Thanks! Really means a lot man.
Your plant is beautiful. I would do clippings. Lol. Have a great plant day. 🪴 🌿 🪴 🌿 🪴 🌿 🪴 🌿 🪴
So nice of you. Thank you. You know I’m trying to make sure I don’t have to buy this plant anymore. Hope your day goes amazing as well 💚
New to your channel and wish you well on your plant journey 😀
Welcome. Glad you’re here and it’s been a great one so far.
$20 is my limit for a plant. I never buy online ..too many scams...and definitely fertilize!!
You are right about the scams and with the AI that’s out now it’s a lot of false pics. I have to up my fertilizer game up definitely missing opportunities there.
I think I killed mine. Right now there are no leaves. I'm just waiting to see if it will come back. I believe I overwater and the soil was no the right one for her. So while there were still two leaves I repot it her to regular soil, perlite and some orchid bark. Then the two remaining leaves felt off and now is just wait and see.
I killed mines 😮. I tried a new type of soil in a self watering pot and it didn’t take. I should have left it alot but I couldn’t stay put. I’ll get another one and your mix is perfect btw!
Great video Shawn those bloody pests
Don't see how you can remember all the names of your plants, but they sure are awesome !!!
Looking at it now it’s definitely pest free I’m just worried about how much damage it’s done .definitely still looks healthy but how long it will take for some growth is interesting
I hope they're gone 😢😢😢
@@mdt6176 yes we are pest free waiting on a leaf to unfurl I’ll definitely do the update
If anyone is wanting a universal soil mix, good for seedlings and repotting. Buy a coco coir brick break it up in a tote or small kid pool and soak it with water so it bulks up. You can even wash it a couple times to get the extra salts and what not off. Then add it to a promix, your choice,hp,bx+,or either of the two 2 cubic foot ones at Walmart. I recommend the red bag bc the yellow already has coco and peat moss in it. Do a 1:1 ratio coco to promix or 2:1 promix to coco. That’s the base I’d use to build any super soil or any plants period off of. Tailor the rest of your soil mix based off plant needs. Major rule to new plant owners,or any plant owners period, under water before you overwater . To much water is more harmful then not enough.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I don’t know anything about hp or bx so I’m going to need a little more. Saving us money with the re wash tip. I will give this a try as well!
@@growingwithshawn the hp has perlite and more drainage the bx is their “all purpose” it has more water retention properties and their mpo is pretty much the same blend I talked about making myself.
You have beautiful plants. 🪴 And thank you for these tips. I’ve watched a lot of plant videos lately and this was really helpful.
@@Happygrumpysmile I’m so happy to hear this!! Have a great day 💚
I am sick of bringing bugs home from the big box stores here mate lol
@@bigfishlad4847 man they are so annoying. Like why. I should start spraying them there before I bring them home lol
So quit buying plants that stay outside lmao.

Great video Shawn as always
Thanks man. I appreciate the love and support man 💚
Hey Shawn the Grow Lights over your left shoulder what make are they please
Please give us updates.
@@gizmo4774 definitely will.
We kept a poinsettia for about 5 years next to the house. They turn green then red again. I live in South Florida though. It finally died.
5 years that’s wild 😮. Have you ever kept a cactus I have to give my mom the care tips idk
I haven't had a catus in years. I should try getting one in the near future.
Enjoyed your video. Thank you.
Thank you. I thought about what you said the other day about slowing down when I go out. I never know sometimes whether to record when I go out because I never wanna waste anybody’s time if you hear just for plants, but it really is plant related and it could help. I’m still learning how to be a better plant parent but I do know the bare minimum to keep them alive now so I try to share that and keep in mind of people‘s budget because I got ripped off.
Yes! Thank you so much for slowing down. I love looking at everything! I don't have a lot of plants. Just want to try to take care of the ones I have. Unless I see something I have to have. Lol. Yes...I'm noticing things can get quite expensive. Wow!. I'm definitely on a tight plant budget right now. Doing the best I can. Enjoy your videos. Life is stressful. Lost my mom this year. They are calming and informative. Thank you. 😊
Whats the planter .your using .thanks
The brand is yivosun on Amazon.
@growingwithshawn many thanks
Keep us updated on what happens !😊
Why are you putting that pothos/monstera in such a small pot together ? Won’t the roots be unhappy?
For right now the roots are fresh out of water and really small. I wish I could have gone smaller. The monstera has no roots at all. If they get healthy and can establish growth I will transition them late summer or early fall. I don’t see the it become root bound before a year.
I like that combo. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is actually on today’s agenda, perfect.
Perfect. Happy Planting 🌱
Shawn are you using celo tape on the plant
It’s called graphing tape. It’s on Amazon. Hope this helps
@@growingwithshawn LoL 😂 oops ok cool
Beautiful specimen 😮😅😊
@@dorothyclaygardner9788 thank you 💚
What product do you use
@@terriwatson1592 systemic houseplant, and insecticidal soap.
She's beautiful. Thanks for the update!
You bet 💚
I just bought a white knight yesterday. It's smaller. I'm very excited. 😊
Good choice! I just picked one up too. They are so beautiful. The stem is everything! 💚
I'm beginning to think mine is a White Wizard. 😮 Even though it's heavily marked as a Knight. I was googling pictures.
Always something to learn when yr growing with Shawn...more catchy..
@@celegleeson1767 I’m have to try to it.
Another great informative video shawn
So glad you bought it. Yours is two times the size of mine when I bought it.
You know with the size of most my plants now. If I don’t buy them at a decent size they will get lost. I don’t like the baby stages. Most of my plants like 90 percent I got as a baby because of price but it kicked my but. I told myself once I get past this stage never again. I’m a heavy pourer so I root rotted a lot of my babies at the start.
👋🏾 Shawn, plant life happens. Keep growing stay Blessed. 🪴Happy Planting🌿
You got that right! Have a great Friday 💚
Great video Shawn very informative thank you
A systemic!!!!! I see people say they struggle with pest on certain plants and I’m like why are you not using a systemic? You know they have to be at the nurseries where they growing these and straight up pesticides as you can see the residue on the leaves
I’ve just started using it for about 6 months and I could never go back I mean it just gets straight to business. It’s hard at times when we don’t see these pest then they go to our other plants. But I got something for them 😅
I love the paper towel tip !!!
I’m so happy you was able to take something from this one 💚
Curious to see a video of your lightning setups. Looking for ideas as I want to keep my wife happy with what’s happening in her nest and keep her on board with a fee plants in the house
I will make a lighting video to show a few recommendations and why. I’ll do it soon. Hard to explain in words with limited space.
Ok. your not the only one to dis on Calatheas. What’s up with Calatheas?
They floppy. If you forget about them one day half the plant dies smh
Don't get them on your long sleeves and accidently spread them to other plants. I know you know that already. 😊
Thanks for the tip!. I never thought about that. 💚
I know you're careful. Have a blessed day.
🪴Happy Planting🌿
💚. Have an amazing day.
Shawn what was that thick brown stuff
Where at in the video?
Loved the video. Camera went too fast though. I was looking. Lol.
