Building A Counterweight from Rusty Plate Weights
Per my previous comment. I was replacing an old block heater that leaked. I ended up taking a shaviv deburring tool around the lip to bevel it, then I took a flap wheel in my right angle drill to the port to clean it up. A bit of grease on the o ring and port and the block heater popped in and sealed.
@@ebla83 great idea
I have a Cub Cadet 1782 diesel Super garden tractor with a D640 engine. It uses the same block heater and they are a pain to put in. I am replacing my old one now and came here hoping for a better idea while installing it.
I see inside can at the knocker wheel cover your missing the little metal cover that prevents the seed from getting under wheel knocker cover .
Kallstrom Sweet Corn , It's January 2nd and I'm rebuilding several John Deere 71 Flexi planters . If planter can are to rusty on the bottom you can cut bottoms off with chop saw or hand grinder and then fold metal over with a hammer . Works great .
That would work.
Get a cab

I am missing something that must be obvious. Why do you need a hydraulic top link? Doesn't the up/down control on the BX23 raise and lower the box blade or whatever other attachment you have on the back just fine?
@cjmagnuson1008 it allows adjustment of the blade angle from the operator station. Additionally I use the the most when connecting as it makes it very easy to align the top link and when loading the tractor.
A couple questions... 1. Does it come with rear and forward facing rear blades? 2. Are the blade/s replaceable or welded on? Thanks for your help, i cant find this info anywhere online
@@BillyBlaze7 yes. Has both front and back blades that are both replaceable by bolt on cutting edges.
@@HuserHelpers Thanks man, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions, it helped me a lot
@BillyBlaze7 if you're located near central IL and want to try this one you're more than welcome to.
@@HuserHelpers Kind offer, but Im in North Texas. appreciate it though. Your information helps me greatly. I was trying to decide between the Bad Boy and an Iron Craft. I am leaning more towards the BB due to it weighing almost 200lbs more ( I am looking at 5ft box blades. i own a Bad Boy zero turn and have been very happy with their products, stands to reason their attachments would also be made heavy duty. Thanks again
That's corn head grease. 😂
@Boscovius actually per King Kutter it is 80-90 weight gear lube. It had water it in from the breather vent.
Do you have a tutorial on how to remove the deck from the G1800? I can’t figure out how to detach the drive axle.
I am bot sure what you mean by drive axle. The PTO shaft should use a quick coupler. Then it is two quick release pins on the back. If you have the quick release in front it is easy
Mine pulls right out, but there is also a pin in another location to disconnect
Be careful with heater element if installed facing up because it could be exposed to air in engine if water level is low, possibly burning out the element. As for the O ring, a small drop of dish soap makes a big difference when installing
I didnt catch it did you reuse the gasket?
Yes. It is more or less rubber. About the same thickness as an inner tube.
So how did it come out, seed sprouting viability using the harrow?
The customer was really pleased. They had full coverage, and based on the trail camera's good growth. Deer covered it all winter.
12:30 looked like it pulled level. 🤷♀️ You might just be going too fast.drop a tire on it for weight
I modified it to put drops where the front chains connect. That made it pull lower and fixed the issue. I just used it over the weekend on my garden.
All that work and just laying it flat… 🚶🚪🦖
Holy monkeys dude. You got all the nuts off the spikes, that’s friggin amazing. I just want to tighten mine up and get the adjuster to work. That is way more work than I am going to do. I might try to tighten up some spike if they’re loose but I don’t expect any luck at being able to do all of them. Did you re die the threads and tap the nuts? Great googely moogely that’s a lot of work. 😆 I take it you don’t have a press to straighten that side bar. Nor torch to heat it up. I’d think putting it in something to hold it and a big ole cheater bar over the end and bending it back might do something using a hitch possibly 🤷♀️
Do you have to soak the corn seeds in water before you drop them in the ground or how long do you water after you have them planted.
No soaking. Just plant. For us, we have enough moisture in the ground here for the plants to pop in a week.
Thanks for the video. I was on the fence about the Pat's system but I think that is the way to go. As has been said before, you have great helpers. You, Sir, are a really good dad.
Thanks for the kind words
It looks great
Thanks. I love it. Deer food plots and seeding grass it works awesome.
what toplink did you end up getting? does it hook to your front 3rd valve or do you need another valve out back?
I got one from Haytools.com. I have the factory rear remotes.
I just bought the 2023 BX23s. I want to do this for my box scraper.
I don't believe you can install rear hydraulic remotes on a backhoe model. You would need to use an aftermarket solution.
is there another place block hearter can be installed as my 722 faces the opposite of yours and no way to get a front frost plug?
I'm not sure. You'll have to look for a soft plug in the head.
Great Jobs!, i'm from Brazil, i have a Kubota B2320 and a John Deere planter 7000, and i love this. congratulations for your job.
When you lift an implement do you 3pt hitch arms angle in once there's weight on them? I just installed my pats and they seem to twist inwards (the whole arm) when lifting my blower.
Yes. It is normal. 400 hours on them and they are great
@@HuserHelpers Great, thanks. I won't worry about it too much then. :)
Nice! Both look fun.
They both work their butts off for me
I have a hydraulic top link and I think it works great for all my rear attachments. Nice video.
Thanks for watching
Great video! Do you have a reference for the hydraulic top link you have installed here? I have a BX2380 and I’m trying to track down that part number, thanks!
I bought it from Haytools.com. their website is easy to use.
Would you share the .dxf or drawings for the plates of steel?
There are no drawings. I hired a weld shop to fab up it all. I took him my pallet fork frame and he copied the dimensions.
Booooooooo 😆😆😆😆😆😆, That was funny
The 4 quick couplers are what style? Are the male quick couplers on the hose side ball or poppet style?
I believe they are poppet. Same ones that the loader uses. I ordered them from Amazon. Here is the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BY6SSFW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
How’s this holding up overtime, Any leakage?
Not yet. I just looked at it over the weekend as I was working on the battery, and it was bone dry.
Have a 2017 battery on my G1800S and dying fast, could I use 425 CCA instead of 500 these things have gotten out of control in terms of cost? Talking $50 difference.
You might be able to, but it may shorten the life.
Buen trabajo. great job, nice single planter.
Thanks
That is a good idea for an engine hoist. This looks like a really difficult job but I am sure you will not have a problem with it
Hey bud, not too difficult just a pain.
Wow major Pain! Sorry to hear you have to deal with that 😢 Good Luck and I know your capable 👍😊
Part of it, owning and operating machines. Years of farm boy mentality, stuff breaks.
Omg hope it goes well 🤞🏻and welcome back Jason 👍🏻🙋🏼♂️🙂
Thanks Luc. It will slow me down for a few days but I will get it back up and going. Parts are ordered and I am going to go ahead and change the Hydraulic Oil and Filter. It has been nearly 400 hours so getting time for a change. I do get this machine hot when I am really pushing hard. Take Care and I hope all is well with you and the family. Jason

Oh no That sucks... the little shield Kubota provides is not adequate! Keep us posted as to how the job goes.
I agree, but I have been in a lot of brush in the past and this is the first time that I have had an issue. The shame of it is that I was nearly done with what I was doing.
I have not had much battery problem with my g1800, i get around 4 years of shaking the battery, i rarely put any water in, guess i am lucky.
CAME OUT EXTRAORDINARY BEAUTIFUL. I have a queation: how did you remove the 2 outside pulleys is that the nut with the gease zerks i have to back off the take the pulley off. i need help seriously thanks
I used a gear puller. Pull the zerk and use a gear puller.
had to use a gear puller and air hammer and heated it cherry red and it came off but was not easy at all. thank you@@HuserHelpers
I dont understand how you greased the head gearbox. Didnt look like any bolts were removed when you did it. Doesnt look quite the same setup as an Echo.
This one has a zerk at the head
Not sure what that is but I figured mine out. Was a strange looking setup but still came apart pretty easily.
You have to replace your spring washers! Bin dere, dun dat!!!
That is a perfect place to store the bucket, great job
Thanks bud. How have you been? I've been meaning to catch up on your videos.
@@HuserHelpers We are good but very busy at the moment. I hope everything is good with you
Just picked up almost the same model, 4’x@67”, original paint was green. Saving this video. Thanks
Thanks for watching
Thank you for a great vidio. I've got a question that I hope doesn't get me ridiculed, Will raising the pressure effect the mower deck as far as the RPM of the blades??
It shouldn't. Increasing hydraulic pressure does not impact the mechanical transmission which includes both the mid and/or rear PTO.
What is the length of the hydraulic top link you got? and could you tell me where did you get it from? Link? thanks!
I got it from haytools.com. I think it is a 14" compressed. I have another video on the choosing the right top link. You will want to measure your current set-up to decide which one will work best for you.
