Mate, could you send a link or describe the oil and wax/resin you use to “cake” the pipe to make it smokable?
Wow great job
Thank you!
I love your understated sense of humor. 8-)
More will be coming soon :)
Beautiful pipe, reminds me of a chanterelle mushroom
Exactly the shape i tried to make. Best mushroom ever.
Excellent all around. People can be crude. But you are amazing.!! Thanks for your hard work dedication and transparency on this subject.
I do my best to include as much details as possible. I'm glad i can inspire people to start making their own (or to buy a pipe from me..) Thank you for your comment. It means a lot for me 🙂
@ great work. Keep inspiring!
@@theodoregreen687 I will try!
I like that you talk throughout the entire video because you're teaching us a lot of useful things. Thanks for the video! I'm a beginner in pipe making, and I don't even smoke, but the pipes can be so beautiful that I consider them a form of art.
Thank you! I also do not smoke (regulary, but on very special occasions) And believe they can be really beautiful. Thank you for your comment!
I am blessed to have acres of oak, cherry and other trees. I've always wanted to make my own pipe, but alas, I haven't the time. Thank you for this video!
It is never to late. A really rewarding project. More videos are coming. I will make one out of cherry in a upcoming video :) Thanks for your comment!
Beautiful pipe and really inspiring video! Keep up the great work! 💯
Thanks! More are coming soon! :)
Excellent video. I appreciate you not having music in the background, its a real turn off. Your English is excellent, better then half of those in America. 😉 . Your talking through the video is fine, i like when people explain the process, tips and tricks also. Thank you for the video. Subscribed
Thank you for all of this feedback! I will never put just music on my videos on this channel. Thank you for your subscribtion, more videos are on the way.
Great video. It makes me want to give this a try and I am. I probably shouldn't use briar wood to practice due to it's expense. Can you recommend a good practice wood that I could use before using briar?
I think that cherry or white oak would be suitable for practise. I would not try to use the oak pipe for smoking though. But the hardness I nice enough for practise. Briar is really hard and does not chip easily 😀
Thank you for the hard work!
No worries. More videos are coming.
I think your English is awesome man! keep up the good work.
Thanks! 😃
Brass is always class ,,I'm enjoying your videos,,, it's inspiring me to start on another one,, this pipe was awesome and the kit takes it to the next level,,,,nice dremel set
It looks very nice with the oak. A pipe with a accesory box is a nice gift for yourself 😀
@HallbeamDesign hahaha hahaha 🤣 yes it is,,,I'll work on that 👍
10:50 you speak the perfect amount, as I have a very strong desire to make pipes as well, and all of the knowledge you bring helps me save myself from obvious mistakes I could make in the future. for me this is hyper instructional information not entertainment, and if you ask me, you could even talk more. and your English is excellent, don't let them make you second guess yourself.. Love what you do, keep it going!
I'm glad to hear this. Positive feedback. You are probably my main audience as you want to make a pipe and are looking for inspiration on youtube. When you start making them, please send photos of them and I might input them into a upcoming pipe making video 🙂
2:39 where do you get your stems?
Janzen-pfeifen.de a german website.
Thanks so much!@@HallbeamDesign
@JacobLehman-ov4eu no worries! I always respond to all my comments 🙂
Nice, nice, very nice. However you can make it yourself. Just google WoodPrix and learn how to do it easily.
Awesome video,,I just started making pipes 2 months ago and made to 2 videos,,, and after watching you work,,it has I'm spared to up my game,,,, thank for your inspiration,,,,🎷
Started watching your pipe no2 video. Great job! The main reason with my channel is to inspire more people to start woodworking.
@HallbeamDesign thanks 👍 for the comment,,I hope you enjoy it 😀
Great job on the pipe I am new to pipe smoking and I would like to make my own pipes someday. You do a great job of narrating your videos.
Thank you! Just order some briar root and get going. It is a really rewarding process 😀
Please make more pipes they’re so cool
I will. I'm planning to release a lot more of them. Right now I am looking for buyers. I'm glad you enjoy them.
I am glad to have found your channel🎉 I am a novice pipemaker myself and learning quickly...I enjoy making things in my shop too, pipe stands too😊 Love the detail in your videos and I understand perfectly❤ I used to be active on YTPC however the strange comments from others once you show pipemaking, too many opinions😊 I am very active on IG though. Looking forward to more on your channel🎉 Cheers from Vancouver Island BC Canada
Hello! I try a lot to make sure every detail is included in the videos. Glad to make people inspired. I have not been active on YTPC but If they want they could include me. I like the different opinions regarding pipe making. Cheers from Uppland, Sweden 😀
@HallbeamDesign I appreciate the detail, and I also only use a handdrill and dremel for my pipemaking amongst other tools but no lathe etc...I would be careful with the ytpc, there are too many opinions that are not positive or encouraging, not to mention the tight lips on sharing techniques etc...I avoid it for this reason, however the IGPC is wonderful and inclusive to everyone with common respect and no politics and religion which plagues the ytpc😉 Just my experience over a year...Cheers
@TheDeviusPiper I understand why some methods are being kept secret. But I just want more people to enjoy pipe making 🙂
Nice. How you say and write tobacco pipe? Mm paper?
Very similar to the video :)
Finally. A video that actually shows the pipe making process from start to finish. Great job. Also, I heard a wire brush works well to remove bark from the top but I haven't tried it. Might be worth a shot.
I know! I also searched for complete videos and realized that i had to make them myself. I will try the wire brush in a upcoming video. Thank you for your comment!
Your videos are great just as they are. Thank you for showing the process
I hope this video gets people inspired :) Thank you for your comment!
a cozy relaxing 17mins , thank you <3
You're welcome!
I think it may be more ideal to use a forstner bit for the tobacco hole
Yes! In my more recent pipe making videos I even have a special drill bit used for making that hole. If you do not have a forstner bit you could do it like a did in this video though. It is not the perfect way but a DIY way 🙂
Excellent build , think that’s inspired my next project
Great! It is a really easy and useful build.
I just found this channel and i love it. You explain the process well. Your vocal tempo is constant and steady. Even with your accent (sorry i am american and some accents can be difficult to understand) your speaking voice is very easy to understand and clear.
I spend a lot of time trying to make the videos "smooth" I did ask the audience in a more recent video about my accent. 99% think like you which I believe is good enough. I believe the accent will also improve over time. Thank you for you comment!! 🙂
How big did you make the head of mallet?
18x10x9cm or about 7x4x3 1/2 inches if you prefer american measurments 😀
Thank you
@JamesWhite-h1p No worries! I always answer all my comments!
🤣"So I can learn how to identify those people from a distance so I don't have to meet such a person." Great video! Thank you!
Yes! Irony and sarcasm is humor for smart people.
The one and only thing I think you really could have done better, is the box. It's way to thick and large for it's content, there is plenty of material you could and probably should had removed. The end grain isn't oriented in a way where it looks good, often it's a good idea to match the grain up so everything is as mirrored as possible. The best way to do this sort of box in my personal opinion would have had been to cut everything in to thinner boards. avoiding visible endgrain on the outside by cutting all endgrain corners in to angles so you would have only had stright grain on all sides. And then perhaps used the endgrain as one can see in the video, cut in to a large amount of smaller squares, and then made a custom lid out of it. Using the half moon shape of the endgrain and make it in to snake shapes could have made this box look significantly more luxurious. I hope you understand what i'm trying to say, because i'm shit at explaining things in text. Kinda wish youtube would allow pictures so i could post somthing showing what i mean. You also left a lot of tool marks on the inside of the box, that should had been removed. The placement of the locking mecanism is also not a werry good place astethicly. And it would have had been a good idea to either put legs on the box or at the werry least some felt pads on the bottom of the box. That way it's less likely to both be scratched, or to scratch any thing it's put upon. Other than that you did a good job. We all whom work with our hands and are creative, learn new things every day. We all have our streangths and weaknesses. Mine are motivation and perfectionism. I werry easly lose all motivation for stuff, and wont stop judging the hell out of everything i make to the point where a lot of it ends up in a trash bin.
Thank you for this feedback. Finally someone who really see the things i see. Often only the creator is the one who feels this way regarding his own creations. I myself find a lot of things that the customer never will realize. I will make a similar video in 2025. I will save this comment for myself as there are a lot of good tips. I'm glad for you feedback. You really took the time and I will give it back to you in the next box video. Thank you 🙂
I enjoy pipe making videos. This was a good one.
Thank you! Me too! There will be more videos like this soon 🙂
Your nails are on fleek.
It's a nail machine gun. It is really good and very inexpensive.
splute
Very!
Very simple design and good job demonstrating that anyone can do this. This isn't going to come out perfectly, but not every build needs to be made from walnut slabs with integrated LED lighting.
Exactly. You could take 30 dollars of wood and spending 20 hours making it look like another speices of wood and making it seamless. This is a build for those who want to make their own furniture. The bench is actually really nice and I will probably have it sold in days. I will be making more videos regarding scandinavian benches where i will make a really nice one compared to this :)
Nice work.
Thank you! A very scandinavian feedback for a very scandinavian build.
Ok - you have inspired me! ✌🏻🎨☕️
Great! It is really worth the time. A classic piece of furniture 🙂
What compressor do you have for the nail gunner?
EINHELL TC-AC 190/24/8 1500W 24L 8 BAR Works well with the nailgun 🙂
@@HallbeamDesign Thank you for the information and I will look it up so I can get me one plus the nail gunner
@@MickeFor You will have a lot of fun with it. A compressor is also really good when cleaning other tools. Good luck!
Bro the inside edges of that box are a bit dodgy... Good video though 👍
Only the very thin one with the pipe cleaners 🙂
where do you get your briarwood from? Is there a specific website? Thanks for the video!
Janzen-pfeifen.de A german website. Delivers in 3-6 days. 😀
I enjoy your video style very much.
Great! I try to make this type of video informative and high paced 🙂
@@HallbeamDesign And your English is very very good.
@@wickedneurons Thanks! One day i probably have to upload some bloopers from recording the voiceovers. I have a few audiofiles saved just for this 🙂
I find that your English is very understandable, and seems fluent.
I spend a lot of time trying to make the videos fluent. Thank you for this.
I hope you don’t change a thing about your videos. I enjoy them immensely. I might even try to build a bench!
I'm glad that you enjoy them. If you make a bench you are more than welcome to send me a picture of it. It would be a great integration in one of my next videos. Thank you again for you comment :)
That was a lovely video. Can I suggest that if you rout the recess for the tobacco tin to the same depth as the tin, you add a 'thumb notch' recess in the wood to help with getting a grip on the tin to lift it out. :)
You are not the first to notice this! I have no idea how I could miss this very easy way of making it easy to take out the cannister with tobacco. I will soon make a video like this with different wood. I will make the recess with a thumb notch in that video 😀
Tack för en bra video
Kul att du gillade den! Fortfarande tidigt i TH-camkarriären, men fina kommentarer är bland det bästa med det 🙂
I like the saw you used to cut the material. 🙂
Which one? The mitre saw? 🙂
@HallbeamDesign The miter saw.
It is a really nice mitre saw. Probably the best "cheap" on there is. Very sturdy and very little play. In a recent project i did nearly destroy it in a stupid way, it still works fine but there is a slight sound from the motor. I can really reccomend buying one 🙂
Amazing looking pipe, I don't pipe smoke, but I really appreciate the craft!
We are the same! I also don't smoke pipes and really enjoy making these. Thanks for your comment.
Well done sir! Thank you for showing us how you made such a lovely pipe and box!
I will have to do more projects like this :)
Bro your English is perfect dont worry. Great vid
Great! Thank you. Soon there will be another one.
