)
How did you hide the dwarf picture on the bottom left of the screen? i really liked the minimalistic look of the hud. Loved the video btw
It's somewhere in the UI settings. I think it's called "player icons" or something.
Why your FOV is so small?
@@_-AJAL-_ that’s the default FoV.
@derpykat5 Wow, maybe you should increase it to maximum, I'm surprised at how little it can be seen, I didn't remember it being so small by default.
I usually find overclocks pair better on certain mission types than others, so i build according to what mission type i want to handle. For example, i like to pair nuero lasso with overdrive booster for these 2 on caretaker missions. Build around max stun, max clip, max locks slowdown and fear and its a great build for dealing with swarms during the hacking, and whatever threats the caretaker can throw at you. I also quite enjoy plastcrete catalyst on salvage operation and pair it with the revamped turret arc, lay down a bunch of plats and the entire defend area essentially becomes a bug minefield. I think that's something we lose when we look at these oc's in a vacuum. Many ocs are niche enough that on most missions you may not want to take them, but in those niche situations, they really shine.
i think breach cutter is the only weopen that clean ammo oc is just best because how powerful the base gun is
ECR with breach cutter ammo oc is just neceserry for haz 5 +
1:31 “pump action is the new clock on the block” goes insanely hard
how many missions did you play witch each overclock? in haz 4 even the bad overclocks seem to be okay even if they're not, not enough pressure to make the weakneses show up; and the strengths of the good ones don't shine.
The plasma burster missile is THE best gunner single target build, i think you may have used it wrong, in dreadnought missions it shreds
@@smord9o honestly? Yeah. I think the issue was I wasn’t spamming it, I only ever had 2-5 missiles out at a time. Using it like that was certainly ammo efficient but not ideal for single target damage output.
👍👍
Some corrections as I go through the video: -all upgrades work as normal on cluster charges. Direct damage and weakpoint, however, do nothing for your clusters because they have a x0 direct damage multiplier. -Salvo (and most other hurricane builds, too) should run t3 rof because it allows you to load rockets faster. -plasma burster missiles is moreso a single target weapon that happens to have quite good crowd clear. After its “ramp up”, it has some of the highest dps in the game as well as having obscene total damage. Much more than “not particularly high”. -minelayer doesn’t lack stopping power, as its able to abuse the t5 stun mod to hell and back. -ultra magnetic coils really wants t5 elec, as opposed to trail width shown in the video. UMC is the only way to increase trail radius outside of the t5 mod, so you can get the coveted extra-wide electric trails.
also that fear isnt running away from the trail (in hellfire OC section of the video). It make the creature applied with fear runs randomly 10m from their original point. I've seen many times a glyphid near the trail, based on their walking direction they wouldnt get hit, but once I shot the gun and they get "fear" they run towards the trail. Or when I shot a praetorians in the face, it runs towards me, but they did cancel their spit attacks. Its just 10m run, the moment fear applies, towards whatever direction (so they can run to the trail, or away from it, doesnt matter). The reason to use fear upgrade, is once the enemy are burned, they have fear effects and make them focused on running on random direction, so they will burn themselves to death. Its the same reason as using Neurotoxin Payload fear on autocannons. Bonus is it also make nearby enemy stop attacking you, and hopefully they run towards the trail as well if you're lucky.
@ yep, that’s all good information. One of the reasons electric trail is so good is because it slows the feared enemies as they run to their 10m destination. Fear doesn’t end until they get to that point, so slowing them greatly lengthens the duration of the effect. This has the effect of being absolutely, utterly broken and essentially lets you shit on everything the game can throw you. There’s a reason very few top level players run it, but if you need results there’s nothing better.
this really makes you realize how much better the OCs for newer weapons are
When those 2 weapons came around i didnt like any of them. Now after some time (and i decided to play with them for weapon maintenance thingy) i can see how plasma can be fun. I used to only run it with overheat OC, because that's fun, but particle accelerator took me by surprise with how good it is. You have roughly 17 damage and 800ish ammo. Gunners minigun has 10 damage and 1500 effective ammo. They're quite close on total damage, and it is felt. Im not more open to trying out the other ones. The crossbow tho. I still can't see the reason for it to exist. Tripleshot is kinda bad on higher hazards, fire/cold are good, but clunky and unless you're playing solo you'll have to make the whole team play around them OR feel useless af since ppl tend to just shoot bugs lol. The ricochet one is just kinda bad. You have to take damage mod to oneshot grunts, and you have like 20 total ammo. The gun can kill 60! grunts before having to resupply. And that sucks. That's also assuming you always hit 3 grunts and only grunts since swarmers would be wastful and anything else just doesnt die off 1 shot. All the other OCs dont change the gun that much, and OCless crossbow is just confused, dealing too much damage and not enough AOE to shoot smaller enemies, too little damage to shoot bigger enemies and having an arced projectile prevents it from being a tool to deal with important enemies from afar. It just has no niche. And it also doesnt reload in the pocket, which i know is normal for DRG, but for some reason it still bugs me.
2:38 I hate that so much. This weapon was too good for engi so gsg had to make it unusable somehow, and they sure did figure out how. It's so frustrating to see this "i cant believe it's not butter" spread of 1/2 locks instead of just getting 3 on at least one of the enemies.
For the green trail duration OC, i think tier 2 B is the better upgrade, since it lets us spam trails by shooting with minimal charge, which consumes less ammo.
Correction on cluster charges, they reflect the aoe stat of the base hurricane rather than having their own aoe stat, so the aoe radius upgrade does affect them, and quite substantially at that
You are correct. They are quite literally just missiles with 9 area damage and x0 direct. So every mod works as expected, except for the direct damage and weakpoint mods. They can’t add anything because the overclock multiplies it by 0. Even nitro works, it just starts counting from the moment the clusters are spawned in.
wow this is a ton of useful information i’m definitely subscribing
What? Plasma bursters have stupid high dps and are even good on dreadnought missions. I have no idea how you were using this overclock but it was certainly not what I'm used to.(also, pro tip alway take the rate of fire mod on the huricane, no matter the build
Ya i was baffled when he said it has poor single DPS. From what I remember if built for it, it has the single highest single point DPS with nitro.
8:56 One thing worth mentioning about the re-atomizer is that ALL statuses can be transferred to enemies which includes the 99% damage resistance of your Steve...
That was patched out a while ago, to my knowledge it doesn't work with any of the weirder status effects anymore
That cut around 1:51 of you getting hit by a spreader to bosco having one less revive gave me a good laugh I highly suggest using the rate of fire upgrade over the mag upgrade when not using Rocket Rarrage and somewhat Overtuned Feed Mechanism. Most of the time the mag seem tempting but the higher Rof is a much more significant boost to your dps than it seems. Also it's important to note when overclocks multiply a stat, for exemple JFH damage boost also affect the +5 direct damage upgrade in tier 1 and turn it into a +10.
hey, quick question regarding the re-atomizer oc on the coilgun... if a scout has the marked for death oc on the m1000 can it you spread the focus shot debuff to, for example, an entire swarm? would test this out myself if i had the oc but unfortunately i dont
Great video. Just one thing Hell fire is Extremely broken and by far the strongest Overclock that he has
I'd argue ultra magnetic coils deserves that title. The larger trail radius allows you to take the electric damage upgrade instead of bigger radius, and use it with controlled magnetic flow. It might be slightly weaker, but you can fire at 1/4th the ammo cost, 1/4th the charge time, with longer duration, 80% slowdown in the trail _and_ it's still enough damage to one-shot grunts at haz 5. And that's not even mentioning how you also get to spam the most broken fear AoE in the game that way basically for free.
@squiddler7731 Great argument and a lot of valid points you won't change my mind though But I'll not attempt to change your because we are all Entitled to our own opinions. Rock and Stone brother.
@@squiddler7731 this is true, but you also have to consider taking controlled magnetic flow/fear on hellfire in order to have both on demand fear and hellfire. Ammo is slightly tighter and you lose bulk slowing utility, but in terms of sheer effectiveness it wins out. Although realistically, these OCs (along with ttc) are so much more powerful than literally anything else in the game that it’s not really worth splitting hairs over which is better.
@@flapjackgd937 the thing about stopping bulk argument is that the same class has leadbursters
Triple tech chambers does very good against dreadnaughts
Rocket barrage is slept on, I've seen a couple other youtubers talking shit about it and then they're just outright using the worst build for it. The damage penalty is fixed, so taking the damage upgrades over the ammo ones fixes your dps AND has better total damage. Also, timing a perfect cluster charge to burst down something tanky is possibly the most satisfying thing in the game
@@Brass319 if I had to wager, I’d also say they’re trying to use it on haz 5 where the tanky specials it’s good for are even tanker, and thus it feels worse than it is. That’s one of the reasons I did this on haz 4 instead; because there are a few overclocks that lose their luster on haz 5 even if they aren’t actually bad - they just don’t feel as good anymore.
@@derpykat5 Nah the one that complained more was complaining about using it against praetorians. Because they didn't take any damage upgrades and were surprised when its damage was low. At least one of them admitted that it is definitely useable and that they just didn't like using it.
Thanks for making these videos. I have only 650 hours in the game and I learned a few new things from your explanations. I'll be tuning my builds some more :]
This series was very useful. Thanks!
Comment for the algorithm!
Personally I think Jetfuel is a great option for Caretakers (Any Turret, Caretaker itself) while the Shotgun blast works wonders against Dreadnaughts. And a good AoE secondary helps against any enemys... is what I could say but Burstfire for more single target it is and Fire Grenades will have to do
I was actually planning on taking JFH into that Sabotage, but it had Lethal Enemies and Rich Atmosphere at that point in the mission rotation, so no dice.
This video marks the end of this series - at least unless and until new overclocks are added (and I will be covering those if that happens). I've been thinking about other things I want to do, and other things I could do, but this is coming to a close. It's been amazing seeing the reception this series has gotten, from the helpful to the interested to the (deserved) critique. I'm very much still stretching my wings and it's been quite startling to see this series be quite literally orders of magnitude more popular than basically everything else I've ever uploaded. That said, this series was a lot of effort. More effort than I wanted to put into this channel. It was about an hour to two hours a day all week, and I know that's pretty insignificant compared to what some of the bigger channels pour into each and every upload, this was always a hobby for me. I had a lot of fun doing this though, and I do plan to do more sort of video essays like this in the future - though not necessarily about DRG and not always in the same content-assessment vein. I probably won't do any for a while though, and they'll be few and far between, because I need time to rest between each one and focus on my other hobbies and projects, as well as the other stuff I want to show that's definitively better shown as a lets-play. So with that, thank you all for watching.
SMRT trigger without m,acro lense is great, it almost acts like the titanfall smart pistol
5:05 This OC has one synergy with "Born Ready" perk. When you almost emptied your mags, switch to your primary for 5 seconds, than switch back. That way you can stack up A MASSIVE amount of Blast damage on one target and finish it off with one reload tap at vulnerability window. It's widely used against Dreadnoughts and big targets, but it doesn't effective against Bulk Detonators, because they are practically immune for Blast damage.
HEHEHE the thing at the end is pawsome >:3
Nice video
The part where you mention for SMRT that its lack of an ab mod negatively effects it is false, as the gun as an inherent 150% ab value making it already get the armor punchthrough effect by default
☝
With SmЯt Trigger OS the tier 3 Smяt Targeting Software helps a lot on the ammo department, other wise you will always shoot 2/4 bullets (tier4 dependent), i use 2-3-2-2-2 and feels good... and yeah pretorians and wardens you deal with secondary, that being Hyperpropellant or the Overdrive Booster or the breach cutter in general.
Not to mention, it always trigger the electrocution from tier 5, even if you only get 2 locks on a target. Pretty useful for ammo economy and some soft CC.
Could you do one where you test them in VWA?

Love your videos
I don't get how hard you were on SmЯt Trigger OS™, Macro Lens is still the best T2 mod choice as a discount Executioner cause as you said, you need to ration its use carefully. If you equip the other mods that make the angle wider it'll just go through even more ammo unnecessarily locking onto more bugs you don't want to shoot. With the armor breaking issue you mentioned, the LOK-1 already has a pretty good base armor breaking stat of 150% that's hidden (you can find it in the wiki) which makes STOS and Executioner reliable Stingtail and Brundle killers. In my opinion the ammo issue is honestly something that's the base LOK-1's issue, it's just that Explosive Chemical Rounds and Executioner give such strong effects, and Seeker Rounds has a nerfed rate of fire it's barely an issue for those Overclocks. Yeah I really like SmЯt Trigger OS™lmfao
love there vids
Executioner my beloved. I like to pair it with efficiency tweaks bio-converter diffractor, but I'll probably use VIR once I get that
Hoo boy....
I am sorry, but you have impact mixture build wrong. U take 13222 which enables you to one shot grunts, spam charge shots to quickly kill weaker hordes, and gives a driller a very decent single target damage. Try it out
I'm less late this time. Progress......? Regardless, the show must go on. Combustive Goo Mix (0:10) I: Something counter-intuitive is that the explosions radius is different depending on whether you ignite a puddle or shoot a burning bug with goo. Here are the exact numbers: Puddle 50 Radial Type Less Damage + 50 Radial Heat in a 2m radius Bug 50 Type Less Damage + 50 heat to the target 50 Radial Type Less Damage + 50 Radial Heat in a 2.5m radius. O: This OC definitely shines more in solo, where external sources of heat isn't an issue & as it provides drillers with some much needed burst damage. However, the only heat sources I'd be concerned with in multiplayer would be CRSPR (not an issue if you're running a "balanced" team), Burning Hell/Hellfire/Incendiary Grenades on Gunner or Flame Bolts on Scout. While these aren't uncommon per se, there are lots of builds that won't conflict with this OC. I: For those wanting to use regular EPC shots to ignite things, here's some numbers for you: Energy Rerouting (All Ammo) Ammo: 184 Shots to Ignite Puddle: 3 Shots to Ignite Grunt: 3 Shots to Ignite Guard: 6 Shots to Ignite Praetorian: 11 Energy Rerouting (T1 Damage) Ammo: 160 Shots to Ignite Puddle: 3 Shots to Ignite Grunt: 3 Shots to Ignite Guard: 6 Shots to Ignite Praetorian: 10 Heavy Hitter (All Ammo) Ammo: 136 Shots to Ignite Puddle: 2 Shots to Ignite Grunt: 2 Shots to Ignite Guard: 4 Shots to Ignite Praetorian: 6 Heavy Hitter (T1 Damage) Ammo: 112 Shots to Ignite Puddle: 2 Shots to Ignite Grunt: 2 Shots to Ignite Guard: 3 Shots to Ignite Praetorian: 5 Goo Bomber Special (1:41) O: I like running this alongside Subata with the Chain Hit OC & T5 C. Putting a line down & shooting in bugs Weak Points to possibly get up to 2 stacks of T5 C per shot is relatively effective. O: As you pointed out, shooting regular shots onto the ground is an effective strategy (especially with T3 A for the full 24s lifetime). It's my go to in close quarters/tight spaces. I?: From my previous experience, the raining down puddles by shooting straight up technique has always been hit or miss. You need a space big enough to shoot up without hitting the roof, a target large enough to make it worth it & hope that they stay still. Because it doesn't do the splash damage of the charged shot, you'll want T2 B to get 18 fragments (each which deal 8 damage on a hit). Volatile Impact Mixture (2:59) C: This feels a bit nit picky, but the lifetime of the puddles is reduced by 1/4 not 1/3 (the exact modifier is x0.75 puddle lifetime duration) I: This has some super janky interaction with the Blisters from the Blistering Necrosis OC. The build I use for massive damage (alongside a Blistering Necrosis Wave of course) is 1, 1, 2, 2, 1. Shoot a bug until it has a blister, then switch to the Sludge Pump & hit it with a Charged Shot. From what I can tell, the charged shot splash damage gets multiplied? It's very weird but works very well. Hydrogen Ion Additive (5:02) O/I: I like this OC in theory, but the actual effects are pretty small. It gives a +2 DPS bonus to the corrosive DoT (so 35.2 -> 37.2 base or 44 -> 46 with T5 B) & increases the DoTs slowdown from 35% to 44.75% base, or from 51.25% to 58.56% (note that it doesn't affect the puddles slow, only the DoTs). As you can see, these are pretty negligible increases for taking up your OC slot. I feel like it should also give a lifetime increase to the DoT & puddles. Disperser Compound (5:45) I: One way of increasing coverage is to shoot the ceiling, although this only works if the ceilings not too low (as the fragments don't get time to spread out) or too high (as the shot won't impact it) Diffusion Ray (6:32) O: I personally like to use this with T5 C, since that doesn't care about the damage of the beam. I pair it with CRSPR using 2, 2, 3, 3, 1 & Fuel Stream Diffuser. CRSPR can easily ignite a whole group due to it's 20m reach & fire spread. Then, if you need some breathing room, whipping out the Wave to start temp shocking will wipe them out cheaply & efficiently (remember that temp shock deals 200 disintegrate damage). This even gives you a decent way of dealing with larger enemies, although that has nothing to do with the OC. Super Focus Lens (7:29) I: If you find yourself having issues using this without getting hit, use this OC in conjunction with Cryo. This both makes the bugs incapable of fighting back once they're frozen, while also increasing the effectiveness of the damage increase since Wave gets the 3x damage bonus to frozen enemies. For example at base Wave deals 7 damage, or 10.5 if you're benefiting from this OC. However against a frozen target you deal 21 damage, or 31.5 with this OCs benefit. Pair it with boiler ray in T5 for some efficient crowd clear & surprisingly decent single target damage (although you'll run out of ammo relatively quickly) Gamma Contamination (8:14) O: Imo this is a godsend for Driller builds with a single target focused primary. This pair very well with a full damage Ice Storm build or a Sludge Blast build, since those builds lack the ammo & crowd clear potential respectively, & this OC gives driller an excellent way to make up for that. Blistering Necrosis (9:43) I: So, this one weird OC. You are correct in that blisters inherit a Weak Points multiplier if it's higher than 1.5x. They are not supposed to multiply area damage, however the Sludge Pumps Charged Shot Splash Damage as well as EPCs & Draks Plasma splash mods all get boosted by them. They also affect things that don't normally get a benefit from hitting a weak point, such as Wave Cooker itself & the direct damage of CRSPR & CRYO.
